This 1920’s bungalow was completely restored last summer with the perfect balance of vintage New England charm and modern art and style. Add to that the rare luxury of a quiet, friendly neighborhood, island and lighthouse views, plenty of parking and a short walk to the charming downtown village of Boothbay Harbor, and you have just found the Mid Coast Maine paradise you have been dreaming of! It doesn't stop there. Step inside and experience unique and top of the line amenities throughout. The gourmet kitchen will please even the most seasoned chef, with its gas cooking stove, wine chiller, superb lighting and endless counter space. Move into the living room to enjoy a fireplace, flat screen TV and furniture that will make you want to sink in for days. Just through the glass french doors you will find the cozy dining room, complete with a baby grand piano, a luxurious love seat and a dining table that looks out onto a spacious deck, sunset views and Atlantic waters beyond. The BBQ grill is conveniently located on the deck, just steps from the dining room table. The second floor offers 2 beautifully decorated bedrooms, and new, top quality beds and linens. A cozy study with water views a chaise lounge finish off the upstairs living space and a full bath, centrally located to all 3 rooms. Two more priceless features to this property are parking and location. Peak season in Boothbay Harbor can make it challenging to find parking and the location of this home eliminates any hassle and leaves more room for fun. Located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy what mid coast Maine living is truly about....natural beauty, relaxation and quality time. In addition to the endless attractions this region has to offer, many popular events take place throughout the year as well, beginning in April with our Fisherman's Festival. This event is unique to Maine and all of New England and is definitely worth taking in, even if it is off season. Windjammer Days happens at the end of June and the spectacular fireworks show over the harbor can be seen right from the front porch of this home! The same goes for the 4th of July fireworks display. Labor Day weekend brings the 10 day Harbor Fest which features numerous events and fun for the whole family.
We were so lucky to find this wonderfully restored New England bungalow tucked up on a quiet street overlooking the harbor.3 woman celebrating birthdays together, traveling from the West Coast and Europe for a week of catching up together, taking nature walks, relaxing on the porches, walking into town to shop or hit the happy hour at the Thistle Inn. The owner/designer certainly accomplished mixing old New England with a flair of new contemporary living. There really is no other property to compare it to in Boothbay Harbor. The furnishings and the artwork tell a story. Every detail reflects a 5 star property including a wonderful baby grand piano. The European designer gourmet kitchen opens up into an open and spacious living/dining room leading to a covered front porch and sunny side deck. The upstairs has 2 comfortable refurbished bedrooms and European linens. The 3rd bedroom is transformed into a cozy study/office with a panoramic view of the harbor. We hope to get back next year....loved it!
It is not in my nature to write reviews but I had too on this particular property.
We arrived after a long tiring drive too open the door to this little slice of heaven in Booth Bay Harbour.
I cannot tell you how wonderfully bright but most of all welcoming this property is.
Walking in we could not believe our luck.
We soaked in the bath to sooth our weary bones to then sit on every comfy chair like the three bears to finally end up on the deck to barbeque our fish looking out on the setting sun across the Booth Bay Inlet.
We love to cook so the kitchen was our dream come true with the most up-to-date appliances at our fingertips I felt I was in truly a gourmet kitchen.
Being the mother of a busy child I was thrilled to see the laundry was top of the line.
I think our favorite thing too do after our family hit the hay was for my husband and I to sit on the verandah with a glass of wine looking at the peaceful surroundings it was indeed hard to return to the city ofter our amazing break especially with the luck of finding this little treasure.
We stayed here last year when our usual rental was fully booked. We were so glad we did! This is a really lovely, newly renovated, clean, uncluttered home, with excellent amenities, and within a short walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor. There are two porches, each with a peek at the harbor, and a grassy yard, to take advantage of the sun at different times of day. We used the gas grill and the piano, and I loved to find a few flowers from the lovely garden to brighten up the dinner table. We highly recommend this rental for a smaller family or a couple. It was a pleasure to stay here, and we will be back next summer.
