A large, private, three bedroom, two bath, house with magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean. Each bedroom is luxuriously appointed. The living room and dining area have a truly incredible six window view of the Pacific with white water waves crashing over exposed rocks. The house has a fireplace and two wood stoves, a well equipped kitchen and a large deck for enjoying the sunset. In addition to the three bedrooms is a cozy loft and quiet areas to read and relax.
You'll be a five minute walk to lovely Agate Beach, part of the Duxbury Reef Preserve. There you will find access to the Pacific Ocean, a quiet beach area and tide pools perfect for nature explorers of all ages. Nearby is also Bolinas Beach, a great place to play in the sand or take a surfing lesson from the Bolinas Surf School. A short drive by car is Stinson Beach and Point Reyes.
Close at hand are some incredible walks along the coast, including some trails into the southern end of Point Reyes National Seashore. During your stay you can also explore historic Bolinas. Founded in the 1850's, Bolinas has long served as a weekend getaway for San Franciscans, though in earlier times they would arrive by boat. Bolinas remains a great retreat and maintains a local culture shaped by the 1960's counter-culture movement.

"Heather, we had a wonderful time. The house was comfortable & well
stocked. We bought crabs off the boats, oysters at Tomales Bay & went
clamming. Our meal on Saturday night included fresh cracked crab, steamed
clams, prime rib, & barbecued oysters. The children were thrilled & thanks for
providing the high chair. Could hardly keep Anaya, grandchild, out of it. We
were delighted with the food, amazing views & sleeping arrangements. I have
recommended the house to friends & hope to find time to stay there again in
the future. Thanks for the experience & the quality time my family had
together. We also had a ping pong competition. Unfortunately I lost."

My friends and I spend a beautiful weekend at your house. Very comfortable in the evenings in the big living room with the ocean views. The morning sunshine on the deck felt great. Thanks for a great getaway.
Our family of five spent Thanksgiving weekend at Bolinas House. We had never been to Bolinas or that part of California before so we took a chance. It could not have been more perfect. Bolinas is a funky little hamlet that is stuck in the 1970s. Enchanting. The house was warm, snug with a magnificent view of the ocean. It is close to a beachfront access and to multiple overlooks out to the great Pacific. We watched the sun set every night from the deck or a close-by overlook. We walked to the beach multiple times and went tidepooling at low tide - anemones, nudibranchs, starfish, snails all within five minutes of the house.
The kitchen was well stocked - no problem cooking Thanksgiving dinner and many more good breakfasts and dinners. The beds were very comfortable - even the sleeping loft. The wi-fi worked very well. We did not have cell coverage for either ATT or Verizon - I considered that a real bonus. My brother did use Skype for an important business call and it worked well.
This is a special house in a special part of the world.
The house worked perfectly for our vacation with three adults and our two college students. First, the house ... exceeded my expectations being well kept and very comfortable. The handling of the rental went very smoothly. There was more than enough room for us all to gather together or for us all to find our own quiet spots. The master suite was very private, large, with its own sitting area and had it's own spectacular view. The wifi worked flawlessly. On the view ... the view and sound of the ocean waves were truly special. I was surprised how undisturbed the view was from neighboring properties helped in part by being on the hillside and landscaping in the area. It was a short walk (couple minutes) to some cliffs or down to the beach with tide pools. We would definitely select this property again and do not hesitate to recommend it as one of the most awesome places we've stayed.
Typical for each of our five days was a relaxing morning, a short excursion (bird observatory, oyster farm, drive to scenic site, cheese, etc etc) and a hike at Pt. Reyes. Often, on the way back, we'd stop at the 24-hr honor-system (only in Bolinas!) farm stand for fresh eggs and produce. The kitchen in the house was perfect for creating a fresh gourmet meal. A different bottle of Sean Thackrey wine (made in Bolinas) capped off each day. We are unable to report on televisions in the home as I don't think we ever turned them on. In short, we had a great time enjoying all the natural splendor of the area and then went back to a great rental house that really added and enhanced our vacation experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at the house. House is exactly the way it looks in the pictures and even better. Everything from cooking utensils to entertainment were available. Kids had great fun playing around the house. We did happen to buy some local fish from super market at the downtown, which was great. Because of limited availability of fish make sure the visit the store earlier in the day. All in all we had fun weekend and hope to return soon.
This wonderful home was the base for a great week in the Bolinas/Point Reyes area. The house is spacious, clean, well equipped, and laid out so that one group can be watching TV in the living area, another can be in the small sitting room by the kitchen for conversation, and still another in the bedroom suite downstairs. There are wood stoves in the living area and the first floor bedroom with wood supplied. The wrap around porch has spectacular views, decent furniture, and a cute dog who visits from next door. Bolinas has a great restaurant and friendly folks at the small market (great fish, by the way). Point Reyes offers many hiking opportunities as well as an awesome natural beach area - we saw tule elk, porcupine, a coyote, deer, a skunk, and an enormous whale. We also ventured in to wine country in Sonoma and enjoyed several tours there - easy to find. Highway 1 from San Francisco is daunting so do it in the daylight - curvy to the max - but beautiful. About 90 minutes to the SF airport. Thanks to Heather for the help before and during our stay. We would love to come back!!! Oh - and recommend cleaning the windows as soon as you get there so you can really enjoy the amazing views!
