Fiona is a retired diplomat with the Italian government, speaks Italian, Spanish, French and English. I'm a retired Aircraft Maintenance Tech from Davenport, Iowa USA. I speak English....:-) and a bit of Spanish and Italian.
We visited the North Coast of the island in 2009 and simply fell in Love with the place and eventually bought a property and built our retirement home here.
We arrived for good in 2011. We bought the condo in Cabarete as our home as we built our house.
Fiona paints and I do some IM to pass the time. We also share a love of cooking and gardening and do both activities together.
We Love Cabarete and the whole of the North Coast and we are sure you will as well. The beach is never crowded and you can walk for hours in either direction. The choice of restaurants within walking distance of 727 is incredible. Italian, French, Dominican, Mexican, Thai...you name it, as well as the good old Hamburger. Janet's Market on the east end of town has a large selection of whatever you may need to cook up in the condo. Or, grab a cab and go into Sosua and the Playero Supermarket for a bit bigger selection and more restaurants and the quaint Sosua Bay Beach.
Jim and Fiona Lehenbauer purchased this condo in 2009
If you've been here before you will find this condo a cut above most in Cabarete and in Ocean Dream. If you haven't experienced Cabarete or Ocean Dream you will be pleasantly surprised by this unit, it's accessability to Kite Beach and all the things you need to enjoy your stay.
Take a Moto Concho for the brave, or a local bus for pennies into Sosua. Or rent a car and check out the area.
You can catch a taxi from the airport for about $35 USD. If only two I'll pick you up for $25.
