|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
Private and peaceful, this reasonably priced Rockaway vacation rental home strikes just the right balance between comfort, convenience, and location. Relax at the picnic table in the grassy yard and watch your dog(gies - two max for $10 each per day - $40 minimum per stay) cavort, or cross the street to Rockaway's long beach where they - and you! - can play in the waves. Inside, you can pass the time with amenities like TV with cable and a DVD player, or flip on the gas grill and gather 'round a barbequed meal out back.
This a cozy space, with beautiful dark hardwood floors, and soft furniture that's meant to make no other statement than "make yourself comfortable." Slip one of the CDs you brought along into the player listen to music as you indulge in a game of Battleship, spread out on the big coffee table. Come back from your walk on the beach and cue up a movie on DVD or VHS (bring some of those along too!) Or, just settle in with a cup of coffee and one of the books from the shelf and enjoy some quiet time. Bring up the laptop with the free WiFi and check tee-times or local events.
If you've planned your menu for meals and brought the requisite supplies, you shouldn't have any trouble fixing anything from pancakes to pasta in this fully equipped kitchen. There's a stove, oven, and fridge you'd expect, but there's a microwave as well for those times when you want to just warm up something on the run. You'll have all the pots, pans and utensils you need. When the meal's ready, call everyone to the table where six can sit and enjoy the feast as they discuss the day's adventures or plan tomorrows. At meal's end, have everyone roll up their sleeves and make quick work of the dishes. There's no dishwasher.
Come bedtime, head upstairs where you'll find two bedrooms. One has queen bed in a decor that's simple yet cozy, with reading lamps by the bed and a writing desk by the window through which you'll get a partial view of the ocean just across the street. Kids of all ages will love the twin-over-full bunk beds in the second bedroom. Flip for the top bunk! There's one full bathroom, and you'll have a washer and dryer to use, so don't overpack!
Access to Rockaway's seven miles of beautiful sandy beach is right across the street. After spending some time in the sand, swimming, sunning, clamming...whatever, take the camera and a picnic lunch over to one of three state parks in the area, including awe-inspiring Twin Rocks where you can explore the shore or hike up and savor some scenic vistas. If you're into lighthouses, head over to Netarts, about seven miles west of Tillamook, and check out the Cape Meares Lighthouse. While you're in the Tillamook area, take the kids over to the cheese factory and sign up for one of the tours of the facility.
Come join the legion of vacationers who find the peace and tranquility of little Rockaway Beach a great place to escape and re-energize. And, while you're there, make this cozy cottage - close to sites, a market, shops, and dining downtown - your getaway haven!

The house itself was a nice, older place. Good location. Our only complaint was the very squeaky floorboards and squeaky stairs. The bathroom is on the bottom floor and the bedrooms are on the top floor. When my husband went to use the restroom in the middle of the night, the squeaking was loud enough to rattle me awake (I am a light sleeper, so perhaps it wouldn't be as bad for others).
Our recent visit to Rockaway Beach was most enjoyable. The area has a lot of fun shops to browse about in neighboring towns. All of which are within about 10 min. drive-or 25 min. walk in most directions from your location. The beach area is lovely, and very close to the Cottage itself. The cottage does offer a well stocked kitchen/dinning area to enjoy your meals and discuss your days findings along the shore or downtown shops. There are many fun-local restaurants you'll want to try while your enjoying your stay at the cottage as well. Folks are extremely friendly in the area and the neighborhood itself. Enjoyed Oregon shoreline trip very much. I suspect anyone visiting the area will as well. March was kind to us with sunny skies and warm temps.
The fit my needs perfectly! The updated kitchen counter-top and cookware made the vacation home feel like being home.
I loved being outside and seeing all the stars. We had a wonderful view of the Milky Way Galaxy during out stay.
What a great spot to be!
Great house the south end of Rockaway Beach. There are 2 beach access spots within a block of the house. The one just north of the house is a. much easier path. Fun place to stay with kids, with huge yard.
