This is a superb 3 bedroom bungalow just a few minutes walk from a beautiful sandy beach, and has wonderful coastal walks right on your doorstep. It’s also ideal for keen golfers as it is situated approximately 200 meters from Gweedore Golf Club, (please ask us for website link) which is a fantastic 9 Hole links course with breathtaking views over the Atlantic. The house itself has been lovingly decorated and furnished to a very high standard. With 3 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with capacity to sleep up to 9 people in comfort. The house also boasts a large, fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons, and a spacious living room with an open fire (turf supplied), the house also has oil fired central heating. We are positioned in a excellent location for discovering the north west Donegal coastline and islands with regular ferry crossing to the island of Gola, just a few minutes walk from your front door, and also twice daily sailings to Tory Island from the nearby Bun beg Harbour.

Derrybeg is located in the area known as, Gweedore (Irish: Gaoth Dobhair) is an Irish-speaking district located on the Atlantic coast of County Donegal. Gweedore is officially the largest Irish-speaking parish in Ireland. The parish has a population of around 5,000 residents, though English is very well accepted. Gweedore is world-renowned for its beautiful physical features. Probably the most recognisable feature is Mount Errigal, the tallest mountain in County Donegal. It is surrounded by the deep glens and misty lakes of the Poisoned Glen, and further on, Glenveagh National Park and castle, the largest national park in Ireland. The Gweedore coastline consists of long sandy beaches and rugged cliffs. Also, off the Gweedore coastlines are many beautiful islands, including Gola, and Tory. Behind you a series of spectacular mountains, glens and bogs have, combined with the bracing winter climate, kept this part of the world relatively secluded.

  • The sleeping arrangements consist of 3 large bedrooms with the main bedroom and second bedroom looking out on a view of Mount Errigal to the east. The house is also finished off with wooden floors through-out.

Because the house is situated on land used for grazing sheep, it is essential that dogs be keep on a lead and never left to roam free. Local Bars: Leo’s Tavern is one of Donegal’s most famous pubs. Leo himself is an extremely popular musician, father of the highly renowned Clannad, and of course the success story of Enya. Clannad began their career on this very stage. ENYA the younger daughter, who needs no introduction for her musical achievements, had her album ‘Watermark’ a No. 1 seller and ‘Orinoco Flow’ charted all over the world. At Leo’s Tavern, the walls display gold, silver and platinum discs of this amazingly talented family. Because of their career they attract many of their musical friends who perform or just enjoy the night’s entertainment - from U2, Paul Brady, Christie Moore to name but a few. Sure drop in, you’d never know who you might meet. Bar food is served with an appetising menu.

Sean Og's: Seán Óg Bar & Lounge- Gweedore, was established in 2001. We are located right in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht. It is situated on the site of the old Mící Gora Bar that was closed for many years. Seán Óg got its name from the field in which it is built, it was called Ard Sheán Óig and so the name originated from there. It’s a great place to go for a lively ping of the black stuff.

Golf: GWEEDORE GOLF CLUB. Gweedore Golf Club Right outside your door latterly 2 minutes walk from the back door and you’re at the 1st tee. This is a great little 9 hole course that will test the best of golfers, please ask us for their website link to get more information. CRUIT ISLAND GOLF CLUB. Another amazing 9 hole course, just about 20 minutes drive south around the coast. Follow the signs for Donegal Air Port and you’ll come on a turn off to the rite just before the Viking Hotel, follow that road over the bridge to the very end and then you will find out why you went to all that bother. This is a truly spectacular place and a wonderful Golf Course, please ask us for their website link to get more information.

A great holiday home

This is an excellent holiday home in a beautiful part of Donegal. The property had everything a couple or family could possibly want, with lovely views, within easy reach of nice beaches and a few minutes drive to pubs/hotels for food. You could walk to the pubs/a hotel but it was abit further than we thought and up a good size hill. However, the peace and quiet and views from the property make this an ideal retreat which I would recommend to anyone.

A Perfect Family Cottage

I'd recommend this property without reservation. It was clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Plenty of room for our party of four adults and two children.

There are lots of beautiful beaches nearby with rock pools, lots of space for games on the sand, and at Bunbeg beach there is even a shipwreck to investigate and an island to wade across to.

We had a really relaxing two week holiday and the cottage felt like a real home rather than just a holiday rental.
