My husband and I are an English/American couple with a 4 year & a 5 month old! We are based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn but desperately needed a place to escape too. So with a lot of hard work we managed to buy our country home. It's taken a year to get it looking good, and we are constantly working on improvements & new projects. We love our country home & we hope you will too!
Lindsay Lever purchased this house in 2013
For us it was the perfect location. Set back from the road it offered us the privacy we desired but so close to Rhinebeck, Redhook & Kingston. We fell in love with Rhinebeck on our 1st visit. The town, shops & amazing restaurants. Spring time is our favorite season when wild flowers bloom on every corner. The locally grown fresh fruit & vegetables our some of the most delicious we have ever tried and we love bringing our load back to city with us to enjoy for the rest of the week.
First the owners are very easy to deal with. I was able to call, email, or text when I had a question. Quick responses, even on Christmas Eve.
I would recommend this house with out any hesitation for someone looking for a place in Dutchess county. There were 8 of us staying here for five days at Christmas time, five adults and three children. House had everything we needed. Toys at the house are great for kids to play with. Most importantly the house was clean and exactly as advertised. Everything that we needed was supplied at the house. House is set back from the road and close to Rhinebeck and surrounding area. Christmas day went great. We cooked and had a fun relaxing day with the family. We are looking forward to a return in the summer to take advantage of the pool.
We shared this house for a week while attending a retreat at Omega. We loved the house as it had all the amenities one could ask for, was super clean, well stocked with great appliances, and a wonderful gas fireplace which we looked forward to coming home to every evening. Our gratitude to the owners for providing this home away from home!
We stayed at this beautiful house in September this year. The scenery is gorgeous. We were very impressed with all the amenities that were provided, everything you need is supplied. It is very clean and well presented.
The location is perfect, short drive from the lovely town of Rhinebeck and surrounding areas, but you still feel like you're in the country. There are lots of activities for all the family. Well recommended. Will definitely stay there again.
We came across this house when looking for somewhere to stay in the Hudson River Valley. My wife and I and our son stayed here for four days and did some sightseeing in the area. The home is in a great location, minutes from the Hudson river and minutes from the Town of Rhinebeck. Also, it is only a few miles from the FDR and Vanderbilt Mansions. Poets Walk Park is nearby and we really enjoyed the views of the river there.
The home was beautifully renovated and spacious. The bathrooms were very clean and the kitchen was recently renovated. Also, the bedrooms had plenty of room and very comfortable beds. All of the linens were in great shape as well. It was also very useful to not have to bring any major items for our son as they provided a travel crib and high chair along with lots of amazing toys.
We do not travel very often, so for us it was very important to find a comfortable home to stay in and this house soared past our expectations. On a final note, the house owner was very helpful in suggesting restaurants and activities in the area. She was very responsive and served as a great resource and help to us during our stay. We ate at Gigi Trattoria and Market Street in town and the farm-fresh food was amazing.
We would highly recommend this property for anybody interested in staying in the area.
We had a wonderful time at this home this past August. The home is located down a long private driveway which is nice and secluded. Its a charming home with nice character with a beautifully renovated interior. The whole home is clean with updated appliances and nice hardwood floors. The master bathroom is amazing with a hot tub. There are huge flatscreen TVs in the home which are nice but we didn't even use them because the pool area is where most of our time was spent. The pool area and in ground pool are truly impressive. Its nicely fenced in which gives great privacy. The pool area was a blast. We never left it and loved it. The pictures don't even do it justice. Town is only 5 minutes away which was so convenient. That's why you get the best of both worlds in this home. You get the seclusion of a deep country home with the convenience of city living. Anything you need is a five minute car ride away but once you go down the private driveway you're back in a quiet secluded wooded area. It is truly a gem in the beautiful area of Rhinebeck, NY. The landlord Lindsey is super nice and accomodating. A total pleasure to deal with. We all loved the whole experience and would absolutely book this home again. I highly recommend it to everyone. You will not regret it.
