Thanks for stopping by! We have lived in and visited many parts of the U.S and the world. Personally, although I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and currently reside and work in Singapore, the San Francisco Bay Area will always be home for me. The energy of the Bay Area runs through my veins and I know that it is the place that we will eventually move back to.
No matter where you end up staying while you visit the Bay Area, I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do and take advantage of all that it has to offer, including some of my favorite places like Noe Valley, Cole Valley and the Mission District in the city, Sonoma wine country, Stinson Beach and the hikes of Muir Woods and Mt. Tam, and of course, the lovely seaside village of Sausalito!
I would love to learn more about you and your favorite places to visit. I hope that the Bay Area becomes one of them.
Michelle Waite purchased this house in 2013
When we purchased this property in 2013, we knew that it was a place that we could someday live or retire to. We have always wanted to live in a location that had views of water. This property has some of the best. We lived in the city of San Francisco for many years before moving to Singapore for work. There will always be a place in my heart for the city...but Sausalito offers the proximity to San Francisco (a quick drive over the bridge puts you in the heart of the city in 15 minutes and a ferry ride takes you there in 20) with a micro climate that is more suitable to our likes...our home is in the banana belt of Sausalito which means that when the fog is thick in the city, we have sunny skies much of the time. This, in conjunction with the home town feel of the people in Sausalito made it an easy choice.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Michelle's home in Sausalito. This home is full of character and elegance. The rooms and bathrooms are all well-appointed and the owners have gone the extra-length to put just the right touches to make guest feel at home. The views of the Bay from the bedrooms were amazing throughout the day and the courtyard was a great place for the morning coffee and evening cocktail. In addition to the locations in Sausalito mentioned by other reviewers, Drivers Organic Market was a joy to visit. Trips to Napa/Sonoma, Muir Forest, SF were all convenient once we figured out the rush hour pattern. Early AM trip to the GG Bridge is highly recommended. Thanks, Michelle, for sharing your home with us and we hope to be there again soon.
This home was perfect for our visit to San Francisco with another couple. The house was immaculate. The description in the listing and photos very accurately reflected the home's appearance and amenities. We spent time at home enjoying the peaceful back patio in the afternoons. At night we would sit in the living room with candles lit and enjoy the beautiful view of the bay out the front windows.
We walked down into Sausalito several times a day. We loved getting breakfast and amazing coffee at Cibo. The sushi at Sushi-Ran was exceptional. We rented bikes at the bike shop right next to Cibo. The man in the bike shop was super helpful in mapping out a 20 mile route over the Golden Gate Bridge and through the city.
We even left right from home and went on a run across the bridge and back- about 8 miles. The guys chose to run up hill to check out the views from the top of the hill. We did not manage to go paddle boarding, but we plan to save that for our return visit.
The owners sent videos that were actually very helpful with the door lock and stove. She emailed after our arrival to make sure we got in ok and everything was in order.
We had a wonderful experience staying at this lovely home in Sausalito. The place far exceeded our expectations. The location could not have been better, with spectacular views and easy access to town. I would most definitely recommend to stay here, and look forward to renting again next time!
We loved our long weekend at Michelle's home in Sausalito! We would highly recommend this home to anyone considering a stay in the Bay Area. Four of us stayed there comfortably, and absolutely loved the house, location, and yard areas. The bedrooms are gorgeous with stunning views of the bay, with smart, quality linens and furnishings. The yard is incredible - great deck furniture and a beautiful warm sunny setting. We had 6 guests over for an afternoon BBQ with plenty of room to spare. There are two living rooms - one has a fireplace and incredible views of the bay. The other living room opens to the dining room and kitchen, and is also well furnished. The kitchen and bathrooms are great too ! The smart furnishings and abundance of clean linens all made this feel like the perfect combination of a fancy hotel room yet in the form of a beautiful, cozy home.
The location was fabulous - we were 1 mile up the hill from town, and spent all of our long weekend exploring Sausalito and Mill Valley. The great coffee shop Philz, Bar Bocce (great for pizza drinks and bocce), and Le Garage (amazing brunch) are all within 2-3 miles. Michelle was a great host and checked-in before we got there, and helped with the couple questions we had right away. We loved our stay here and hope to go back !
I had the good fortune to stay in Michelle and Jeff's home in Sausalito for two weeks. The property is situated on the hills, offering a breathtaking view of Richardson Bay, with the Sausalito marina in the foreground Belvedere and Tiburon on the horizon. The view can be enjoyed in the living room and both bedrooms.
The house itself looks even better than the photos. It is spacious, comfortable and tastefully-appointed. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and utensils, and the two-car covered carport offers plenty of space for parking, something not to be taken for granted in the Bay Area.
On our arrival, the place was perfectly clean, with ample supply of towels and consumables such as soap available, a small detail often neglected by some owners. The house is in excellent condition, everything works, including all the windows and blinds. Michelle and Jeff are great to work with, always responding promptly and made sure that I had everything I need and felt comfortable. Key pick up and return was easy, and Michelle had put together detailed instructions that covers everything.
During the stay, one of the doors was stuck shut. Michelle was kind enough to contact a locksmith and arranged for repair the next day, which went without a hitch.
My favorite part of the house would be the yard. It is airy, the surrounding trees provide just the right amount of shade, a perfect place to relax in on a lazy afternoon.
Michelle and Jeff are great hosts, and I have no hesitation recommending their house to anyone looking for a vacation home in Sausalito.
