Restored in a Périgordine style with no expense spared this comfortable accommodation is a pleasure just to stay in and have a holiday . Nestling in the rolling hills and woods on the Limousine/ Dordogne border it is ideal for a get away holiday just to sit and paint the wonderful countryside. If you stay for a week there are many medieval villages and pretty houses to visit and paint and days out painting can be arranged. A 10X 5 metres swimming pool with a sun deck and sun loungers are there for your leisure time and a wonderful garden full of flowers is inspirational. Clients can be met at Limoges Airport which is only 40 minutes away.,and therefore a car may not be needed. Bed and Breakfast is also available . There are full laundry facilities and a fully fitted kitchen. All rooms are new and comfortable with English style beds and full ensuite facilities. The owner is a cordon blue cook and will cook evening meals on request specialising in the local dishes.

Nearest Ferry: Caen/Oustreham at 400 Kilometres
Nearest Restaurant: St Yrieux at 5 Kilometres
Car: recommended
Rolling green fields and Limousine cattle are a real feature of this area. Many small lakes also add to the rural scene and the main crop of apples is very evident in the surrounding countryside. Unspoilt country lanes with very little traffic is one of the real pleasures of this area. Buzzards and Kites and a wonderful range of both woodland and garden birds are all seen on a daily basis and in summer, Hoopies and Golden Oriels come to visit. Périgueux is a wonderful old town and has many shops and good restaurants and is 1 hour away by car. Limoges is 40 minutes away and is famous for the porcelain which can be bought there. St Yrieix La Perche is 10 minutes away and Glandon with a large supermarche our nearest village. Pompadour, one of the National Studs with a wonderful Chateau is 40 mins away, Segur Le Chateau with its Medieval houses is 15 mins with Sarlat about an hour. We have a large beautifull lake with all facilities and a beach only 5 mins away by car.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Returnable Security Deposit of £250 required to be paid with the final payment 4 weeks before the commencement of the holiday. Security Deposit returned 1 week after the end of the holiday.
    Deposit of 10% payable at time of confirmed booking. All breakages to be notified and paid for at the time of the holiday, if possible, otherwise they will be deducted from the security deposit.
  • Your dog is welcome to join you on your holiday, the large garden is secure,, but we do ask you to respect the flower beds and lawn and to pick up any dog pooh. Dogs are strictly forbidden to sleep in the bedrooms and on the beds. Because of the heat in the summer, fleas and ticks can be abundant, so we ask you to deflea your dog as a precaution and to check every day for ticks. Also make sure your dog does not get into the pool. It is a liner and can easily be ripped. This will be a costly exercise for you!!

  • Bedrooms are under the old original Barn Beams and give lots of character to the rooms. All rooms are painted white with a touch of colour and the corridor has a special collection of violet paintings and a cabinet full of violet china . New ensuite facilities with luxury shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet , and lots of hot water! are ensuite to each room, with a large corner bath in the main bedroom. Dormer windows look out from the double rooms on to the garden and the swimming pool and views over the countryside with the woods and the fields and not a house in sight . That makes it very special and quiet. All Linen and towels are included in the price. Continental breakfast is also included in the price, but bacon and eggs and a English breakfast is a little extra for our B/B guests

Art Tuition by a qualified teacher on specific weeks is extra, please contact us for the rates. Not every week has a teacher but all art facilities are available including the large studio and the covered Abri. Full board is included for weekly students, how many days you require is up to you, so please ask for the prices for full board, but meals requested to be eaten out at local Restaurants are payable by the student. Transport on local painting trips is included in the holiday. Paints and canvas and watercolour paper are not included , please bring your own. Of course we have very good shops here to buy things needed.
