WATER AND MOUNTAIN VIEWS

Camden Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Renovated 3- bd farmhouse with incredible water/mountain views. Relaxing!

This is a unique spot nestled in the oaks and pines of the Camden Hills where the Megunticook Lake spills into the Megunticook River. The renovated 3-bedroom/2-bath farmhouse faces south with views of the upper river basin and the Camden Hills. Loons call throughout the summer and eagles are occasionally spotted fishing from atop the pines. This is a great rental for a relaxing get-away or as a home base for day trips to Acadia, coastal drives, kayak outings on the river or lake, or day hikes in the Camden Hills State park.

Our house is about 3 miles from downtown Camden's harbor shops and restaurants. Fall & Winter rentals feature close proximity to The Camden Hills State Park for hiking and 'leaf peeping', and the Camden Snow Bowl.

The 3-bedrooms feature a flexible set-up that can comfortably accommodate six, but can stretch to eight with advance planning and available air mattresses. The largest bedroom (25' X 12') features a king bed (or two twins) with adjoining seating area, or it can be converted to large dorm-style room arranged with up to 4 twin beds. A second bedroom features a queen bed that can be arranged with an in-room antique crib or additional twin bed. The adjacent 'loft' area can sleep yet another full-size bed or twin. The loft overlooking the living area is accessible through the second bedroom. There are also two long couches and inflatable mattresses for your use, and a well-drained lawn if the kids want to sleep in their tent.

The home has two full bathrooms: a main floor with single sink and stall shower; and a second floor master bath with dual sinks, a whirlpool tub and separate walk in tiled shower.

The living areas feature a flexible living zoned design with lots of windows with views of the outdoors. Living areas include a cook's kitchen, dining room, library/game area, TV room and living/sitting room with a wood stove.

We provide wireless internet and basic cable with DVD, and a stereo system. Outside is a small deck by the back door, and a second larger shady deck off the french doors from the living room, and sited next to a trickling koi pond ringed by wildflowers; a vegetable garden with seasonal herbs and greens for your use and a loose stone patio that overlooks the river, and is equipped with a gas bbq.

This property is just a short walk to Hodson Park, a favorite fishing spot where Megunticook Lake spills into the Megunticook River. It is a short drive to Barrett's Cove swimming beach (Megunticook Lake) off Beaucaire Road, and in the other direction to the Megunticook boat launch.

The property is provided with fresh linens and towels, and the kitchen is stocked with basic provisions like salt, sugar and oil. Please feel free to request a stocked frig option with a selection from fresh local markets. Laundry is onsite, or an in-town drop-off service is available.

We look forward to your stay, and please call or email if we can help you navigate the booking process. Thank you.

Bedrooms each have a multi-speed ceiling fan, including a high speed fan over the lofted living room, although midcoast Maine generally does not need it with famously temperate days and cool nights.

We look forward to answering any of your questions, and to having you vacation in our home on the beautiful Midcoast of Maine.

Camden overlooking Megunticook River

  • 4 of 5
This home grew on us every day we were there:3 weeks! We easily accommodated 3 additional guests for most of that time and enjoyed being outside of Camden yet only 8-10 minutes away. The local Megunticook Market was a great find as were the back ways to reach other towns without combating Camden traffic.

The home is nicely furnished with a good kitchen, washer dryer and ceiling fans which were helpful on a couple of muggy days. A great library came in handy on the several rainy days and every morning's walk with the dogs took us down to the river where they and we could swim. All in all a happy experience

RELAXING

  • 5 of 5
I needed a relaxing week away from my regular routine. The calls of the loons, the leaves rustling in the breeze was just the antidote. The house was very clean, well maintained, very comfortable and well designed. It felt like a well cared for home…thanks for sharing it. It was conveniently close to a lot of great restaurants and sights in Camden, Rockport, Rockland and Belfast. Very relaxing. I enjoyed my stay thoroughly. Thank you.

Charming house in great area!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at Molyneaux in August, and it was perfect for our family vacation. The house is well-appointed, with a nice kitchen and very nice baths. The bedrooms are great and have ceiling fans, which were only really necessary one night during our stay in August. Camden is a great town with alot of charm, a great harbor and good restaurants. The house is away from the traffic of Route One, but convenient to get in town, and easy to reach anywhere in the midcoast. We will definitely book again the next time we come to Maine!
