i grew up in Michigan, and spent as much of my summers and weekends in the Clear Lake area, where much of my family lives. I now have four kids, who are part of the 5 generations of our family that enjoys Clear Lake.
Chris Crowley purchased this lodge in 2007
We bought the Guidepost in 2007, with the goal of rebuilding and restoring the property into a place that could handle our large family. It was important to also preserve the hisotry of the Gudepost in the community.
The buildings were rebuilt from the foundation, completely replacing the plumbing, well, electric, floors, windows, walls, etc. The inside and outside have a rustic up north decor.
We also chose the Guidepost for its location, close to all community amenities and just down the street from the first cabin my great grandfather owned.
