Huntington Hollow Estate Cabin.
This beautiful estate guest cabin sits on 3+ acre of pasture land in the Owltown valley area. The property is private with a gated secure entrance yet is only 6 miles from town. A rustling creek runs the length of the property and separates the living quarters from the barn where two young dairy cows call home. Enjoy the sounds of nature as you drink that first morning cup of coffee on the porch or roast smores over the fire pit.
It will be hard for you to believe you are only two hours northeast of the hustle and bustle of Atlanta.
Only minutes from Vogel State Park, Brasstown Bald, Helton Creek Falls, and the Appalachian Trail. Hiking trails are close by, horseback riding at the Trackrock Stables, tubing, canoeing and kayaking nearby, mine for gold in Dahlonega, boating and fishing at Lake Notelly, jogging in Meeks Park, the changing of the seasons and the many local festivals. 30 minutes from Helen.
We moved to Blairsville from South Florida over ten years ago to enjoy a slower and more relaxed life style. We have never looked back and are enjoying our current way of life. We would love to share a piece of paradise with you.
Daniel & Jackie Huff purchased this cabin in 2007
Several natural springs on the property. Two spring fed ponds and 3+ useable acres of land.
This was a wonderful place for myself, my sister and 4 grandchildren(ages 9 1/2;10,11 and 14) to spend a few days away from most of the electronic world. Cell phone service is almost non-existent on property(it does work in town) and we left I pads, tablets, etc. at home. They do have a nice TV with Netflix and HBO. Daniel and Jackie were very kind and helped us feel right at home and Jared, their 9 year old, was enjoyed by all the kids. The property is a great place to play and near many things(45 min or less) to do if you like hiking, waterfalls, geocaching and tubing. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises in the next year or so.
We took two of our grandchildren and stayed in Blairsville. We had a great time. And there is nothing better then hearing "grandma, this has been the best day ever"....and not just once but daily. We panned for gold, hiked up mountains, played in the stream. Do you know, it took two loads of wash until I stopped seeing flex of gold in the dryer filter. Our hosts were great. We did not want for anything. Highly recommended.
The cabin was everything the listing said it would be. Clean, well maintained, fully stocked and the owners were available for any questions and eager to offer any assistance needed. The location is very central to many day trips and numerous activities near by, which we took advantage of and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit that particular area of Georgia. We had a great time, sharing the cabin with my sister and brother in law. The only one thing we missed was not having a washer & dryer at the cabin after hiking Blood Mountain one day and getting caught in the rain up on Brasstown Bald the next. But we managed and would go back regardless.
This cabin is exactly like the pictures and description.,, a delightful place with everything you could want for a relaxing mountain visit. There was plenty of room for six persons and it's clean and bright with a large yard area. It's a guest house for the owners who live onsite so you aren't secluded but you do have privacy. The owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I had informed them my family would be arriving very late at night and they actually stocked the fridge with milk and juice for the children!
We had a wonderful time and can't thank them enough for their thoughtfulness!
I highly recommend this property for families with children or for couples wanting a quiet retreat with lovely views
We were sweetly surprised by the beauty of the property upon arrival. The cabin was cozy and comfortable...a desirable home away from home. The 3 acres of neatly groomed lawn was perfect for sitting at night and watching the fireflies dance or just star gazing (coming from the city, I was actually able to watch several satellites pursuing their orbits, for the first time in my life). The surrounding forest held the sounds of the leaves rustling and birds chirping. My 9 year old daughter and I loved greeting the two young cows each morning in the adjacent pasture. How do you put a price on those experiences...? Well fortunately, the owner has it listed at an incredible bargain. I knew I was getting a good deal when I selected my dates, but I had no idea how favorable the deal would actually be! (Did I mention the friendly owner invited my two college aged sons along with him to go wake boarding!) I could go on and on about the property and fun we had just relaxing there, but I think I have made my point - while my family vacation was filled with great times and fun memories while exploring the surrounding area (hiking, waterfalls, sightseeing), the cabin and property was truly exceptional.
The listing for this property is accurate and reliable. The property is extremely clean and well maintained. The owner is friendly and helpful in advising about the surrounding area. I highly recommend this rental. When staying in this rental, get dirty and go hiking, wash off in the many waterfalls, tour the small towns, stop in at the farmers market, and eat as often as possible at Jim's Smoking Que!
As lovely as the pictures . Had a great time. Family was friendly and very helpful. This is a nice getaway and very private with many things to do near-by . Or to have a quiet week-end. Would recommend this to anyone visiting North Ga.
