Overview

Palm Springs House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Atomic Era Ranch With Stunning Wrap-Around Mountain Views

Picture it- 1951, the post-war Atomic age of design is in full swing and Palm Springs is Hollywood's playground. The world this home was built for can be experienced first hand by you in this carefully updated and restored 1951 mid-century retreat.

This retro classic was just refreshed with all new interior and exterior paint, completely new landscaping in the front and extra large, private rear yard, a fully restored original curved pool and a brand new in-ground Jacuzzi spa. A spacious covered outdoor living and dining area, as well as two sun lounge areas and a new Weber grill station seal the deal for fun in the sun! There is a new automatic garage door, newly built privacy walls around the entire property and secure, gated entry to the back exterior.

The interior boasts a renovated kitchen and bathrooms. New furniture, accessories and art have been installed in all rooms. New living essentials for the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and outdoor living spaces enhance your vacation home experience.

In the central living space you will find a brand new gas fireplace, and a wall of new thermal pane glass doors that extend your view to the outdoor living/dining areas and the amazing San Jacinto mountains. Your living space is doubled, allowing you to take full advantage of the indoor/outdoor lifestyle for which Palm Springs is known. There is a 50 inch flat screen TV above the fireplace in the living room with expanded cable, a portable I Pod docking station for music, as well as a Bluetooth speaker system that can be used outdoors. WIFI extends throughout the interior and exterior of the property.

The dining area features an original floor to ceiling wrap-around casement window that looks out onto the resort-like pool and lounge area, and a round Saarinen style tulip table that seats 6. The spacious kitchen has a large showcase window looking out onto the newly landscaped back yard and pool, as well as a new thermal pane glass door with access to the yard and garage side door. It has a just installed stainless refrigerator, stainless stove/oven, dishwasher and microwave. Newly installed LG washer and dryer station in the kitchen makes it easy to multi-task!

There are three bedrooms to the right and left of the central living area, all uniquely decorated and with new queen size beds and thick, cushioned mattresses. The first Master has an ensuite bath with shower. On the other side of the main living space, 2 comfortable bedrooms share a large bath, with a 2 sink marble counter, full bath/shower and extra storage cabinets below the sinks. The 3rd bedroom has a hall door that allows it to be made into a 2nd ensuite master bedroom for smaller groups. This room features 2 sets of new French glass thermal pane doors that open out to the covered outdoor living space and the sun lounging area, and has exquisite mountain views. Each bedroom is equipped with a 24 inch flat screen TV with basic cable. Central air cools the entire house, with additional wall a/c units in the 2 'master' bedrooms for extra cooling if required.

The property is quiet, private and very close to restaurants and shopping on Palm Canyon Drive, tennis courts, golf clubs, hiking and any of the many leisure activities Palm Springs has to offer.

So throw on a swimsuit, make a martini, and raise your glass to the spirited glamour surrounding you in your Palm Springs oasis.

About Rob Reinhart

I have been coming to Palm Springs for years and have been in love with both the area's natural beauty, and the city's cosmopolitan flair. This town really offers the best of all worlds for a vacation; a pleasant, sunny climate; excellent outdoor and indoor opportunities for fitness, and a growing range of sophisticated dining, drinking and shopping options. I have been wanting to own a dream home and recently found it in Seventh Heaven.

Rob Reinhart purchased this house in 2013

Why Rob Reinhart chose Palm Springs

I was able to check off everything on my wish list with this property: Unique, Atomic age architectural details,

A central living arrangement with bedrooms off to the side, lots of light and glass doors that opened onto a covered patio for indoor/outdoor living, large and private back yard, close, walkable or ride able proximity to shopping, restaurants, tennis, golf, etc. You name it, this property has it.

What makes this house unique

In addition to the features above, the mountain views really do stretch from west to south west, you can see the whole range going down towards Cathedral City. These majestic mountains change constantly with the movement of the sun and can be mesmerizing to watch, especially during the sunrise. Another feature I love is the amazing front covered entrance, all pointy angles and a mix of wood with a long, thin yellow brick planter base - very Fifties!

A most wonderful stay in 7th heaven!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 2 weeks in this very tastefully decorated, well appointed home with great views of the mountains.

The pool has a perfect size (also for swimming), the garden is a dream with different sitting places. The house is centrally located and very close to everything. The most perfect house we have rented so far in Palm Springs!

Stairway to Heaven

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, her mother, my two college age children, and one close friend spent a terrific Thanksgiving holiday here. 7th Heaven is as advertised: comfortable, clean, well appointed, with all the amenities of home, and more. Kitchen is easy to use and we had nearly everything we needed for the turkey and meal. Three spacious bedrooms, comfy beds, and inviting living room gave us plenty of room to live. But the real treat for us was the way it easily flowed into the outdoor living space. The gorgeous covered patio boasts tie back curtains that can keep out the hot sun, unruly wind, or evening chill, or it can let all that in if you prefer. We literally lived outside next to the pool and spa. 85 and sunny during the day, 55 and crisp at night. We walked to a couple of trailheads from the house for early morning hikes and took easy bike rides to the downtown area five minutes away. With a grocery just down the street, there was little reason to leave the neighborhood. We will come back as soon as we can.

A Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

A few friends and I rented this home for a weekend wedding. I used to own a house in Palm Springs, still visit frequently, know the neighborhoods very well, and will rent a house quite often. This is the "only" vacation home that I will rent over and over if it's available. The photos are so true to what it looks like, and as described. The kitchen is well equipped, labeled, and an abundance of utensils & counter space. It's very clean, updated, and well appointed. The kitchen has great windows which face the pool and backyard. The living room has french doors to the outside sitting space, which is awesome! The pool and back yard face southwest, for amazing sun and views of the mountains. One of the better neighborhood locations, and Rob the manager was fantastic. It's unfortunate I can't give this beautiful home more than 5 stars.

This house has it all!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this house over President's weekend and loved every minute. The house is beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable. The covered patio area is great for lounging, dining and reading. The pool is beautiful and the spa was where you'd find us every morning and evening relaxing and enjoying the mountain views. The house is close to downtown and the Smoke Tree shopping center which had everything we needed. We will be back!

My first Palm Springs rental

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time to rent a home in Palm Springs, though I have visited here many times and stayed in hotels or with friends. This is a lovely house that has a great floor plan and the site-ing of the house, with the pool and major windows facing South, is perfect. Also there are major mountain views from every room. I love how the house is full of light with very little direct sunlight coming in which can be a problem in the desert. The bedrooms all have huge closets with mirrored sliders. The owner really went all out to think of very thing one might need. For example, I love that most of the lighting can be dimmed. The rear garden and pool are totally private - nice for those who prefer clothing optional. I rented the house for 4 months, loved it and I look forward to coming back again.

The house looks exactly like the pictures and was perfectly maintained and clean. The location is very convenient on the south side of "downtown" Palm Springs. There are two bikes which can get you to the center of town in 5-10 minutes at most. Though I didn't need to contact the manager much, he was prompt, charming and very helpful.

Also, for those who are serious swimmers, the City of Palm Springs has a recreation facility about 4 blocks away that contains an olympic size pool and has other facilities such as a skateboard park, ball fields, youth programs, etc.

I think you will enjoy this house a lot.
