2 Bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin), 2 bathrooms (1 tub + 1 shower), sleeps 4-6

Electric fans in all rooms, and additionally, aircon in the lounge.

This property has large (42sq m=420sq feet) roof terrace (solarium) and benefits from South facing terrace in front and a balcony backing onto open fields. There are two large communal pools within the secure gated complex. A short walk to the world famous beach of Mar Menor (Minor Sea) so called because it is an inland sea-lake separated from the Mediterranean Sea by the La Manga Strip.

The property is ideally located for Mar Menor Beach, swimming pools, the Supermarkets, Restaurants, Banks and Clubs.

We have changed all the bed mattresses with 10' (25 cm) thick high quality mattresses in December 2012.

It is also on the national highway and the bus route.

A car will not be necessary but there are a number of car hire companies at the airport and in the area should you want one.

The Kitchen is fully fitted and equipped. It has electric hob and oven, washing machine, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery etc.

Golfing:: Los Alcázares is ideally placed for golf breaks. Please contact us for more details of golf courses in the area.

Supermarkets: There are 5 big supermarkets within 1 mile radius. Mercadona is the nearest, approx. 5 minutes walk from the property. Consum and Lidl are the next about 6 minutes walk. These three markets don't open on Sundays. El Arbor is about 10 minutes walk and Maxi Dia% is about 12-15 minutes walk. Both of them also open on Sundays upto 14:00 & 14:30 respectively.

About Paul Gupta

I am a retired Subpostmaster. I was born in India where I qulified as a Civil Engineer. I worked in Iraq from 1958 to 1964 as a Civil Engineer and in UK as well from 1964 to 1981. We have lived in UK ever since.

We have 3 well qualified and happily married children. They all live within 25 miles radius of London.

I bought this apartment jointly with our daughter Dr P Gupta who was born in UK and qualified as a doctor from University College London. My wife and I live in Essex while our daughter lives in Surrey. She is married and have 2 children.

Why Paul Gupta chose Los Alcazares

We bought our 1st Spanish apartment in Villamartin, Alicante in 2003 after my retirement from my business. But, it was a wrong choice of the area as the sea was not within the walking distance nor there was any bus service. Luckily we sold that property within 2 months of purchase and returned to UK.

We then returned to Spain again and bought this property. We fell in love with the area of Mar Menor or Minor Sea. The several kilometre long prominade is ideal for walks and the beach is excellent and children friendly.

We use this apartment several times a year. The 5 supermarkets, several restaurants and banks etc fulfill all our needs.

Our penthouse apartment has a patio that has sun all day along, a balcony to cool and a large roof terrace/solarium with sunbeds. We have a shower and a pull over shade on the roof terrace should it get too hot.

What makes this apartment unique

The 3 terraces (sunny patio, the cooling balcony and the roof solarium) plus the beautiful layout of the rooms and 2 WCs was enough to tempt us in buying this apartment.

But, ofcourse, there are also 2 shared community swimming pools within the secure gated complex. And, nearby there are golf courses for the enthusiast golfers.

The historic city of Cartagena is only 15 minutes drive away. But, when we are in mood to just relax we do not need to hire a car at all. Everything in within walking distance.

Torre Pacheko to the North is inland about 12km from Los Alcazares. Roda, with its newest Golf Course, is only 2km inland.

Other Activities: Night Club within easy distance and variety of restaurants on the doorstep

Notes

  • Rental rates include for electricity, water and cleaning & laundry washing after you have vacated the apartment. You are expected to do regular cleaning and washing while staying at the apartment.

    Optional: We could arrange for weekly cleaning and washing of linen etc @ 60 Euro each time, if rquested. Kindly let us know at the time of booking.

    A £100 damage deposit is required at the time of booking. The amount of payable rent will be required 6 weeks prior to the start of the rental period. Late bookings will require full payment cleared before arrival.

    A £50 surcharge will apply for rental period starting Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

    Winter rate is for a minimum rental period of 3 nights and for rental period of less than 1 week a cleaning charge of 55 euros will apply.

    There are no restrictions for checking in or checking out times but it is advisable to arrange it at the time of booking or before arrival to avoid overlapping.
  • After inspection of the apartment, £100 damage deposit will be returned in a week after vacating the apartment.
  • Quoted rental rates are for a week or part of week and for up to 4 occupants only. There will be £50 supplement per additional person per week.

    Beach towels are not provided.

    Kindly indicate ages of all children in the party.

WONDERFUL APARTMENT AND TOWN

Hi Paul,
Had a brilliant time in Los A lcazares. This is our second year at your apartment and couldn't fault it.
It is well looked after and all the little extras like the pictures on the wall, the flowers, music system, lcd tv, dvd etc. Even the lighted mirror units in the bathrooms made a difference to the girls. In the kitchen you have every utensil you could ask for. The roof terrace is great and i notice you have new sun beds. The complex is well looked after and have two good pools.
It is in a good location, five minutes to the supermarket, banks, shops, restaurants and bars, and an extra five minutes to the beach which is excellant. It has a lovely promenade with beach bars along it. It also has good water sports.
You made it easy for us by keeping in touch and arranging everything for us, like airport pick up, showing us round the apartment, also asking if there was anything needed or information.
Could you hold our deposit just know as we will probably return next year again as long as you still have it.

IDEAL BASE

We had a great time during our 10 days in Los Alcazares. We have holidayed here before on two previous occasions, but never experienced it quite so hot. The air conditioning in the apartment was a very welcome relief after a day in the sun. The apartment itself has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay and is ideally situated for the main strip down the Rio Nalon and only a short walk to the nearby beach. A little more of a walk takes you down into the older part of the town. We always hire a car and this is a great place for a base to explore further afield in Murcia. We particularly enjoyed coming back to the apartment on an evening and setting up the BBQ on the roof terrace and watching the sun go down whilst we ate a nice meal made out of the local produce bought in the local shops and markets and much more fun and cheaper than eating out in what I would consider to be quite expensive restaurants down the strip. If you do want to venture out to eat, the nearby El Patio restaurant is excellent and much better value than those down the strip.
We will certainly be going back to Los Alcazares at some time and would have no reservation about using your apartment once again. Only slight downside was lack of English channels on the TV, but otherwise, cannot fault it and would recommend it to others thinking of visiting the area.

Super apartment in great area

This is our fourth year in this apartment. It is great apartment with everything you need. The apartment is spacious and has so many extras that i would not have enough space to write. It has a great roof terrace with sun beds.
The communal pool is good and is a great place for families in a gated community.
Paul the owner could not be any more helpful in organizing any of your needs.
There is some great restaurants and bars five minutes walk from the apartment. There is also plenty of supermarkets and there is a market twice a week. The beach is a ten minute walk and is superb. It is great for families as you can walk well out and ther are plenty of watersports and pedaloes. There are also pleny of great beach bars open all day and open till night.
I would definitely recommend this apartment and the owner is very helpful

Stay in Los alcarazes June 30th

We had a great stay at the apartment. We were met at the airport by Meena who couldn't have been more firendly and we arranged pick up time with her on day of departure too.
Apartment had everything we needed, clean towels, t-towels and all the kitchen utensils for self catering. The roof top terrace was fantastic and a perfect setting to have dinner in the evening when it was abit cooler. The terrace had a canopy which was great to sit under when it was too hot.
The only negative was that there were no sunbeds round the pool area so you had to take them from the apartment on lie on your towels.We spent every day down at the beach which was a 10 minute stroll. Great location for big supermarket and Lidl was also near. A wide choice of restaurants were on the strip which catered for all tastes.
We wouldn't hesitate to go back again in the future. Paul was very helpful and I was very impressed that the damage deposit was paid back into my bank account the day after we arrived home.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Have just returned from a very relaxing week at El Divino.
This lovely apartment is spacious, well equipped and ideally situated for "The Square" in Los Alcazares, with its many bars and restaurants.
The rooftop terrace is perfect for sunbathing and the pool is within easy reach if you want to cool down.
From our initial enquiry with the owner Paul until our return home all arrangements and communications were hassle free.
Transfers to and from the airport were arranged through Paul with Meena who was very friendly, helpful and informative.
We plan to return to this apartment again and would highly recommend to anyone including family and friends.
