The property is a traditional Canarian house that has been renovated to a very high standard. All fixtures and fittings are new, with Zanussi appliances etc. The house is situated 5 min walk from the centre of Teguise, the ancient and pretty capital of Lanzarote, but the location is peaceful and very relaxed. Ideally situated to explore the island by the excellent road network. Within 10 minutes drive of the golf course! Heated swimming pool and satellite TV. Sunday sees the huge and colourful market in the streets of Teguise. Famara beach is only 15 min drive away. We can organise car hire etc for you and any requests for extra beds and cots. We can also advise on where to visit etc having lived on the island for 14 years. We will meet you from the airport and a welcome pack awaits you in the spacious country kitchen. There is internet access close by in the village, 7 minutes walk from the house at the La Tahona bar and restaurant next to the town hall.

'Country House Lanzarote' is situated on the outskirts of the capital village of Teguise. 5 minutes walk from the centre but in a peaceful and rural situation. The village itself has a number of very good restaurants with all types of cuisine available. There are also local shops and a variety of historic places to visit including the castle up on the hill which is now a museum. On Sundays is the biggest market on the island which fills up all the local streets. Teguise is central to the island and ideally situated to explore by road the many pretty sights. Also ideally situated for bike rides or walking holidays. There is internet access close by in the village.

  • The main bathroom is large with plenty of space, a walk-in shower with a large rose. Tiled floor with high wood-beamed ceilings. The second bathroom is en-suite and makes up part of the master-bedroom although seperated by a high wall. Both bathrooms have large mirrors and are tastefully furnished and decorated.

Notes: The garden is a two-tired cactus garden with 26 different varieties of cactus from all over the world.You can enjoy the sun and the tranquility using the comfortable deck-chairs provided by the house. You have lovely views over the to village and to the castle perched above Teguise, which is now a museum dedicated to the story of the immigration from the island to the Americas during the last 2 centuries. The whole house is decorated and furnished to a high standard with wooden doors and windows in the old Canarian style....wooden shutters etc. Children could enjoy themselves in the garden and the surrounds because the setting is primarily rural and there is little traffic. We supply DVDs and music Cd's..........including cartoons for the children. There is satellite TV in German, English, French, Spanish and other languages.

Costa Teguise golf course is only 10 minutes drive a way.........A beautiful course, an oasis of green in the volcanic surround. The ' rough ' tends to be a bit rocky so bring along an old club to chip out.

Golf: The golf course at Costa teguise is 10 minutes drive away from the house. The course is located between the villages of Tahiche and Costa Teguise with panoramic views towards the capital town of Arrecife and beyond to Fuerteventura. The course is an oasis of green below the volcano (extinct ) of Tahiche. The fairways and greens are beautifully managed.The rough is ' very rough '.bring an old club to chip out of the volcanic rocks. The clubhouse is nicely situated above the 18th green and offers moderately priced drinks and food in a nice ambiance.

We had a lovely week's holiday based in this villa. It lived up to expectations, Its was very clean, comfortabled, well equiped kitchen, handy little pool. There were extras on arrived like a large bowl of fruit. Very quiet which suited us. We would definitely recommend the villa but remember, in the desciption it say one shower and that is true but not a problem.
Recommendation: Found restaurant Acatife expensive and disappointing, But do visit La Tahona and Patio del Vino. Do visit the Teguise market and the castle. Best vine yard El Grifo, lovely white wine. Visit all things Cesar Manrique too many to mention. Find beach in the north Caleton Blanco near Orzola. Get AA Spiral Guide Lanzarote. Also get Walk Lanzarote by David + Ros Brawn. Do walk 35 Caldera Blanca spectacular views over southern volcanoes.
You must visit the volcanoes.

nice relaxing holiday in lanzarote

we had no problems and the photos are what really convinced us to take the house.

my wife is really particular about cleanliness and order and she´s still telling her friends about the house and how well-kept it was.

The area is excellent for walking and we explored some of the extinct volcanoes which dot the area. The village of Teguise is only 5 minutes walk away and it has a lot of nice restaurants. Famara beach down the road is very unspoilt and well worth a visit. The Sunday market is very colourful and typically Canarian.

A very good holiday. We will probably repeat in the future.

A relaxing holiday

Nigel and Luisa have put together a superbly furnished great place to stay, in an excellent location on the edge of old Teguisse.
This is ideal if you want to have peace and quiet, but still be close enough to all the action on the coast and Arricife.
Being at the centre of the island makes it ideal for getting to all the sites. Highly recommended

Also thanks to Roger for his help and recommendations of eateries etc.

beautiful rural holiday

Myself, my wife and our family of 3 children stayed at this house in the village of Teguise.......It was an ideal holiday home, close to the village with a selection of good restaurants ...we especially recommend Bar La Tahona with its cheap but excellent tapas and rationes. The house was in a quiet spot with hardly any passing traffic and ideally situated to explore the island. Thanks to Nigel and Roger and Luisa for looking after us. Hopefully we'll be back. Terry and Rosemary and kids.....Chorleywood. Herts. UK.

quiet, traditional house in Teguise

The house is located quiet with view on the center of Teguise. Teguise is central on Lanzarote and a good place to explore the island in every direction. The house is beautifully furnished. The kitchen is really fully equipped, and the kitchenware was of higher quality than in most other places we stayed in. The beds are really large (1,60m and 1,50m) and have coverlets like they are used in Germany.
The house is not standalone but semi detached. There is a cactus garden in front of the house but only the terrace and the patio can be used to sit in. The fireplace is not in use. Unfortunately, the weather was wet and chilly at our stay (begin of March). For this type of weather the house is not the best choice. There has been no internet access. In one of the sleeping rooms there are two roof windows without possibility to cover them so we woke up at the first light of the day. The other sleeping room is only accessible crossing the patio.

Thankyou.We agree that the house is beautifully furnished . We have spent a lot of money on the furnishings and fittings.trying to give it a 5-star finish.

We have now fitted blinds on the 2 skylight windows to enable people to " sleep-in ".

The cactus garden has 26 varieties of cactus and we have fitted a seating area so that people can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the garden.ideal for reading and watching the world go by.

The fireplace is not used due to the smoke and dust it would emit making dirty all the fixtures and fittings..it is decorative only. We do supply 3 large electric heaters which are more than adequate to heat the house.

Internet access.as mentioned in the information is in an internet cafe in the village. 7 minutes walk from the house, next to the Town Hall. The charges are very reasonable.50 cents for 15 minutes- The cafe.bar is called " La Tahona " and offers good traditonal tapas and local cuisine. fresh sea.food etc.

The other sleeping room .there are 3 bedrooms .not 2 .......is a self-contained bedroom with en-suite bathroom.it has an original 4-poster bed ( see photos ).access is via the swimming-pool patio.10 seconds from the kitchen.

We hope that the Hamburg couple enjoyed their holiday on beautiful Lanzarote. The truth is that the island is not designed for rain and is invariably sunny and warm in the winter months. Thankyou. Nigel and Luisa. The Owners. Country House Lanzarote.
