Suncaliste d.o.o apartment is situated in Pula's most exclusive suburb - Pjescana Uvala and has spectacular views overlooking the bay. It also benefits from a large private terrace with sun loungers and dining furniture for 'al fresco' eating.
New WiFi for Summer 2015!
The kitchen is fully equipped or alternatively you could select the cuisine from the various restaurants around the beach and harbour areas which are 3 mins walk away. The apartment has a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and an inflatable double bed for the lounge area if required. It has a modern feel and a well equipped kitchen containing a full oven & hob. The terrace is 60m2 and the views are simply stunning.
One of the 6 or 7 restaurants in Pjescana Uvala, 'Valsabbion', regularly appears in the top 5 restaurants in Croatia. Previous guests have chartered a yacht from the marina, enjoyed walking, sightseeing and some a good book and a glass of wine on the terrace! It's the location of this apartment which makes it special !
The apartment is in Istria and this is a very special part of Croatia. This is because there is so much to see and do, within a very close area. Pula has stunning Roman antiquities as well as some lovely pebble beaches. The area of Cape Kamenjak is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Wonderful views, walks, beaches including the Safari Bar - well known place to grab lunch in among the shade of the sea grass. Rovinj, Porec and Vrsar are all about 30 - 45 minute drive. Each 3 are stunning harbour towns with cobbled streets cascading down from Bell Towers to Marinas. Plenty of shops in Rovinj and Porec. Vrsar is particularly beautiful around the Bell Tower and Church with views over the coast and islands. Vrsar has a sculpture park.
A trip to Brijuni Islands is a memorable trip. It's a boat trip from Fazana (20 minutes from Pula). The islands are beautiful and were once the home of President Tito. There is a very interesting museum showing his life history.
Novigrad is a lovely coastal town with restaurants and a marina and harbour. It also has a new water park which has recently opened if you like water slides! It is a 50 -60 minute drive from the apartment.
The east coast of Istria stretches all the way from Pula to Opatija. Labin is about a 40 minute drive. It's another lovely town with another Bell Tower and cobbled streets. It is home to many artists who have galleries. There is a sculpture park just outside town. On the coast below Labin is Rabac. This town has lovely small coves and a harbour. It is a little developed. After Labin, the east coast road is stunning as it hugs the coastline so the views are over the islands of Cres and Krk. Its a wonderful drive and after 20 minutes you will arrive at Moscenika Draga. Wonderful seaside town. Quite small. Restaurants all hug the beach. The is a lovely harbour. The Beach is very beautiful....however if you walk along the back of the beach a path leads to another beach which is just a little nicer and less busy. Many people do not know it exists! Then the coast continues to Opatija - a large town with boutiques and restaurants. The architecture is Austro Hungarian and the cars are Italian, red and sports cars!
However to go to Istria and only see the coast is to miss so much. Istria has a heart to it. Vineyards you can drop into and do some wine tasting, Olive groves to sample olive oil, Hill Towns, Stunning hills and views. Motovan is a small stunning hill town with beautiful little shops and galleries. Groznjan is another stunning little hill town. It is home to about a dozen art galleries and not much else...apart from the views, views and more views. There are a couple of restaurants.
3 star rating by Croatian Tourist Board
How to get there?: There are now several chartered flights direct to Pula from the UK - Thomson Flights is worth looking at. These are reasonable value outside of school holidays. Alternatively you can fly with Ryanair straight to Pula. Also Ryanair from various locations to Trieste in Italy (about 2 hour drive). Easyjet offer a service to Venice Marco Polo from several airports in the UK. Ryanairfly to Treviso/Venice.This will take about 3 hours 15 mins by car after that, but worth considering if Ryanair/Stansted is a bit far in the UK. Easyjet also fly to Ljubljana in Slovenia and this is about 2 hour drive.
This apartment has legal permissions: The apartment has been categorised by the Croatian Tourist Authority which means it is legal to rent this apartment (via our Croatian company - Suncaliste.d.o.o)
Some apartments in Croatia do not have the legal permissions and this can cause problems for tourists with the local authorities.
We are a young family of 4. We have enjoyed holidays at the apartment every year over the past 9 years. It is a safe environment in which the children have felt very comfortable. What we enjoy from our holidays may be what you like doing: Lots of swimming, walking, exploring, visiting SO many places of interest all of which are easy to get to withinn Istria, relaxing and reading and taking in the stunning views over the bay.
Sometimes we eat in and others we eat at various restaurants around the area.
Phil James purchased this apartment in 2003
We wanted to buy somewhere that we knew we would enjoy as a family holiday and not get tired of. Suncaliste is now part of us. We have long standing friendships with our neighbours. When we viewed the property, we saw about 10 properties for sale in and around Pula, Porec and Medulin and this one was the only one we were serious about. Once you see the view it will become clear. The other major factor is the fact it is in a village and has a friendly, exclusive feel to it with all necessary ammenities inclusing 2 good beaches a 3 minute walk from the apartment. However it is a 5 minute drive to 4 other beaches, 15 minutes to 3 further beaches, 5 minute drive or bus ride into Pula, easy to get to supermarkets. Finally the whole of Istria is available to you and this is a very special place and easily accessible.
Istria is a unique place in Europe. It is influenced by Italian, Croatian and Austro Hungarian heritage and this is found in the architecture, buildings, people and food. There is so much to see and most of it is very easy to get to. Roman ruins, Beautiful Islands, Spectacular views, Hilltop towns, Stunning harbour towns, Great Beaches, Shops, Leasure activities, Amazing churches, Incredible Frescos, Unesco Heritage Sites. These are just a few and all within 1 hour from Pjescana and the apartment.
Klimaanlage funktioniert gut.
Kaffeemaschine nicht vorhanden.Aber Espresso Maschine.
Wir waren sehr zufrieden!
A brilliant holiday apartment, within a five minute walk of two lovely beaches and a handful of great restaurants! The place was tidy and spacious with a wide terrace, perfect for spending time during the heat of the day. The atmosphere of the place was relaxing, relatively quiet at night with a buzz during the day! A good spot also as a base to look around Istria, including some idyllic towns, fantastic beaches and close enough to drive quickly to nearby supermarkets. Two weeks seemed to fly past and I would definitely go back given the chance!
Excellent apartment in a very pretty friendly village. Apartment spacious and spotlessly clean, everything you would want in the apartment for you to use. Beach in the village lovely the best one for us and we saw many. Restaurants and beach bar within walking distance. Pula a short drive away which is much busier. Information given by owner and at the property just adds to making this a really special place. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone.
We spent a wonderful week at suncaliste in september 2009.
The flat is comfortable and clean, the owners seem to think about everything a guest needs for his comfort!
The best thing is the wonderful terrace,it is a pleasure to enjoy that view at any time of the day!!
We spent every day at another beach and visited beautiful towns like Pula, Porec, Rovinj...
The apartment is ideal located for all these activities, but Pjescana`s beach is only a 5minutes walk away, also shops and restaurants for a day without the car.
We loved it very much and will return this year....
Having the last few years holidaying in Italy we thought it would be good to broaden our horizons - just a little!
Crotia having been featured in numerous press reports was said to be both beautiful and cheap! Pula and it's neighbours offered both history and a lack of commercialism that can be seen in many holiday resorts.
Pjescana Uvala offers an excellant villa with extensive views over the harbouir and coast and is only 10 minutes from the town centre.
It is a charming and relaxing area with a beach within a stones throw, several mini-markets and many excellant restaurants to take care of the "inner man."
Stansted and a number of municipal airports provide flights directly to Pula, with the airport being on the fringe oif the town thus avoiding the last minute coach journey.
The whole experience we found delightful and one which we have sampled twice already - do try it!
Pjescana Uvala is the smartest area of Pula. It has a few shops to provide essentials, 2 bakeries and several restaurants. It has a wonderful village atmosphere but Pula is only 5 mins away by car. Here you will find supermarkets, boutiques, numerous restuarants, wonderful historical Roman buildings and a large Roman amphitheatre dating from 1st Century BC.
Pjescana Uvala has two beaches both within a 3 minute walk and there are several other beaches within a 10 minute drive. All are pebbly and great for swimming any time of day. The area is ideal for sailing, walking, playing tennis and many more activities.
Pula is ideally located to use as a base from which to explore. The surrounding area offers lots to see and do, with the beautiful harbour towns of Porec, Vsar and Rovinj all within 45 minutes drive of Pula. You can also explore the wonderful mountain-top villages of Buje, Motovun, Groznjan, or take a 10 min trip by ferry across to the fantastic Brijuni Islands,
Other Activities: carting and regular concerts during the summer in the Amphitheatre
