About Lisa and Tim Savard

For 22 years, we owned the Cabins at Lopstick in Pittsburg, NH. Hosting guests from all over the world who traveled to northern New Hampshire to fishing, vacation, snowmobile and and hunt. In 2008, we bought a little cabin on Rock Creek. We rented it out until 2013 when we sold Lopstick and moved permanently to Montana to fish, hike and hunt Montana. Of all the places we've fished in the American West, we chose Rock Creek as our home.

Lisa and Tim Savard purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Lisa and Tim Savard chose Missoula

In 2014 when the opportunity arose to purchase the property that we share a driveway with, we made the decision to go back into the cabin rental business and share once again, this incredible area of Montana.

What makes this cabin unique

Golden Stone is an ample sized, four bedroom vacation home with a gas fireplace, lovely covered farmer's porch, large, fully equipped kitchen. Just a short walk to the river's edge and the Sawmill Creek Fishing Access, and you'll be wading in the Blue Ribbon Trout Stream, Rock Creek, fishing for cuts, rainbows, browns, and bull trout. The 360 degree views of the Sapphire Mountains is nothing short of stunning.

Perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is just perfect. It is comfortable and cozy yet easily handled the eight people in our group. The kitchen is wonderful and open to the living room so all can easily gather in the large area. It is beautifully decorated and well stocked. Tim and Lisa could not have been more accommodating and hospitable and nice. They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. Highly recommend and look forward to returning one day.

Unbelievable! Perfect in every way!

This property was a piece of heaven, and the hosts could not be nicer or more hospitable.

We were knocked out by the location, of course, but we were also knocked out by the comforts of the place. Beautifully decorated throughout.

The kitchen was particularly impressive -- large and had absolutely everything you could dream of needing, in beautiful condition.

We loved cooking together. Breakfasts reached a new level of heaven!

The bathrooms (2) were stocked with endless numbers of fluffy towels. Yum!

The beds were comfortable, and everyone was warm and cozy.

The sitting areas (inside and out) had beautiful furniture. We enjoyed the fireplace (though it would be good to have the directions for lighting the fire make clear which direction opens the flue, into the room, or into the wall. We couldn't seem to maximize the airflow at the beginning.)

The porch was a terrific place to start the day, with visiting hummingbirds and the occasional sound of roosters and horses, even the occasional eagle cry.

The books in the living room were perfect for curling up with on their plush, comfy couch. We learned about walking trails nearby and took a number of them (the one in Idaho, with the hot springs, was particularly delightful, but so was trail 10 walking up the nearby mountain)

Was counting my blessing as I read the short story "The River Runs Through" which was there. Highly recommended read during your visit -- it includes a bit about that very river you can hear in the background during the spring melt, if you sleep with the windows open.

We came to visit family in Missoula, but our alone time together at this cabin was perfect. A real opportunity to quietly connect with one another.

Lisa was an extraordinarily gracious hostess, and has done a wonderful job of creating a beautiful place for guests to come visit gorgeous Montana.

If you have the chance to visit this corner of heaven on earth, don't hesitate. Everything you see in the pictures are here, and more.
