About Carolyn Ward
My family originated from the East Coast of Canada in Beautiful Nova Scotia. My husband and I moved to Vancouver island in 1966 and lived in various towns before settling down in Qualicum Beach. Here we built the log house on 5 acres and raised our two children as well as helped raise our two grand daughters and grand son. We have two horses currently on the property, a dog and 2 cats! Horses are a big part of my life here on the property.
Carolyn Ward purchased this farmhouse in 1978
Why Carolyn Ward chose Qualicum Beach
We bought this property due to its prime location. We had been living in Port Alberni, but chose to sell and move to this side of the Mt to raise our children. The property was my husbands dream as this is where he would eventually build his dream log house and enjoy gardening, hobby farming and his family. We also enjoyed many many years of fishing for salmon just off of French creek as well as Bowser. My husband being an outdoors man, was really drawn to this area as it served all of his needs to do with fishing, hunting, camping, swimming, boating, canoeing, shooting ranges, motorcycling, whale watching and many more accessible fun activities. I enjoyed the fact that we could swim in all the surrounding waters, camp and horse back ride on many trails. Our location was perfect for getting to town by bike or walking so the kids could get around easily without us.
What makes this farmhouse unique
We love this home because my husband built it and it has been in the family for 30 years. Its very unique being a log house and the horses make the property very homey.
