Omena Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Waterfront with Dock. 4 bedroom,1 1/2 BA,Enclosed Porch, 1800 sq. ft. Historic.

Omena cottage description:

From the vantage point of a wide enclosed porch of this classic summer cottage is a place to view the turquoise blue of Omena Bay, sunsets, passing boats, to catch a breeze and find calm. This cherished cottage rests in a woodsy landscape at the west facing curve of the bay. It was built, as were other cottages of this vintage, as an annex to the Hotel Leelanau as a summer retreat. The kitchen and more modern conveniences were added much later. This is a picturesque setting, a great place to dock a boat, swim and enjoy cocktails or write your next novel in the shade of an octagonal gazebo near the shore.

Our cottage sits on a natural rocky shore line, and for those that want sand between their toes, there is a public sandy beach within walking distance.

This beautiful vintage cottage on Grand Traverse Bay features 4 bedrooms and

1 1/2 baths. Shower only (no tub). Sleeps up to 7. With 1 Queen bed,1 Full bed, 3 Twin Beds. A spacious living room/dining area and an enclosed porch provides plenty of room to stretch out and relax.

Why Mary Kondrat chose Omena

Our classic cottage in Omena offered us a nostalgic “Up North” experience. We fell in love with the charming details and secluded location on the bay. The cottage sits on a west facing peninsula that offers breathtaking sunsets. The deep water bay allows us endless boating and sailing opportunities right in our own back yard.We love that we are part of a very quaint small town and yet when we want a reprise from the seclusion, we are so close to what Traverse City has to offer. Endless events, culinary delights, and a full service regional airport. We have the best of both worlds.

What makes this cottage unique

Spectacular Sunsets. Direct access to Sailing/Boating on Grand Traverse Bay.

Omena Cottage

  • 5 of 5
it was everything we look for in a cottage. The location was perfect for day trips and exploring the Leeland peninsula and or just relaxing on the beach in front of the house. The furnishing were beautifully appointed and comfortable. My family truly loved our stay. we did not want to leave. The only down side was, one shower.

Owner's Response: Thank you Sandra for taking the time to review our cottage. We are happy that you were able to explore the area and spend some time down by the lake. Yes, having only one shower in an older home can be inconvenient when several guest are staying at the cottage. We are glad that the rest of the cottage worked out well during your stay.

Lovely place!

  • 5 of 5
Our family had a relaxing and peaceful week at this lovely cottage. The quiet wooded setting meant that we were not aware of the nearby cottages. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable, with plenty of room and plenty of comfortable furniture--elegant and cozy at the same time. There are many modern conveniences and additional thoughtful touches. We spent a lot of time on the large porch overlooking the bay, enjoying the view and the peace. We highly recommend this place, and hope to return next year.

Great Home

  • 5 of 5
Great location weather looking to get away from it all or wanting to experience downtown Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Kids enjoyed playing on the water and walking to the park down the street. Very pleased with the rental, clean and the owners are very helpful if have any questions with the property and helpful if looking for suggestions to check out in the area.
