Bali, Indonesia - Paradise for a Canadian Family

Will,
We truly enjoyed our month spent in Candi Dasa! The location (peaceful, on the beach, and well out of the tourist areas), the sunsets, the sunrises, the people (Siki, Ani, Komang, Ayu) - everything was outstanding. Lesley, Alexandra, Ryan and I enjoyed every peaceful day we had in your wonderful villa home.
When we looked for adventure there was the dive center right next door (thank you Siki), riding elephants through the jungle, visiting the Natural Park with 400+ Macau monkeys, diving Tulumben and the wreck, or surfing of the south coast.
The one thing that is difficult to describe to those who have not visited the island, is the culture of Bali. The people are genuine, helpful, pleased to see you, and very friendly should you make an effort to get to know them. The "community" of Bali is like no other that we have come across in all our travels.
We thought that having a hotel next door to the property might impinge on our privacy, but found the exact opposite. For Lesley it was a source of fine Balinese dinners delivered to our outside dining room, and the hotel more than welcomed us when we were looking for a social atmosphere - ended up being a great feature!
Thank you again for sharing your warm, comfortable, and truly delightful ocean front villa with us. Should anyone wish to talk with us about our stay (not long enough), please do not hesitate to reach us.
The very best.
