The Hanalei Beach House is located on a 1/2 acre ocean front lot and is a 100 feet walk down a beautifully landscaped private path to the beach.
Hanalei Beach House is a beautiful 2 bedroom / 2 bath ocean view home located on the northern tip of renowned Hanalei Bay. The magnificent, two mile long crescent shaped beach is a mere seventy steps along your own shady path to the sand. Enjoy the full beach life experience with leisurely walks along the shore, sun bathing, swimming, beach fires, fishing, kayaking, boogie boarding, and surfing. In summer months the bay is calm while winter brings waves. The shallow sand bottom bay (no rocks or coral) is perfect for wading, swimming, and learning to surf. During the winter, surf lessons are offered at the nearby beach parks. In front of the property is 'kiddies'; an ideal ocean play area where children may safely frolic in the gentle waves.
Located in a small neighborhood of beachside homes, Hanalei Beach House enjoys its own fenced yard, private parking, and lush tropical landscaping.
Situated on a 1/2 acre beachfront lot , the Hanalei Beach House shares the property with another beach front home. Dense vegetation ensures privacy for both houses. The Hanalei Beach House is at the back of the lot and enjoys partial ocean and beach views from the master bedroom. When the surf is up you can hear the sounds of the waves breaking on the beach.
From the property, take in gorgeous views encompassing the ocean, mountain waterfalls, spectacular sunsets and sunrises, famous Makana point (Bali Hai), and the historic Hanalei Pier.
The house and property are positioned on the ocean side of Weke Road so it is not necessary to cross the road to get to the beach - nice and safe for children. Access to Hanalei Bay is along your own private beach path

To maintain the town's truly authentic character, many of the original 1920's plantation style buildings have been lovingly restored and preserved.
Luxurious Princeville Resort is a quick (3 mile) drive up the hill for more shopping, dining, two world-class golf courses, tennis, pools and a fully equipped spa. The spectacular Na Pali coast is a scenic (8 mile) drive to the west.

Your home has been the perfect place for us with our daughter who now wakes up every morning saying" beach, beach" and goes to bed at night saying "beach, beach".
Wonderful to sleep with the windows open listening to the sounds of the waves!
Thank you for your warmth and neighborliness!
Fun to see you at farmers markets and to chat as we encounter you on the path to the beach.
And fun to witness your chicken catching practices!
If you are searching for a perfect place to stay in Hanalei Bay to experience the true magic of this tropical paradise..... look no further......The Hanalei Beach House has it all. Right on the beach, stunning views, close to town, privacy, great ambience and so comfortable.
This was our third trip to Hanalei Bay and by far The Hanalei Beach House is now our favorite place to stay. This place is steps from the most scenic and photographed spot in Hanalei Bay. The home has a fantastic ambience and is equipped with everything you would ever need from kitchen gadgets and appliances, washer and dryer to boogie boards, sand toys, and a wonderful private outdoor bamboo warm water shower. The master bedroom has the feel of staying in a tropical island tree house with the surrounding lush vegetation and great ocean view. We enjoyed sleeping with the windows and French doors to the balcony open so we could hear the ocean all night long, feel the cool breeze and enjoy the fresh scent of plumeria flowers. We stayed for 10 days and enjoyed every minute of it. The private beach front lounging area was our favorite place to enjoy our morning coffee and the spectacular evening sunsets. This was the perfect spot to stay and stage our adventures and exploration of the island of Kauai. Close to the great restaurants and shops of Hanalei but far enough away from the crowds. Make sure to build a fire on the beach, go on a fishing trip and make your own sushi, rent bikes in town, attend the local farmers market, visit Queens Bath in Princeville, take a Zodiac snorkel tour to swim with the sea turtles along the NaPali Coast, take a run on the endless beach of Hanalei Bay, hike to Hanakapiai Falls, kayak and hike to Secret Falls and enjoy great snorkeling at Tunnels Beach down the road. Thank you Nathan and Nanci for sharing your piece of Paradise and your delicious garden harvest with us.

This is a two-story small house on the property of the main house. It is THE closest house to the famous Hanalei Beach pier. This was perfect for a novice surfer because the best beginner and intermediate waves (October) are immediately to the right of the pier and further out beyond the break.(The other quality waves are far far left on the other side of the bay). I carried my board from the house, through the yard to the beach and right there is the pier. BOOM!
Accomodations are nice, clean, stylish, and updated. Their is an a/c unit upstairs in the master which was essential.
Internet is hardwired. That's great for laptops there was no WiFi which isn't ideal for smart phone use. But our carrier reception was fine.
Noise: ALL of the houses on the single street that run parallel to the beach near the pier have mild road traffic noise from surfers driving to the public beach 2 lots over. However, not once did it disturb us while we were sleeping or trying to sleep. Why? Because most people don't surf at night or early in the morning. During the day? Who cares. We were never home! We were in the water, hiking, boating...anything but staying home inside. Once or twice we took a daytime nap and the wind in the palm fronds or a/c unit pleasantly drowns out most of the road noise.
Some nice features are an outdoor hot water shower and spigot near the front door to wash sand off your feet. Sounds simple but not all homes have this and it's realllllllllly nice. Ie, we'd come off the ocean and beach, quickly rinse down, and then hop in our Jeep to grab some lunch or groceries.
Town's infrastructure is about a 2 minute drive away. Nice.
The owners are very nice and responsive to our needs. The blender (making smoothies) was broken and they replaced it the same day we notified them. Our deposit was promptly refunded. Quality folks.
The perfect house in the perfect setting. The house was exactly as described and you truly can't beat the location - close to everything and on the North shore (where you want to be). We loved cooking in the kitchen and bringing our food down to the beach, just steps away. Also, spent a ton of time on the upstairs porch reading books and enjoying the breeze. Can't wait to go back again. Lastly, Nathan was a great host.
We were so lucky to find Hanalei Beach House for Spring Break.
My family stayed for a week in paradise. The accommodations and location were perfect for my family of four.
We walked each morning into Hanalei to have breakfast and some nights for dinner.
The beach was perfect for the kids to learn to surf.
The house had everything that we needed and more.
We were provided with chairs and boogie boards for the beach. The owners of the home were so easy to work with. They responded in a timely manner to all my inquiries.
I would definetly rent Hanalei Beach House again and would highly recommend it to family and friends.
Our party of 3 adults just returned from a week at this location. In general, the description & photos of this rental are accurate and overall, we enjoyed our time. However, we did learn a few things that we would like to pass along to help future travelers.
1st - The location. This unit is a cottage behind a large house (occupied by the owners) on the last lot on Weke Road before you arrive at the beach park adjacent to Hanalei Pier (Black Pot). The view from the lanai can be best characterized as "partial ocean view." I suspect that it was a bit better before some of the trees on the adjacent lot grew up. There is a lovely beachfront sitting area at the end of a small path that goes beside the owners house. When you walk off the property you are right on Hanalei beach. However, there are some drawbacks to this location. The biggest drawback is that Black Pot is very busy and some evenings there is a pretty good party there. This house sits almost on the road that leads to Black Pot and every night we had lots of road noise. Some cars would pull up to the speed bump (immediately behind the master bedroom) and burn out their rubber tires. This happened about 2 out of 7 nights.
2 - Flash Floods. The Hanalei River periodically floods and when it does, they close the road into Hanalei. People outside of Hanalei can't get in until the road is opened. During our visit, a flash flood warning was issued after we had left for the day and we were unable to get back to the cottage. We ended up without any possessions, going to a motel in Kapa'a for 1 night but the uncertainty was difficult and this was an unexpected expense. The expense wasn't the real problem though - one of our party requires daily medication that was in the Hanalei house and we were unable to get to it, nor did we know for how long this situation would persist. I wish that the owners would have briefed us about this potential and at least informed us to carry any necessary medications if we left the area. For future renters - always check the weather alerts and tune in to KONG 93.5
3. The house is charmingly designed and uniquely furnished however, during out visit, we had no working bathroom door in the master suite. We rigged a sheet over the shower door and swung it open to serve as a defacto door. However, for the price - I think that it is reasonable to expect a working door, especially because the view in is quite "exposed."
