About Cathy Bella

We grew up in Southern California. My husband spent his summers in Bucksport as a kid working on his uncle's dairy farm. I've been a city girl my whole life with a passion for animals and fell in love with Bucksport the first time I saw it when I was 22 years old. We purchased the un-winterized 'camp' to vacation in summer before we purchased our first home! We built the new Cottage in 2005 in the same spot the old camp was located and plan to spend retirement years in the summer here.

Cathy Bella purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Cathy Bella chose Orland

We chose this property because of the beauty of the lake, the wild life, close to town as well as close to Bar Harbor, Acadia, Deer Isle, Ellsworth, Bangor, Castine and Camden. We love the small town atmosphere and the closeness to larger cities for convenience.

What makes this cottage unique

Fantastic views from the living room of the lake to see the loons, ducks, deer, turkeys, chipmunks, butterflies, birds, turtles, squirrels, an Eagle once in awhile. The setting is so peaceful by the lake, hearing the water, birds, and the sounds of nature. The view is breath taking and sitting outdoors to enjoy it is a favorite past time. Yet it is convenient to town and bigger cities. The house is a cottage, but with all the modern conveniences, modern kitchen, great master suite, front load washer and dryer, internet, central vacuum, and a 50' HDTV.

Maine October vacation

  • 5 of 5

Cathy:

We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent in your lovely cabin. It was very well furnished and felt like we were home, except we do not live on a lake. The property was very accessible to attractions and we saw a lot of the Maine coast and woods, especially since the weather was nice and warm for the time of the year. We hope you enjoy your property during your retirement years and wish you the best of success. The manager, Sandy, was a delight to work with as well. Eric & Tricia

Highly recommend this cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at the Bella Cottage. We loved the rural location, without it being too remote. We were able to spend time in Bar Harbor & Acadia Nat'l Park on three different days, enjoying the drive in each time. We were very impressed with the location, amenities, and cleanliness of the cottage. The pond is quite large, and in a private and beautiful location. Sandy, the property manager was wonderful and made our entire week a most enjoyable one. Thank you to Cathy, the owner, for answering our initial questions. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would definitely consider renting your cottage in the future. We hope to be back next year!

Cottage on a Lake

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful cottage on a lake was the perfect get-away! The cottage was spotless and the kitchen was a dream to cook in as it had every appliance and gadget you would ever need. The cottage was close enough to drive to the national park as well as convenient to do other site-seeing and hiking along the coast of Maine. If you opened up the patio doors in the morning or at dusk, you could hear the loons on the lake - very relaxing. We would definitely want to stay at this cottage if we return to Maine.
