We really enjoyed our stay. My dad had just passed away & he loved the ocean. We were able to have a little memorial for him. The house was great. There were 4 couples & it met our needs.
We recently stayed at the home with our large family. The positives about the house are that the emails back and forth with reserving it were easy and response time was quick. The house is big to accommodate a big group and the location is very good with a nice view of the harbour and bridge in Newport.
Unfortunately I think the negatives do outweigh the positives. The property is titled as a luxury house but it is far from that and the photos on the site are a little misleading. It is very old and not really anything luxurious or modern about it. When we arrived there were bugs crawling around the carpet in the basement and although the towels were clean they were all damp/wet as were not dried properly. The carpet and flooring and appliances (except the fridge) are just really really old and worn out. Window blinds were broken and bent and dirty, etc.
We enjoyed the location and size of the property as well as the hot tub. Newport is a great little vacation spot for the family but unfortunately this property needs a major renovations before it should be titled a luxury house.
We had an amazing time! The house was perfect for my family of 5 and my brothers family of 4. There was plenty of space for all of us, without us feeling on top of each other. We loved being able to walk down to the pier and then to all the shops. We didn't realize that two bedrooms were on the first floor and the other two on the third, so my kids would not sleep in what they called the "creepy basement". Also there wasn't any extra towels for showers and hot tub usage for all of us, but we made do. My brother and I have SUVs and we filled up the driveway, not sure how they think 4 vehicles can fit, just FYI. All in all we had a great time and we would definitely come back.
The house is decent. But, nothing spectacular. Perfect for its purpose. The Bayfront is very peaceful except for the 24/7 sea lion barking. We enjoyed this home but, we wouldn't stay here again. It's nothing against the company or the house itself just our own personal reasons.
I had family members coming from California and Nebraska for a reunion. I wanted them to be able to enjoy the beautiies of the part of the country I am living in so rented 2 houses, one that was on the ocean and this one with the bayfront view for the July 4th celebration. It was an excellent choice. My family were all impressed with the view, the house, and the closeness to the bayfront. The fireworks were spectacular. Thank you for making their experience so memorable.
The view of the harbor and bridge from this house is perfect! The tall ships were visiting while we were staying there and it was neat to seem them sailing in the harbor. It was also entertaining to watch the fishing boats come and go from the harbor right below the house.
The house is situated just a quick 5 min walk from all the shops, restaurants and bars. It was great to just park at the house and walk everywhere. Don't miss the seals hanging out below the pier.
At the west end of town between the Coast Guard house and the bridge is the start of a walking trail that leads under the bridge and along the inlet to the beach. I'd recommend checking it out!
