Our comfortable family holiday self catering apartments in Obertraun are less than 1 minutes walk from the shore of Lake Hallstatt in the heart of the Austrian Lake District just 70 minutes drive form Salzburg.

We are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and we are perfectly situated for summer or winter holidays by yourself or with family and friends. In the winter months there is fantastic skiing and boarding on the Krippenstein, just 5 minutes from our door. The extensive Dachstein West Ski region is just 20 minutes by car with great ski schools, runs for all abilities and best of all no queues!

In summer there are a huge range of activities to keep everyone occupied on our doorstep from swimming, fishing, canoeing, scuba diving, mountain biking, walking, hiking, climbing, paragliding, golf, white water rafting and caving

Bike hire: We now have mountain bikes for hire, at 12 Euro per day or 60 Euro per week.

Canoe hire: We have a 4 person Canadian canoe available to hire. Hire price includes life jackets.

The region around Lake Hallstatt was awarded the status of “World Heritage region” by UNESCO in 1997. There are many significant areas of interest within walking distance like the Salt mine in Hallstatt, the magnificent Dachstein Caves and Hallstatt town itself. Other great days out are Salzburg (70 minutes by car), Bad Ischl and St Wolfgang.

Ski: Obertraun is the home of the Krippenstein Freeride Arena, voted number one in Europe for off piste skiing! The Krippenstein is also home to Austria's longest descent at 11kilometers. The ski pass covers the Dachstein West ski region which has over 140 kilometres of pistes & is an ideal area for the whole family. The area is one of Austria's best kept secrets & as such has few queues even in February.

  • It is possible to sleep 6 people in the apartment - 2 on a double sofa bed in the lounge. Some of our larger two bedroom apartments have single sofa beds in the bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 8 people. The Austrian twin beds are very comfortable having separate mattresses and quilts. All bedrooms have a double wardrobe and bedside tables. There are extra wardrobes in the lounge area should you need extra storage space..people.

We are 1 minutes walk from the bathing beach on the lake and right next to the walking and cycle trails. As of May 1st all the trails are open.
