Welcome to Foresterie- 15 Km from the highway, 500 altitude, the first house coming from Tuscany in Miralaghi estate 700 acres of natural beauty, from where you can see: Città del Pieve (13km), Cortona (35km), Chiusi (10km), and Montepulciano, Chiusi Lake, Trasimeno Lake(10km); Perugia (42km), Assisi (60km).

Come to discover some of the most interesting and beautiful areas of Italy and to admire some splendid works of art dating back to the Roman-Etruscan civilisation through to the Renaissance.

Or just enjoy Miralaghi with its wonderful excursions on foot or mountain bike, close to unspoilt nature with dense woodlands full of wildlife, fish at our fishing pond (No-kill fish), take a pic-nic in the dedicated area, do, as Rambo, the fitness trail in the forest (17 stops, the children like it a lot ) or simply walk along it. The nature in the forest is amazing; climb on the two birds watching; let your children to go themself at the children play-ground, play ping-pong, soccer game.

Tired? Relax in the pool, play bowls, play chess under the oak, admiring the wonderful sunset and the never- ending view around you, eat out and try our local gourmet specialities, not forgetting our olive oil. At night, don’t miss the spectacular view of the dark sky crowded with stars and the surrounding valleys lit up by hundreds of pin-point lights.

Le Foresterie is the first house when you arrive from Tuscany; ideal for people who want to relax and day dream in an area surrounded by trees and listen to the evening sounds of the woods and admire the stars at night.

It is about 20m from the bowling green and the children playground (wing, pendolino, duck, slide, sand-pit) ; 700m from the pool.

All flats are large, confortable and cute.

Check your email from the comfort of our sofa with Wireless Internet. Kids will stay entertained with board games and cards.

All apartments has master bedroom features a King Size pillow top bed with dual side tables & lamps and a twins bedroom (we can transforme in King size bed) with dual side tables & lamps as well, wardrobe .

The baths features a full-size stand up shower.

Any aprt. has a parking area, an independent entrance, mosquito nets at the windows, their own outside area fully equipped with wooden table and benches, chairs, sunbeds, hamoock, a barbecue,

Inside the property there are still many species of wild animals, which I try to protect in every way: foxes, roe deer, hedgehogs, porcupines, wild boars, hares, and squirrels near Foresteria and Villa Miralaghi fire-flies in June, July. A couple of buzzards and a hawks often circle above us. A family of barn owls is often seen at night. Robin, jay, hoopoe, green-peak are usual visitors. Pheasants and partridges are often set free here.

At the begin of spring there are the violets, in Italy we do a delicious blue candy with the violets, a lot of wild flowers during the spring, the sun-flowers in summer; In september in the forest you encounts cyclamens. At the end of September until the beginning of November you can find many species of mushrooms- books explaining them are at home -.If you like a different experience come the first week-end of November when we start to collect the olives.

I stay at the country from the arrive of the firsts guests to the last arrive. I like to give a virgin oil lesson- testing and info about the surroundings. I live in another house in the estate where I like to invite my guests for a drink.

Foresteria 2 First floor, 57 m2 4 people An outside staircase leads to the large terrace (47 sm) with a wooden table, benches, chairs, sun beds, umbrella, hammock; from the terrace you enter the sitting room/kitchen; a landing leads to the bathroom with shower and the double bedroom; another landing leads to the twin bedroom and the corridor which leads to Flat 1. HiFi, TV-Sat, WiFi barbecue. The window looks at the wood land and the olive's hill. Curtains are present in all bedrooms and nets are placed on all windows, so you can sleep with the windows opened during the summer. The nights are cool, the temperature xcursions from day and night is of 10 degrees. A constant, pleasant breeze keep always a good emperature. At night time the temperature goes to 19- 20 degrees centigrade. Foresteria 1 and Foresteria 2 can communicate (1+2) to host two families and Foresteria 1 has places at dinner table for 12 persons and 3 has a dinner table for 16 people.

Hello,

The property was bought by my grandfather after World War II, when returning from Africa, was looking for a property near Rome, that reminds him of the wide spaces of Africa and he felt in love for Miralaghi estate where le foresterie is. All around us there is not the savannah, of course, but hundreds of kilometers of nature, culture, architecture and art that you can see all around you.

I like a lot this place because is in the hearth of the most beautiful area of Umbria and Tuscany. You can reach a lot of places. I like people who come to visit my property because I like to share it: it is a unique place. The air is clean, full of good energy, the silence is broken by the the gentle breeze and birdsong.

I live in another house in the estate where I like to invite my guests for a drink. Miralaghi is a perfect place where to live and work because it is beautiful, near Rome and Florence in un area full of theathers, events, festivals, music, concerts, parade, cinemas. So after my work I can do something that generrally you find in the big cities as fantastic exibition in Florence or Rome, or festival in Perouse or theather in Città della Pieve or Montepulciano, to be ready to give you the best 'adress' at your arrival.But sometime I prefer to look at the stars with my sons.

Or sometime I go to do a horse-ride inside with a magnificent Arab horse inside the magnificent property where I never time to go

See the hawks play with the wind is a strong emotion, as well as see the approach of rain and the landscape disappear under it, like in a movie. And in winter are frequent warm light and sun as on a tropical island that rises on a sea ... of fog.

The temperature is perfect because there is always a gentle breeze: in summer during the day it' s never hot, at night it falls down at 18-20 degree centigrades- IDEAL to sleep. In winter is never foggy as I said but it's possible to see a cloud to move towards us. And the weather is wonderful until the end of December and from the end of March. Not far from Rome and Florence , you can be there in about one hour, by train or by car. At the center of a lot of trips. in un area really active in culturals events all around us

It's all around you: Castiglione del Lago, Cortona (Under The Tuscany Sun), Città della Pieve, Assisi (San Francis town) Perugia. Chiusi, the ancient city of King Porsenna, is a city of Etruscan origin.The tombs, which are very interesting, are visible in the surrounding areas. Not far is Montepulciano; the most beautiful Renaissance town in Italy. Further away is Pienza the first small Italian city built according to a regular plan as The ideal town in the 17th century and one of the “Treasure of the humanity” for the UNESCO.To arrive in Pienza follow the indication to Montichielli, NOT to Pienza.

On the other part of Lake Trasimeno is Cortona- under Tuscany Sun- At the museum of The Etruscan Academy there is the famous Etruscan lamp the oldest in the world.

You must visit in Perugia the “Rocca Paolina”, a curious item: A barbican built on 200 houses. Equidistant is Orvieto.

In one hour you reach Rome and florence.The visit continue in Cortona: There is also a magnificent “Announcement” of Beato Angelico and paintings of Luca Signorello. You can eat at the restaurant “Del Teatro”, if you‘re in the mood for some things more special go to “Tonino” (both expensive). A cheap restaurant is trattoria Dardano (close Wednesday) or Trattoria Toscana (better wines- closed Tuesday).

To continue the cultural tour you must visit in Perugia “La Pinacoteca”.

Equidistant (at almost 30 km) is Orvieto; the cathedral is stupendous The Well an emotion for adults and children. And recently they opened the “underground town” entrance not far from the cathedral. The small village would be pleasurable to live in for those in their twilight years. Continue to the extraordinary middle age quarter San Pellegrino in Viterbo passing through Civita di Bagnoregio.

There is still much to see: Siena, Assisi (The town of San Francis with the two churches one up the other and Gubbio to visit.

And staying more don't miss Frasassi caves the most beautiful caves I've been in all my life.

If you want to go by train from Chiusi, you can travel comfortable to either Rome or Florence in about one hour, and still return in the same day ( leaving the car in the free parking just under the railway bridge after the roundabout coming from Miralaghi)To visit the”Uffizi” in Florence call the number 055 ..to book the visit to avoid the queu.

Arriving in Rome I suggest you the beautiful and restored with a unique Roman house inside at Museo di Roma just in front Termini Station on the left side. Be aware there is another museum in front of Termini much less interesting on the right-and if you go to “Fori imperiali” remember to ask a guide to see the “Senatus” . You could imagine a scene of a roman movie inside.

Outdoor Activities : relax in your hammock or sun-bed at the swimming pool (10x5),do fitness along gym trail in the forest, or simply walk along it or through scenic paths (20km),play with your friends and sons bowls at 'bocce field', fish in our lake (No-Kill fosh), climb on the bird watching, ride mountain bike, play ping pong, soccer-table, bring the children to the play garden near the house. A wonderful olive oil of our own production.(The owner is a oil-wine sommelier and give a weekly lesson to taste the oil) . Discounts from 10 to 20% are applied to our guests at the SPA, the golf court, the horse riding. During the good season an astrophysics intervene weekly to describe our incredible sky at night. Endroit ideal pour se desintoxiquer de la vie citadine.
Paysages superbes, accueil chelereux, calme à volonté, bref un vrai lieu de vacances pour petits et grands.

Eleven of us have spent two wonderful weks in 3 of Foresteria apartments.
we have enjoyed the peace, ..?. daily 'trek'up and the the hill.

The wonderful food (thanks to Maria Luisa for introducing us to the truffles, liver paté & olive paste to accompany our Crostini), beautiful view, lazy days in hammoks reading, delicious wine and so many more things.
We hebben een hele leuke vakantie gehad in dit huisje. We ryn veel dorpjes gaan bekyken en natuurlyk gaan rwrmmen in het meer. ..Assisi is ook een heel mooi dorpje wy hadden it geluk dat er net een lente feest was Rome is natuurlyk ook leuk.

beautiful surroundings

The house is set in a forest on a hillside with fantastic views, a chorus of birdsong by day and the nightingale by night. The kids loved exploring the brooks and paths as well as the playground. We recommend this holiday rental for people who are not looking for an exclusive five-star suite but who enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods surrounding the house and who don't mind a bit of driving to get to the excellent sightseeing opportunities (although some of them are not that far of and the beautiful villages of Paciano and Panicale are within hiking distance and also well worth a visit). Recommended in particular for families with children (equipment for babies and toddlers is very good). Thanks again to the kind owner, Maria Luisa, who tried to fulfil our every wish and who was so helpful every step of the way and gave us very good tips on what to see and do. We had a wonderful time :-)

Paysage magnifique, location très °greable.
Bravo à Maria Luisa qui a parfaitement animé cette sémaine (siirée dans les étoiles.. très interessant!! et dégustation d'huile d'olive!!! )

Nous garderons un très beau souvenir de Miralaghi et des autres familles rencontrees autours de la piscine.

Wonderful place, peace and silence in the early morning. Beautiful sunsets and most pleasanrt compamy from an international gathering around the pool. Maria Luisa orchestrating all in her stride to make our holiday a great success. Thanking you for a lovely week, lost in an italian forest.

Beautiful nature, nice house, wonderful towns

We spent our summerholidays 2008 at Miralaghi. We found a beautiful and quiet place out in the open. In the surroundig there are a lot of wonderful historical old towns. Nice to look around and go shopping. and eat something.
House and pool were clean and well-kept.
Thanks a lot to Maria für advice and support.
We will come back!
