The Apt. is a short walk to the Mission, Rose gardens, Botanical Gardens, Natural History Museum and Riviera Theatre. Also, don’t miss Alice’s garden (read the book in the Apt.), Lotus Land (must make reservations ahead), the many hikes (book in Apt.), Seal Sanctuary (checking birthing months), walking along the Shoreline Park (watching the surfers, sea lions, & whales), Brophey Bros. (a locals hangout) & the Fish Market at the Marina (freshest fish in town), Downtown Farmer’s Market (Tues. eve. & Sat. morning) the Courthouse and Arlington Theatre.
A day-out’s bounty- local spotted prawn, farmers market finds, and local pinot. Take it back to the gourmet kitchen, pop the cork and cook up something good while looking out through the French doors to see if you can retrace your steps from the day.
You’ll want to rise early to see the magnificent sunrise and be home in the evening to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine. Break bread at the yacht-style booth that has the best seat in the house- or any house for that matter- and let the nautical scene unfold before you. Cheers!
One of four restored and upgraded units in a Craftsman style building circa 1915, this apartment has a sophisticated yet comfortable feel. Located on the second floor, the sun-drenched unit looks south out across the city and ocean and west toward the Mission. From the kitchen French doors lead to panoramic ocean and city views. A built-in booth seats six for dinner and provides a spot for entertaining or sitting down with a cup of tea and a book. Features include all new cabinetry, honed granite counter-tops, stainless steel appliances, and butcher block topped island. Custom tile work surrounds the new shower/bath tub in the good sized bathroom. Dual pocket doors and an interior window give the bedroom an open feel. Custom millwork adds to the historical feel of the space.
The unit has its own private laundry/storage room and weekly maid service is available upon request. The convenient location is around the corner from the historic Riviera Theater, 0.5 miles to the Santa Barbara Mission, across the street from Orput park and near public transportation and within walking distance to downtown. It was easy to call this apt. our home for 4 ½ months and we would have stayed longer if it wasn’t already booked. Pride of ownership and attention to detail will make you want to return often. Everything represented in the listing is accurate with the exception of understating the view! You’ll want to rise early to see the magnificent sunrise and be home in the evening to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine, as you prepare dinner in this well-appointed kitchen. The sun really does rise in the East and set in the West, it’s just not the direction you think it should be. Our first weekend in town, we took a long walk from the apt. to the end of Stearns Pier and back, a great way to get acquainted with the city and all that it has to offer. The apt. is a short walk to the Mission, Rose gardens, Botanical Gardens, Natural History Museum and Riviera Theatre. We have and will continue to recommend this VRBO to family and friends. Perfect for 2 people (adults) with an occasional overnight guest.

This unit is perfection plus. The owners anticipated every possible need for comfort and enjoyment. Overlooking the city, the mountains, and the Pacific Ocean, the view from the deck is among the very best in Santa Barbara. We just wanted to move in and stay forever. It is located in a lovely and quite neighborhood yet an easy drive to everywhere. The owners are very particular about the condition of the unit: it was super clean, pristine actually. Each room was cozy and pleasant. The kitchen was a cook's dream space, compact but modern and convenient with efficient use of space and every possible utensil, etc. The neighbors are quiet and respectful. It is just the perfect home away from home. Five stars in every category.
The apartment was perfect, nicer than expected! The kitchen is a true cooks gem and the dining area is spacious and great if one wants to entertain. The deck is a great place to start or wind down the day and the views of downtown SB, the ocean and mountains are striking. Located in the foothills, it is an easy drive to any point without having to take the winding narrow upper roads. The neighborhood was quiet and the parking spot a nice convenience.
The owners are friendly and unobtrusive and working with them goes smoothly from start to finish.
Monika responds immediately when a need arises. A request to locate a missing item was thoroughly looked into, found and returned. Would definitely come back!
This beautiful home exceeded our expectations in every way! We came to Santa Barbara to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary & the owners very thoughtfully welcomed us with a bottle of wine, fresh flowers and an anniversary card, which we truly appreciated! The home is even prettier than in the photos, it is spotless, well-appointed and the views are breathtaking. The owners also were very helpful in pointing out some local attractions. We highly recommend this home for an enjoyable and memorable stay!
The property was a perfect getaway--peaceful, clean, beautifully appointed and well maintained. The views from the balcony are stunning in all directions, and the interior is charming. The listing is accurate, the owner is very helpful and kind, and this apartment has everything needed for an excellent stay in Santa Barbara. Highly recommended!
The apartment was everything promised. It's very comfortable, beautiful, and well appointed. The lower Riviera neighborhood is a quite, friendly location, and because it's situated on the hill side, there is a commanding view of Santa Barbara and the ocean beyond. The off-street parking is a bonus. The owners are hospitable and experienced, making for an effortless transaction. I highly recommend it.
It exceeded our expectations in every way. We cannot recommend the place highly enough. The area is wonderful and the views are more amazing than the pictures convey.
The apartment is very comfortable and the bed is extremely comfortable.Thank you
