Further Details:
Travel: Car hire is recommended but not absolutely essential as there is regular bus service to airport and Palma in summer, infrequent in winter. Palma airport is 40 minutes away, the lovely old town of Palma just 15 minutes further. The island has motorway coverage from just before the airport. Parking in street outside the house.
Beaches: within 15 mins bike ride, 7 mins car - Many consider Mallorca’s best beach to be Cala Llombards. Cala Santanyi has more tourist attractions in summer – both are within 10 minutes drive. Cala D’or with a marina, tourist shops, night spots and beaches 20 minutes away. Likewise Colonia de San Jordi – lovely seafood restaurants in the harbour in summer.
Golf: Vall D’or and Pula – respectively 20 and 50 minutes away (La Rotana and Son Servera – 9 holes closer).
NB: Easy village access and house comfort makes it equally suitable for out of season activities.
Quotes from 2008 Guests:
“We had a wonderful time - your house was beautiful as always, and the weather superb.”
“We had a great time in your lovely house in Santanyi. We were pleased we hired a car to get about, though we enjoyed non touristy aspects of your house location. Your property has been restored beautifully and we were impressed by your taste and design within it. We spent days out at Llombards, Cala Santanyi, one day at Cala D'Or, all very pleasant. We enjoyed market on Saturday. We would recommend your house to friends because of its facilities and cleanliness, and easy access to lovely uncrowded beaches.”
“Your house was beautiful - so peaceful and comfortable! We loved Santanyi - it really was a truly Spanish experience. We loved the market and sitting up in the square at night. It is a great base to explore the Island but it was so nice to get back to Santanyi - we hope to go back one day! We enjoyed looking after your house and treating it as our own home (oh how we wished it was!).'
Other Activities:
Shopping at market twice weekly, beautiful rural walks to beaches, sitting at charming cafes in village square and watching the world go by.
