This fantastic San Francisco apartment is located in a beautiful 1920s style building with Mediterranean influences. Top floor garden-facing unit has been extensively renovated, featuring remodeled kitchen, refinished hardwood floors, updated bathroom, new carpet, all new furniture, all new dining ware. The location is in the San Francisco village of West Portal which features an abundance of international restaurants (Peruvian, Chinese, Sushi, Indian, Mexican, American, Turkish, Italian and many more). Close to Cine Arts movie house and public library. The property is just steps away from the Metro line and is a half block from West Portal light rail station. Access to downtown SF, Financial District, the Mission, The Castro, South of Market and the Embarcadero Ferry Building is a short 15-20 minute trip. 94 Walk Score.

The apartmwnt was exactly as advertised, the communications, directions, etc, were all appropriate and helpful. The facilities were comfortable and spacious for a one bedroom apartment, the kitchen well equipt. The location was perfect for us (we know West Portal quite well).
The one thing that could be changed to improve our stay (and our future stays, we hope), is to obtain a firmer mattress and bedspring. The mattress was soft and sagged toward the middle.
This apartment was quiet, clean, very comfortable, super convenient for catching Muni trains into the city or to the beach/zoo. The owner was very responsive and helpful whenever i had any question. Great kitchen, plenty of closet space, all the channels most folks would want on the TV, good water pressure, and convenient coin-op-washer-dryer just steps from the front door was helpful too. The location is right on the main street with all the charming small-townish shops, theater, restaurants. It's up 2 flights of stairs, and nearby parking is a hassle, so I would not recommend it to folks who have difficulty with stairs or who have a rental car and don't want to have to move it frequently or pay $16/day into the parking meters...
two of us spent and enjoyable week in san francisco visiting family. location was wonderful for access to the muni. west portal is a destination in and of itself. apartment was exceptionally clean, well equipped and quiet. we were concerned about off street parking for family picking us up, since we did not rent a car, but this posed no problem. nor was getting a fresh cup of java since there are three coffee shops directly across the street. we will be back. the business end of things was seamless.
The apartment was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The neighborhood was great. There were many good restaurants and shops with in walking distance. The public transportation was a half a block away. I hope to stay again.
