Hi, We are Mark and Cindy Wenzel, We live in Wilmot, Wisconsin, where we have our own business, Wenzel Siding & Roofing, for 33 years, since the winters are SO brutal here, & We love Costa Rica, been going for 12 years and finally found our perfect piece of heaven on earth, On the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, We looked for 3 years until we found the casa for us. I lived in Vero Beach, Florida for 25 years before moving to Wisconsin and marring my childhood sweetheart, Mark, We both were born in Waukegan, Illinois. We spent the winters in Costa Rica for the last 5 years, Just this year we have decided to rent our casa out, so others can enjoy all the beauty Costa Rica has to offer. If the casa is rented when we go, January- March, we can visit other parts of Costa Rica's awesome beauty.
Mark and Cindy Wenzel purchased this house in 2007
Well we looked for 3 years, either the places were to far up the moutains on very rough roads, or in noisy towns, like Jaco or Quepos, when we came across this property I knew right away this was it,Brand new casa, We put the pool in, screens on windows, and had the Rancho/Tiki built, It's perfect, and only a 25 minute drive if we want to go to the big towns, but Parrita is only 6 minutes from our casa, where we do our Grocery shopping,Fresh fruit markets, Awesome Bakery, Pharmacy,Liquor store, it's just your local Tiko Town. Just a few minutes to the beach, plus we have the monkeys, sloth, you don't see in the big towns or on the beach, best of both worlds, love this property!!!!!
Casa Marko Cindy has a Beautiful rancho, 10 degrees cooler under tiki which is wonderful at times when chillin' in hammocks, or rocking in the rocking chairs. sunning or lounging by the pool, quite, lots of wildlife, perfect place to read that novel, while listening to the birds sing, two outdoor eating areas, lush jungle property, with lots of beauty, flowers, palms, just what you would expect to see in such a tropical paradise, comfortable beds and clean soft pillows, nice sheets. I'm fussy about my bedding, It has to be relaxing and comfortable to get a good night sleep,,,,ENJOY,,,,,, PLEASE NO SMOKING IN CASA, thank You.
We arrived on Sept. 2 for a 10 day 6 girl getaway. I knew this was going to be a good trip, but let me tell you....it was fantastic!!! We rented a car and we are so glad we did because we put 1000 miles on it throughout our stay. This place is so convenient to everything. We woke up to birds singing and you just lay there and listen because its such a beautiful song. We would have our coffee (Britt coffee, its the local and its delish) on the porch every morning. Then we would plan our day...but I gotta tell ya, there's no hurry cause you really don't have to leave this house!! It is so comfortable and nice, the hammocks are right there for your pleasure, the pool is only a few steps away, the tiki is nice and shady, the birds and wildlife are pure entertainment.
The beaches are absolutely gorgeous and you can't beat the sunsets.
If you have ever (or never) been to Costa Rica, this is THE place to stay, and the owners are very accommodating. I am already looking forward to a return trip.
Fantastic rental!!! A beautiful house in a GREAT location. My buddies and I had a wonderful time during our stay. The property owner was very accommodating! Only bad was the bed I had was no bueno. but with a bunch of drinks wasn't so bad. Beach very close too , which was a big plus.
Anyone in just about any part of the USA needed to escape this winter. Tired of Florida and their 50's and 60's as their version of a winter escape. Costa Rica is where you should go and this is the place to rent. At first look you see the property is clean, modern, and well maintained. The photos of the property are accurate but do not reflect actually being there. The refreshing breezes from the mountains make even a hot day comfortable. Start with coffee at dawn in the tiki hut. Look for some early morning wild life. Parrots, Iguanas, wild birds of various types and the occasion group of monkeys. Need to be cooler? Walk twenty feet and you are pool side. After a dip in the pool a ten foot walk to the tiki hut for a light lunch. After lunch an afternoon trip to a local attraction. There are dozens of places only an hours drive or less. The evening sunset viewed from one of three beaches 15 minutes or less from the house. If you pick the right one and are there as the tide goes out you will see a mermaid rise from the sea!
The next day it is up at dawn to repeat the morning routine. Not the same animals return and there are new replacements. After that it is on the road. Head south to the village of Parrita. It is about a 15 minute trip. This is where the shopping is. Leave perishable food for the return trip. About 11:30am it is time to cross the river for lunch at my favorite Tico restaurant. Just after cross the river look for the restaurant on the west side. You need to get there before noon or you risk wait an hour for a table. After lunch you can pick your perishable foods and return home. Time to relax and enjoy the privacy and quietness of the property. A nice grilled dinner completes the day. As you go inside to watch some TV and discuss the next day you wonder how anyone could stay only 3 days. We had not seen the waterfall, a national park and only one beach. I would recommend this property to anyone anytime in the year, but specially for a real winter escape.
Very comfortable and welcoming. Great for families, with plenty of room for everyone. The pool is great when you need to cool off. Great for barbecues, has a grill and tiki hut to sit under for get together. Close to everything, but would need a car or means of transportation. We really enjoyed our stay and will return.
Wow, what an exceptional place. When we first arrived, I went out to the deck to look out at the view and got tears in my eyes. Incredible view of rain forest and mountains, very tranquil and peaceful. The home is very large, modern, clean with a very large kitchen and bedrooms. Lots of room for privacy. Favorite part of the house is the tikie hut with outdoor cook area and large entertainment area. Great spot for entertaining and chilling in a hammock. Nice to wake up to to the birds singing and the sun rising over the mountains. Lots of beautiful birds, iguanas and an occasional monkey. The owners are super nice and very helpful. I have been to Costa Rica many times and this is one of my favorite homes. Many beautiful beaches close by and a waterfall up the mountain.
Rented near the end of january.. so beautiful! Sitting outside in the tiki is
Very relaxing listening to the macaws and other wildlife. House has a very warm welcoming feeling! Very clean and well kept. Met many people at local bars, who showed us around- trips into the mountains, bbqs, and the best beaches. Grocery stores are close (about 5 miles) but Alonzo's food is also delicious. We ate at the hotel a couple times. Definitely a great place to rent!
close to beaches, mountains, waterfalls, restaurants, bars, town, or you can just relax at Casa Marko Cindy by the pool or in a hammock, reading a book, or watching all the awesome birds and iguanas, and monkey's early in the morning or late afternoon, we have the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, seriously, we have traveled all over and always say, we have the best beaches, must see is Manual Antonio,National Park, pay the extra $25-$30 for a guide, He will spot animals you will never see and help you take the best photo's. Best restaurants, Must go to Ronny's for sunset and homemade Sangria to dye for, El Avion, for food, cocktails and awesome views. and Dragonfly for thai, the hot dog and beer wagon for killer hot dogs and homemade pizza's and salads, and a really cool setting. The quad and zip line tours are so much fun, you will get dirty though, part of the fun. Also The Pelican in Esterrios-Este is our Favorite beach and place to go for sunset, 4 miles from Casa, great People, Food and Jeison and Marko make awesome cocktails, and they have real good food, another place we love is Pito's Que Comemos for dinner, tucked away in the palms a very typical Tiko place but with awesome made to order food, so relax and enjoy, Seabass, Huge Shrimp, fresh Guacamole, Pork, really good!!!, Also in Jaco
