Danielle and Scott Alexander. We are the lodge owners and like to think of ourselves as our guests personal concierge as well. Everything from planning an event (birthday, anniversary, family reunion or rehearsal dinner), wine tasting tours, menu selection with our private chef and restaurants not to miss. We are here to help our guests have a wonderful time in wine country.
Danielle Alexander purchased this lodge in 2004
We love the wine country. It is a happy place and we look forward to meeting new people and helping them enjoy their vacations in our paradise.
Resort Living all to yourself. We have everything a resort would have (pool, jacuzzi, waterfall, tiki bar, 54 private acres, beautiful views, amazing chef, babysitting service, wine tours, hiking and vineyard tours). We try to provide all the comforts of home and even toys for the kids.
As when booking or buying anything off the computer, we questioned what we were actually getting ourselves into. It turns out, that this was one of the best vacations I have ever had, thanks to our host Danielle. The hospitality along with the accommodations rates much higher then the available 5 stars! I would highly recommend getting the inside details from Danielle on the local wineries. Hope to return back to the Alexander Valley Lodge.
this past November was my fourth return trip to the cozy and beautiful Alexander Valley Lodge - our group had such an excellent time - I highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in a group trip to wine country.
Best place if you are looking to celebrate any big occasion with friends or family. We had several friends that came from all over California to celebrate everyone turning 40. The owners of the lodge, Danielle & Scott, were so very friendly, and assisted us with all of the arrangements; from organizing wine tours for our large group, to having an amazing chef come over and cook us one of the best meals we ever had! This place is spacious and very cozy inside. Bonus, that there was a pool and hot tub! Highly recommend this place for your next large gathering of family or friends, you won't regret it!
Words can't do justice to the wonderful time we had here. The home was truly beautiful in many ways. Everything inside is set to perfection. The owners are very friendly and were always available if we had any questions. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We can't wait to plan another trip there!
We've stayed at many vrbo.com properties over the past several years, but none was better than the Alexander Valley Lodge! It perfectly suited our group of 13 who flew in for a 5 day visit to celebrate a good friend's milestone birthday. Prior to our arrival, the owner was extremely helpful in answering logistics questions, and upon check in gave us a very thorough and detailed tour of the property. The home is extremely spacious, clean, and comfortable, particularly for a group of our size. We made all of our breakfasts and dinners at the house, as going out to restaurants would have been difficult with our number. We found the house well-supplied with ample dinnerware, glassware, and all manner of cookware. We lacked nothing. Also, on the recommendation of the owner, we arranged for Chef Courtman to cook dinner for us on one night, and it was nothing short of fantastic. We highly recommend him.
On the final full day of the trip, rather than spend another day sightseeing, our group decided to relax at the Lodge instead. We all realized that enjoying the comforts of the home was a far better way to spend our time together. It's that nice!
The location of the Lodge is extremely convenient to Highway 101, Healdsburg, and scores of area wineries. The one mile private road leading up the hill from the Highway does have a number of twists and turns, but is well maintained and relatively easy to drive if you go slowly. Parking in front of and behind the home is ample, as it easily accommodated 4 cars and an RV (driven in by local friends).
In short, there's no reason NOT to stay here if your group is visiting the area.
Alexander Valley Lodge….
My husband and I stayed at the Alexander Valley Lodge for a small family reunion. We arrived late and it was dark as we drove up the drive. When we got out of the car I felt like I was standing in front of a castle. Each room I entered was so spacious and I imagined how much fun it would be to have a big group of family and friends socializing in the very interesting two level living rooms. There was even a running fountain in the living room as we entered the house. It was late so we went to sleep, but woke early because I was anxious to look around. First night sleep was short but bed was very comfortable! My first view of Northern California was out the huge picture window in the master suite. It was breath taking! I immediately took a picture and sent it to people back home. I then investigated the rest of the house and found every room interesting and decorated so uniquely. Huge, beautiful and very comfortable are a few words I would use to describe the lodge. It was a very peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable visit. Danielle and Scott are the best!
The house looks like the pictures and has great views. It's a steep climb up the hill a mile to the house which was a little scary on the drive in, but got more used to it as the weekend went on. I jogged down the hill and around Geyserville then back up the hill, so really got my workouts in. My husband drove the car down to run on flat ground (bad knees).
Everything was clean, and well maintained. Danielle was so helpful with my 100s of questions before we arrived. We were in for a wedding so only at the house in the morning and late at night, which was good since there was no central a/c, and i think Healdsburg had one of it's hottest weeks in a long time.
4 out of the 6 bedrooms had a/c units, but the one I stayed in and my boys stayed in didn't have a/c and so were very warm. The ceiling fans are out of balance so just had them on low. Luckily they have a beautiful patio so we would hang out there til late at night. Danielle brought more fans to try to help with the heat, it was just a very hot week, not much you could do. The pool and jacuzzi were a nice relief from the heat.
Thank you Danielle for all you did to help with the heat best you could.
Hope we can come back when it is cooler in fall or spring.
