Begur Vacation Rental villa: Casa de Campo

The house rental was handled by an agent, not the owners,which was a new experience for us as you can usually get bits of information, local knowledge and tips about the property prior to arrival. However, the agency were very efficient and we followed our directions from Girona airport and found Begur and our holiday house quite easily, despite it being after midnight!
First impressions were all good: quiet, select neighbourhood, nice accommodation, fabulous swimming pool and a stunning view. Although air conditioning was only available in two of the bedrooms, extra fans were left out for use and this was appreciated.
Begur is a great location, within easy reach of lots of lovely beaches. We found a great water park (Aquadiver) about 30 mins away in Platja D'aro. Easy to find, nice size and suitable for all ages. Also had a day out in Barcelona, travelling time approx 2 hours by car.
Car essential for this holiday.
Negative points would be: Bathroom towels and bedlinen were not included so these had to be hired. No mid-holiday house clean/towel change (washing machine provided for DIY). We had quite a problem with ants in the house, despite being very careful with food prep and always eating outside. Insect sprays were provided. We stayed at the end of August and by 4pm each day we lost most of the sun due to trees surrounding the property.
Overall - great location, climate perfect for children, not too hot. Good standard of accommodation.
