Javea: Arenal & port :
The Arenal is best known for its unspoiled beauty and 'Blue Flag Beaches' It is situated in a bay with lovely golden sandy beaches and palm trees, along with children’s play areas and volleyball nets. The magnificent 'Mount Mongo' provides a dramatic backdrop and shelters the town from the northern winds. The Arenal offers sun, sand and sea, along the promenade the summer nights are extraordinary, bustling and lively with its huge array of Shops, Bars and fine Restaurants along with craft stalls with a huge selection of handmade crafts from all over the world. There is also a small fair for children. PORT: The Port born as a traditional fishing community has been transformed over the years into one of the main tourist centres of the town with a large marina. It has evolved into a trendy dinning destination with its waterfront restaurants and cafe bars. A stroll through the port can be a true delight if taken in the afternoon with the arrival of the fishing boats.
Javea: Old Town:
Javea is a traditional Spanish town, it oozes ancient flavour, it is both rustic and monumental. It has not been spoilt by high rise construction or over development. The old town has many historical buildings set along narrow winding cobbled streets that all seem to lead to the town square. The heart of the old town evokes its medieval past with the church of 'San Bartolome', also the beautiful Neo-Gothic building, together they form the artistic centre of the town. There is a weekly Thursday market which is a hustle and bustle atmosphere selling wonderful Spanish crafts and delicious fresh fruit and vegetables. The town bursts into life at least once a month in the summer with the colour and the noise of a Fiesta often including Bull Running through the streets and magnificent fireworks along with street parades and dancing, these are a great attraction for all ages. It is certainly not a place to be missed, just to experience alone the Spanish daily way of life and the atmosphere.
Leisure activities:
The Costa Blanca can satisfy most peoples sporting desires. The warm seas are perfect for diving, snorkeling and water skiing. Jet Skis, Windsurfing and sailing are also available. From the Port marina fishing boats and yacht charters are available. You can visit Ibiza on a day trip from Denia port a 15 min drive away. There are 3 golf courses in the nearby surrounding area, one of which is located next to the 5 Star Marriott Hotel complex, complete with International Health Spa. Behind the arenal beach there is a large Tennis Club with Horse Riding too. Javea is within a 30 min drive to Benidorm, which has a large water park 'Aqualandia', the Dolphin Sea World Centre 'Mundomar' and 'Terra Mitica' theme park which has some of the largest rides in Europe. There is also 'Vergel Safari Park' not to be missed. Javea has its own 3000ft mountain 'The Montgo', this area is a nature park where you can walk or rock climb and enjoy incredible views across Javea and along the scenic coastline.
