Situated in the area of the famous 'Haras du Pin', this beautifully renovated cottage has everything required for a relaxing, peaceful holiday. Enjoying the quiet of the Normandy countryside the cottage is located in a rural setting and is not overlooked. The garden is equiped with a stone BBQ, garden furniture, sun loungers and the terrace around the private swimming pool offers a spectacular view of the surrounding Haras (Stud Farms). Inside, the cottage is fully furnished with a large open fire, stone walls, wooden beams and a very comfortable sitting / dining room with Satellite TV/DVD and Stereo/CD. The kitchen is fully equipped containing a gas cooker, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and breakfast table. The bathroom has a corner bath with shower, washing machine and dryer. There is one double bedroom downstairs with access to the Terrace and one large bedroom upstairs which contains 1 double and 1 single bed. There is a single fold up bed if required. The cottage lies in the commune of La Cochere, between Gace and Argentan and is a couple of minutes from the famous Haras du Pin. Perfectly situated for exploring all of Normandy, including the Normandy Beaches, the towns of Camembert and Pont L'Eveque (famous for their cheeses), the historic town of Bayeux and the very popular Spa's at Bagnoles de L'Orne. The nearest villages with Bars/Restaurant/ Boulangerie etc are Almeneches (4km), Bourg St. Leonard and Le Merlerault. The town of Gace (17km) has a weekly market on Saturday afternoons and here you will also find Banks, Post Office, Bars, Restaurants, Presse, Tabac and a small Intermarche. The Hypermarkets of Leclerc and Intermarche are located in Argentan (17km) which also boasts a wide range of Bars and Restaurants etc., (the weekly market in Argentan is on Tuesday morning). The Chateau in Haras du Pin opens its doors every Thursday afternoon in the summer season for a 'spectacle' (display of the Stallions).

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rental rates include gas, electricity and water. Deposit of € 100.00 per week is payable on booking. Balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival as well as € 100.00 security deposit (breakages / damages) which is refundable two weeks after departure. October to April (inclulsive) electricty and fuel will be charged as an extra based on usage.
  • Duvets and pillows are supplied. You may bring your own Bed Linen or Bed Linen can be rented for €10.00 per person per week. Payment for linen rental is made to the keyholders on arrival. Please bring your own towels. Pool open from start of June until end of September.
  • We offer a 'First Shop' service. Simply email your shopping list to us and we will arrange to have it in the cottage for your arrival. Payment for shopping is made to the keyholders on arrival.

Honfleur , with charming fishing port, surrounded by first class seafood restaurants. Well worth a visit. Trouville/Deauville (1H25 / 127km). Deauville, known for it's tall colourful houses, beautiful beaches and famous promenade is an ideal day-trip. Normandy Beaches (1H30 / 121km). The Normandy Beaches of the historical D Day landings are an easy drive from here. Paris : By car (2H30 / 187km). From the train station in Argentan (free parking for your car) you can be in centre of Paris (Gare Montparnasse) in under 2 Hours.

Beautiful cottage with lovely views over the countryside. Excellent facilities,all to hand. The property was clean and well maintained.The weather was lovely most of the week, so children enjoyed the pool and BBQ s.
The cottage is quite remote so a car is a must, but towns only 15 min drive away. Worth a visit to the Beaches .
Would highly recommend this property to friends looking for a peaceful escape.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The cottage is equiped with everything you need need for a comfortable stay, the kitchen is home from home with every utensil and more including a very handy dishwasher. The living room is very comfortable with Sky TV video/DVD player, CD player, games, books and DVD's to watch, 2 good size bedrooms and large bathroom with washer/dryer. Outside has a fantastic large swimming pool and once the sun starts to go down fire up the barbeque for good food and wine with great company and wonderful surroundings. The cottage is in beautiful area with views as far as the eye can see, Tony and Mary who look after the place are very friendly and an invaluable source of information, we would highly recommend the cottage to anybody and we will be going again soon. For a special meal we would recommenf the Tete au loupe which is a 5 minute drive away, the food and service is awesome, we had a wonderful meal on our anniversary. All in all a great cottage in beautiful surroundings. A real credit to Miriam and Greg.
