This pretty, self-catering restored farmhouse is located in the small tranquil hamlet of Carreau and is set in. 6000 m2 of garden and woodland. The property is about 125 years old, recently extended and has a charming, rural location and offers space and peace with local activities to suit most tastes and age groups.The facilities contain 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, 1 living room w/bed settee for 2, 2 equipped bathrooms with shower, wash hand basin,toilet and towel dryer,open plan ground floor with fully equipped kitchen and dining area. A lovely outside terrace fully equipped with garden furnitures, perfect for outside dining and barbecuing and an outdoor kitchen equipped with worktop, sink with hot and cold water and fridge/freezer.The terrace leads down to a 8m x 4m pool (depth 1.2m - 2.1m) with Roman escaliers and the pool patio has sun loungers, parasols and chairs. Carreau is within one hour's drive of Angouleme, Limoges and Perigueux and half hour drive of Brantome.

The property is approximately 45 minutes drive from Limoges Airport with daily flights from London Stansted, Liverpool, Southampton and East Midlands in the UK.The area is renowned for its beautiful lakes, quiet villages, local markets, excellent cuisine, woodland trails and numerous chateaux. It is, therefore, ideal for anyone who enjoys walking, fishing, bird watching, water sports, riding and cycling. The nearest village is Marval at 4kms, it has a tabac/depot de pain/grocery shop, a post office and a bar/restaurant. St Mathieu (6kms) has a supermarket, bread shops, pharmacy, paper shop, post office, bar and a restaurant at the Lake. Piegut (10kms) has a weekly Wednesday morning market, one of the best in the Dordogne and Nontron is 15kms with two larger supermarkets. Golf courses are within 45mins - 1hrs drive away. The property is an ideal base for exploring the region and the historic cities of Limoges, Angouleme and Perigeux are within one hour drive.
