About Warren d'Aquin

Scuba Instructor Trainer; West Coast Swing Dancer and Teacher; Farmer. I've lived in Kona for 30 years and know the area well. Anything you are interested in doing or seeing during your stay, just ask!

Warren d'Aquin purchased this farmhouse in 2000

Why Warren d'Aquin chose Holualoa

My home is unique because it is located among agricultural farm land and feels private and secure. Yet a shopping center is only 2.5 miles away and Kailua Kona is only 8 miles away.

The property is gated.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Great sunsets; Cool mountain air at night. Large 1200 square foot lanai (deck) over looking the ocean. Partially covered so even if it rains you can enjoy the lanai. The sitting area, lounge chairs and living room set make you want to spend all your time here.

Amazing experience

  • 5 of 5

After years of staying in condos in Kailua Kona , we decided to try something different this time around. Warren's property sounded like a breath of fresh air and that's exactly how it was! The house and gardens were immaculate, the views spectacular and nothing could beat dining Al fresco on the amazing lanai. In fact, we often opted to buy local delicacies and cook dinner on the grill instead of going out for dinner. Another aspect was looking forward to the quiet and privacy of this retreat after a day of sightseeing. The caretaker looks after the property and makes you feel at home without intruding on your privacy. We throughly recommend this property to people want to try a stay away from a resort. Thanks for letting us share your amazing lifestyle.

Exceeds Expectations!

  • 5 of 5

We have been using VRBO's for the last several years and feel it's the only way to travel. However, every time we go we are just a bit apprehensive, always wondering if the pictures, the description and reviews are accurate. Well, Warren's place exceeded all those expectations! The views were more amazing than the pictures could do justice! The house was immaculate and had everything we could need. Since we were working part time while we were there, it was important to have great internet and cell phone coverage which we did. The house and grounds were private yet close to many amenities. Having a large deck that provided both sunshine and shade was wonderful especially because so many places provide one or the other but not both. There were some days that we didn't even they the property! I can't say enough good things about Elaine, the property care-taker. She lives below but you would never know it. Elaine was so very helpful for everything! She also raises chickens and sells eggs at the local farmers market but she always made sure she had extra for us to buy. My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay for 3 weeks. We loved it so much that before we even left we asked Warren if we could come back next year and stay a whole month. He said "yes" so I already booked the dates!

The Ultimate Peaceful Experience

  • 5 of 5

The experience of staying on this property is something we will never forget. The whole house is open to the outside while keeping the critters out. People do live on the bottom floor but you get the whole top floor to yourself we rarely saw the other people. We loved watching the sunset from the porch and the location is perfect for visiting many of the nearby beaches. My wife and I were ready to move in.

Beautiful, Peaceful Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Warren's house and wished we'd booked it for our entire trip. The house is beautiful and comfortable, with awesome views of the ocean from the bedroom, dining room, and the giant lanai. Warren was a gracious host and was readily available for any questions we had, but also respected our privacy. He was staying in the downstairs unit while we were there, but we only saw him once. It really did feel like we had the whole house to ourselves. The house is on a working farm and so renters are asked to keep it down after 10pm (hence, not suitable for partiers). That was fine with us, since we were usually in bed by then after a day of adventures in the sun! The property is really beautiful and feels remote, but is actually quite close to stores, restaurants, and maybe a 15 or 20 minute drive from downtown Kona. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future!
