Overview

Ithaca Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Experience Nature At Its Best, Without Giving Up Comfortable Amenities

Come relax and let all your worries float away as you relax on a private deck while listening to a babbling creek. Warm your toes with a crackling fire, as you watch the sun slowly dip behind the mountains.

Keep your eyes keenly attentive to the many opportunities to see wildlife at its best. It is very common as you pour your first cup of coffee, to see a bald eagle perched in a tree across the creek. Nearby a deer is going about it's daily activities unaware of your presence, and trout finding its first meal of the day in the clear water just off the edge of the bank.

This cottage features a fully equipped kitchen with many on hand ingredients ready to whip up your favorite meal. Comfortable living room with a leather sleeper sofa, large flat screen T.V., as well as a gas wood stove to take the chill out of those chilly nights. A cozy bedroom with a queen size bed, nice size bath with freshly washed towels and linens.

Attractions: Centrally located to many interests, Finger Lakes Wineries, Breweries, High class restaurants, Trout fishing, Hiking, and endless amount of state land for hunting/snowmobiling. There is also two kayaks/ life jackets, and fishing gear available to make your stay that much more enjoyable.

Nate and Tara Potter purchased this cottage in 2011

Why Nate and Tara Potter chose Ithaca

This home is perfectly situated to enjoy wildlife, as well as swimming, fishing, kayaking, shopping, and many more activities.

What makes this cottage unique

When we first saw the natural beauty of the surrounding area, it was love at first sight! It has been said, we have the nicest view of Owego Creek, and we would have to agree. The sounds of nature, and the creek, have a nice calming effect. You will enjoy it as much as we do!

Lovely vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this cabin for a week in late October for our vacation. The area was very rural and quiet while still only being 10 minutes away from a small town. We did not get to enjoy the outdoor activities very much since it was a bit chilly, but we utilized the fire pit and enjoyed watching the creek flow past. The amenities inside were top-knotch, from the espresso machine to the Vera Wang bath towels and bedding. The kitchen was more equipped than my own kitchen at home! Everything was very clean and easily accessible. The gas stove kept the cabin nice and toasty warm. The town of Ithaca is only a 30 minute drive, and from there the Cayuga Wine Trail is very close (and we highly recommend it!). The scenery was phenomenal with the leaves changing on the trees and all the mountains! When we decide to vacation in New York again, we will probably rent this cabin again.

We really did love it!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect little cottage. I was expecting a nice place from the photos and reviews,

But it really exceeded my expectations in almost every way. The house is very clean and well maintained.

Its obvious that a lot of thought and care went into all the small details. That made it feel like home.

This house is ideal for a couple or small family and for folks with a dog. The owners were great and answered all our questions promptly, both before and during our stay.

We really enjoyed the the gas "wood stove" in the living room, and the fire pit on the deck.... which was

our favorite spot to hang out. There are only a few stations available on the large TV, but there are lots of DVDs to pick from. The kitchen is really modern and has everything you could possibly need to cook a gourmet meal (which I attempted one evening). The coffee bar is deluxe with a french press, Keurig

and a professional type espresso machine. I wish there were directions on how to use it because it

was a bit intimidating to try!

The location is very private and a 5 minute drive to stores and restaurants in Owego. Its about 35 minutes drive to Ithaca (great town!) and 45 minutes to Watkins Glen (unbelievably beautiful.) We also toured some local winery's which was fun.

I plan on renting this property again in the future.

JUST AWESOME!

  • 5 of 5

This was the definition of home away from home! Perfect for us to come back to after each day out exploring the New York state parks, Catskill Mountains and the Finger Lakes area. It was sooooo much better than a hotel; especially the scenery and wonderful quiet in the mornings for coffee and evenings with a glass of wine by the fire overlooking the Owego Creek.

We've never witnessed so many Cedar Wax Wings at one time, and every evening feeding right in front of us over the creek! Saw many bird species around, and traveling up and down the creek. And the Bald Eagles did not disappoint; visiting most mornings. Just awesome!

Thank you for extending your home out to us! We enjoyed it very much and thought it was amazing!

Wonderful Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

The details and condition of this cottage are the best I have experienced in a long time. It was out of town but not so far to travel for shopping. Didn't catch any fish but saw an eagle, and on a road trip through the country, came upon a bear! Thanks so much Nate and Tara for this great little paradise.

Just perfect

Cabin was exactly as advertised. Absolutely everything you need and the kitchen is great. We certainly enjoyed the deck and fire pit. Shopping and cafés just a few miles away in town. Even caught several nice brown trout in the backyard.
