Excellent getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 8 days at this home in the beginning of April. It is a a great place to stay for a reasonable price. Everything you need is provided for you, including beach toys, snorkel gear, beach towels, washer & dryer, a barbeque, a beautiful fenced yard that is well cared for, and fenced parking area, (You don't have to park on the street). The kitchen was well stocked. The beach is across the street and is NOT busy. This house was in a great location for us as it was central to most of what we wanted to do on the island. The Polynesian Cultural Center being our favorite. Haliewa is close for you grocery & souvenir shopping. Ryan was friendly and helpful and the house was very clean. We are happy to recommend this house!

Plumeria Hale, North Shore, Waialua

  • 5 of 5

As I drove away, my heart was heavy. This home away was amazing, and for the prize, it was a true gift. The Plumeria Hale and it's owner are better than perfect for a stay on the beautiful North Shore, with gorgeous decorations and a solid, well-laid out house. The amenities that the owner provides keep on coming! Bikes, snorkel and fin sets, books, DVD's, in-room stereo surround sound (really???), gorgeous bathrooms, little supplies that you'd not expect, towels, bags, etc. And an adorable little green lizard. I wish he'd appear more often. The hammock in the yard, the basketball hoop (oh my goodness my boys took one look and were in heaven...then came out promptly with a basketball! Really?????) There is an additional home attached where some friends of the owner were staying, and that was a tiny bit awkward at times and not what I expected, but it was no big deal. They didn't intrude at all. The home is perfect. I can't say enough about it, and it truly is steps from the beach, albeit across the street with the beach front homes blocking the view. You can still hear the ocean.

A nice retreat on the north shore

  • 5 of 5

The home was clean and comfortable. Nice bedding, towels, etc. We enjoyed spending a couple weeks at the hale. Ryan was very nice, she met with us and was always very quick to respond to emails & questions. The north shore is awesome. If you are planning to do tourist things a car is a necessity. The parking at the hale is a nice touch. The yard is well looked after. Try the hammock, it is not there just for looks. A great fit for parent with 2 teenagers. We walked the beach and loved the nearby town. great food. I would come back.

Perfect North Shore house - Relaxing, Across the street from the beach, Great owner!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a great, relaxing week here! The hale is across the street and a couple houses down from a public beach access. The beach is not crowded at all - even on the weekend.

The house was perfect for us - my parents, my husband and I, and our 1 year old. The house comes with a pack-n-play and a high chair - so handy! As is common in Hawai'i the house does not have air conditioning, but once the windows are open and the wind is blowing that's no big deal (just a heads up for others).

This is the perfect house if you're looking to get away from the crowds and noise of Waikiki.

Thank

The beach chairs and snorkeling gear are also such a plus! The yard is beautiful and we

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Ryan! Our stay at your house was great! The accomodations were excellent and clean. The beds were comfortable with nice fans in every room. We loved having coffee and breakfast outside on the lanai and made friends with the myna bird who would visit often. We enjoyed the neighbourhood and just a short walk across the street and down a pathway is the beach that goes on forever. We loved to walk the beach and saw lots of turtles. There are lots of snorkelling opportunities around the point. We will definitely come back. If you like a relaxed quiet neiborhood this is a great home. We like to cook so a better cutting board and more tea towels and dish cloths would be a nice addition. Excellent stay!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - HEAVEN- CLEAN/RELAXING/WANTED TO STAY LONGER

  • 5 of 5

I stayed with my boyfriend for 4 nights at Plumeria Hale. We had been staying at other rentals on the North Shore with Airbnb. I was cautious renting out of Airbnb but after reading the wonderful reviews, it was hard not to give this place a try and Im glad I did.

Pulling up to the address, I wasn't sure which cottage it was, as there are 2. but proceeded into the driveway and soon realized it was the bigger one farther from the street. It had a huge lawn, hammock, all fenced in and safe. There was a bucket and a hose to remove any sand from your feet (good idea) When entering, I couldn't help but smile. How spacious. There was only 2 of us in a 3 bdrm and a REAL kitchen. I felt like I was in a real home. And how clean!!! Beds comfortable! nice everything! My favorite detail of the kitchen was the glass tubber wear to-go set for leftovers..glass:) not plastic and perfect for any leftover meals to bring to the beach (nice touch) The stove/over worked perfectly. My only suggestion: Please add a cutting board:) Also the BBQ didn't ignite and I had to use a lighter which scared me, but finally got it to work. Also the house is equipped with Bose speakers in the ceiling and a fancy audio - i-pod friendly system, only problem was there wasn't the cord we needed to hook up our i-pod. It was a big tease and when I texted Ryan, she said she would leave a cord the next day and didn't....I understand she was dealing with personal issues. Other then that, the place was perfect. We are so happy we stayed! Being able to do laundry was such a luxury. (located outside) the bikes are rusty and outdated and I couldn't find any locks to lock them, but they seemed to work fine, we biked to the farmers market (5 minutes away at the Waialua old sugar mill (apparently closed Wednesdays but open Saturday) Theres a cool coffee store there- expensive but you get a free tour. Some shopping in the parking lot. Its about an 8 minute drive to Hailewa. Best grocery store/restaurant: Celestial Natural Foods and Beet Box (omg) and then a great butcher is cross the street from that: Vj's butcher block. The street the house is on, seems a little run down, but safe. The beach is across the street and we found an entrance through a neighbors backyard about 3 houses to your left.

Our overall stay was fantastic. I never met Ryan, but she was fast\ easy to deal with. And accommodated a late check if we washed our own sheets. I would highly recommend this place.
