50ft surf front infinity pool perfectly positioned to watch world class surf action at the Panga Drops surf break directly out front. Infinity swimming pool also enjoys spectacular sunset views of the magnificent Los Perros point. Fort Walker is a truly remarkable home with a well thought out, functional design. Ample upwind openings, deep terraces on southern elevations and the biggest balcony along the beachfront give for incredible spaces to live, lounge and luxuriate.
Fort Walker takes inspiration from centuries old Spanish colonial architecture. Distributed over two floors with its master suite downstairs by the pool, three further bedrooms upstairs and a stand alone casita in the garden this home comfortably accommodates ten guests. The master suite has a king size bed; the remaining four bedrooms each have a convertible king/ twin bed. This allows near complete flexibility in sleeping arrangements for up to 10 guests. The main house has an atrium style living room with multiple upwind openings to the prevailing northeasterly winds. Full width bi-fold doors give incredible ocean and surf break views from the living/ dining area and kitchen. Southern elevations have deep shade structures to keep the sun out of the house and create fresh covered terraces to relax by the pool and enjoy the views. The furniture is handmade from precious hardwood trees recovered in the wake of tropical storms in Nicaragua’s RAAN province along the northern border with Honduras. The furniture was hand made to the highest levels of quality by one of Nicaragua’s leading carpenters in the crafts & folklore capital, Masaya.

***Where exactly is Fort Walker located?***
This unique home is located on the beachfront within the Hacienda Iguana resort in Nicaragua’s southern Tola province. Just steps from the Panga Drops surf break of which the house has direct views or an enjoyable ten minute walk up the beach to Colorados aka ‘the Nicaraguan pipeline’. Hike the Los Perros point to gaze incredible views up the coast or stroll the beach in the other direction to the quaint fishing village of Gigante.
***Activities? Things to do?***
We can assist with organizing excellent in-house massages for $30/hr. We can line up fishing boats to take you out and catch your dinner, or transport you around the local surf breaks. The inshore views of the coastline are stunning, the fishing bountiful and the surf as consistent as exists on the planet. There’s more to Nicaragua than epic surf and beautiful beaches. Nicaragua is culturally rich, geographically diverse and has many authentic and as yet unspoiled treasures. You should plan to visit the Island of Ometepe or go see colonial Granada. Our safe & salaried drivers are on hand to take you wherever you need to go and show you the very best of this beautiful land. There are too many activities to list here, so don’t hesitate to get in touch via the form below and we look forward to being of assistance to you in planning your vacation!
Seven of us flew to Nicaragua to celebrate my 40th birthday. It will be a trip that I never forget! From the moment we stepped off the plane, we were taken care of. We had several requests throughout our stay - from special meals, a cake, surf lessons, wine runs, boogie boards, to a wonderful day trip - everything was taken care of. The service was something I had never experienced before in all of my travels. We were truly spoiled.
The house is spectacular! Frankly, the pictures don't do it justice. The location is amazing - for those who can't just sit still and enjoy the beautiful pool and ocean just steps away, the small village is an hour's walk along the sand, or you can hike up the hill down the beach. But the best part, for me, was the cooking!!! The meals were delicious! We had something different every day for seven straight days! And it was all wonderful!! We cannot recommend this place enough! I cannot wait to go back... but next time, we'll stay longer! Thank you so much for making my 40th celebration so special!
Our 11 member family of three generations celebrated Thanksgiving at this magnificent home. We were pampered and cared for by the staff. Wonderful meals, mega trips by various Nicaragua 365 staff to support us - ice, surf lessons, booze, etc, etc. Anything we needed, they were there to assist.
Getting that kind of service in such a remote part of the world was amazing!
We can't recommend this beautiful home enough. The teen agers were either in the pool, in the ocean or hiking. The adults sat, swam, hiked, drank and watched the kids, the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets and the incredible waves.
I helped coordinate a 10 day stay with 10 friends at Fort Walker. The group was a mix of couples and individuals, surfers and non-surfers. The home's configuration of bedrooms/bathrooms and suites were a perfect solution. The living areas are incredibly spacious and inviting- ideal for indoor/outdoor living. The location can't be beat for surfers or beach-lovers. For those afraid of waves (which this beach definitely has), the pool is a perfect alternative. Coordinating transfers for the group was a breeze- even multiple trips to Managua and a border crossing to Costa Rica! The staff that looks after the home provide incredible, friendly hospitality. We chose to have our entire stay catered and found the quality of food to be excellent.
If you are looking for a large, well-designed oceanfront home with direct access to surf that accommodates a big group of discerning travelers this is an excellent choice.
my wife and I brought our 2month old there and we were the first guests to stay in this house. it was amazing. great attention to detail on the construction, nice open-aired layout, great view of panga drops, sturdy wifi, and magnificent pool just a few feet from the high-tide line. more than that, however, was the attentiveness of the staff. Gloria kept the house tidy and cooked great meals for us every day, and in particular David, Nelson and James were jonny-on-the-spot with attending to our concerns/scares (1 tsunami warning, 2 small quakes, and my baby's first cold...they immediately got us to an american doctor 20mins away). potential improvements will probably come over time as the house is more used---could have used a few more towels, some standardized grocery stocking (to avoid costly catering or car rental), and a shaded wading area in the pool. all in all our group had a great stay and would go back and recommend to others---it's the nicest house on a really nice beach. thanks guys!
