Two totally independent holiday homes standing in three-and-a-half acres of land. 'The Lauragais' sleeps 6, and 'The Stables' sleeps 8.

With two beautiful châteaux as our nearest neighbours, this idyllic setting is guaranteed to relax even the most stressed among you!

Each luxury home has its own parking, free wi-fi, garden and terraces which are not overlooked. These together with the large swimming pool area, are tranquil places to enjoy the sunshine and lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

These delightful French properties are peacefully situated at the foot of the Black Mountains, in a beautiful rural setting with open country views, yet only five minutes from all amenities, and lots of tourist activities. Whether you are sitting by the pond watching the fish and frogs, or relaxing under a shady tree with a good book, there is an abundance of space for everyone to spread out and roam freely.

SITUATION - : The property is situated on a quiet lane which forms part of the famous pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella. With very little traffic, it is safe, peaceful and ideal for a walk or a morning jog past fields of sunflowers, vines and grazing cattle with their baby calves.

WILDLIFE -

From your window you can see a wealth of wildlife such as red squirrels, hares and dozens of species of birds, including egrets, owls, kestrels, woodpeckers, kingfishers and hoopoes. Children love to feed the fish in the pond and see and hear the big green frogs.

During the warm evenings you can watch the bats accompanied by the sounds of the crickets and nightingales.

SURROUNDINGS -

The Lauragais area is farming country and the home of the famous blue dye woad. There is a happy atmosphere about the place, in unison with its welcoming architecture – picturesque hilltop villages, lively small market towns, ancient stone farm buildings and dovecotes, all set in a rolling countryside of gentle hills, fields of sunflowers and waving corn.

MARKETS -

Our local market is listed as one of the best in France, but within an hour’s drive you can find a different market for every day of the week. You can’t help but work up an appetite as you stroll round the colourful stalls with their beautiful displays of delicious local produce.

Every Sunday sees a choice of flea markets in the surrounding villages where the locals empty their attics of unwanted items.

RESTAURANTS -

Bars, cafes, bistros, brasseries, pizzerias, and restaurants - within a short drive, there is a large choice of places to eat. On the terraces of small restaurants or in grand establishments awarded Michelin stars, you can enjoy delicious characteristic specialities that reflect local produce - foie gras, duck, charcuterie and the famous cassoulet, all accompanied by excellent local wines.

WINE -

Wine dominates the Languedoc region and has been produced here for more than 2000 years. Well known areas such as Minervois, Corbieres, Fitou and St Chinean.

As you drive around the Languedoc, you will see numerous signs reading 'dégustation' which means you can stop and taste wines, and if you like what you taste you buy direct from the producer, sometimes at a significant discount.

White wine enthusiasts can gather in Gaillac as this lovely small town in the Tarn boasts a dry, fruity white AOC wine.

FERIENWOHNUNG - LAGE – VERMIETER – ALLES 1A

Wir waren Anfang Juni für 2 Wochen als 7-köpfige Familie in the Stables und haben unsere Ferien absolut genossen.
Wir hatten die Unterkunft im Internet gebucht und waren gespannt, was uns erwartet. The Stables ist eine komfortabel eingerichtete Ferienwohnung, sehr geschmackvoll renoviert, absolut sauber und gepflegt. Das Grundstück bietet wunderbare Erholung mit Pool, Tischtennis, Badminton, Garten, dass die Kinder keinen Bedarf an Ausflügen hatten. ☺
In der näheren Umgebung sind zahlreiche Dörfchen, Städte, Märkte, der Canal du Midi. Es gibt mehr als genug Sehenswürdigkeiten!

Die Vermieter Lynne und Robin sind traumhafte Vermieter, eine perfekte Mischung aus gastfreundlich, hilfsbereit und zurückhaltend. Und besonderer Dank gilt Tochter Andrea, die uns mit morgendlichem Baguette-Service verwöhnt hat.

Wir können La Terrasse voll und ganz empfehlen und kommen mit Sicherheit wieder!

RELAXING WEEK AT EASTER

Lovely, comfortable gite and ideal for our group of six adults. No nasty surprises as the listings were spot on. The stables was well maintained and very clean. We made the most of the gites position to take trips to Carcassone, Albi and Toulouse, all within an hours drive along the scenic D roads. We also took a slightly longer day trip up into the beautiful Pyrenees and had lunch in the snowy ski resort of Soldeu. We also visited the Saturday market in Revel which is well worth attending if you want to see and purchase local food produce.

Stephanie and Jules could not have been more welcoming and helpful throughout the week. The gite is in a beautiful, quiet rural location - perfect for visitors of all ages. We would have no hesitation in recommending a holiday at La Terrasse.

FRENCH PERFECTION

We recently spent a week at the Stables and we couldn't be more pleased with our holiday choice.
The gite has been tastefully restored and furnished to a very high standard, importantly, it is also kitted out with pretty much everything you might need whilst you are there. The pool and garden areas are truly wonderful, with far reaching views of the Black Mountains providing the perfect backdrop. In fact the location met all our requirements - blissful countryside, but with shops, villages and places of interest only a short drive away. Our 3 year old son had a whale of a time running free and exploring the grounds, it was a real wrench to leave when the week was up!

RELAXING HOLIDAY

We stayed a week in The Stables and couldn't recommend it more highly as an attractively renovated, comfortable,clean and fully equipped holiday villa (including a teapot!). The original farm has been wonderfully landscaped and done up by Stephanie and Julian, who are extremely welcoming and helpful if you need them, but quietly in their own place if you are self-sufficient. There is a lovely pool and gazebo area and both villas accommodate up to 14 people in total, which is be ideal for a large party. It is situated in pretty countryside, but only 5 minutes to several lovely villages, a superb one hatted restaurant and stunning Carcassonne is only about 40 mins away.

JUST PERFECT!

We have just returned from the most amazing short stay at La Terrasse and will, undoubtedly, be returning as soon as possible!
The facilities are perfect and the house was immaculate. The bathrooms are just superb, so much thought has been put into the renovation of this complex and it is so well maintained.
The pool and the pool house are just wonderful - the view from the pool ....!
Soreze and Revel and surrounding towns and villages are very pretty and well worth visiting, the market in Revel on Saturday is something not to be missed, especially for the olives!
Stephanie & Jules are the perfect hosts, you really couldn't wish for better! Book now and enjoy x
