Lovely comfortable house in a beautiful peaceful setting, a good base to explore the surrounding countryside. The owners supplied a lot of information about things to see and do along with good directions to all local places of interest. My husband and I enjoyed the slow pace of life but our children (age 14,12 and 8) did find it a bit quiet and we did have to do a lot of driving to get anywhere. We also found it difficult to find somewhere nice to eat as many restaurants were closed during the week even in the towns. It wasn't too much of a problem as it was lovely to eat at home in the picturesque surroundings. All and all it was a good holiday but maybe not the first choice for teenagers.

Owner's Response: There is a great combination of peace and quiet along with lots to explore, though you do need a car to get the very best out of the area.

Very Relaxing with the whole family

We stayed there with our whole family, as we booked both cottages so the family and children were able to go between the two and because it was very secure, they were able to roam freely and have fun!

The cottage was clean and bright and the upstairs bedrooms were very large and spacious. We didnt have very good weather for August, so a car is definately needed to get out and about. We had a powercut on one of the days that we also had a storm so it was quite exciting for the children to be sitting in candlelight listening to the rain/thunder! T
The front porch was a god send and we sat the whole family round the table for dinner and the children had the smaller table, Ideal! We played games there, great conversations and drank the very cheap wine from the supermarket - heaven!
The beaches of Le Touquet & Le Bereck were fantastic and so clean, with lots for the children to do. We did attempt Paris for the day - but it was a very long day, in total a 4 hour train journey and 60 min car ride, so we didnt really get to see too much but if you did want to go then maybe stay overnight to get the best out of the Paris sites.
The correspondence that we had with the owners was first class and they have been extremley helpful all round. It certainly isnt the place for a fun filled non stop holiday, but a more relaxing, calm and restful one!!

Only one little moan, the freestanding shower didnt drain very well and you tended to paddle whilst showering! But on the whole a little gem!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the positve feedback.
We'll get the shower drain unblocked before your next visit.

my family of four had a fantastic time at the cottage. amble of secured outside space for the kids to play. the area is very quiet and relaxing; good for walking. attractions like beaches, water park and villages are within easy reach. we even managed a day trip to EuroDisney. The property is very clean and tidy. the attic bedroom is spacious. the outside porch was perfect for evenning meals or relaxing with a glass of wine.

definitely return in the future.

We had a lovely break in the Maison Verte at October half term with our boys 13 and 11.

Thanks to the fantastic information provided by the owners about the area we were really able to make the most of the short holiday.

The cottage was just spot on, comfortable, light and bright, with views of the garden, warm (it was chilly outside) and all we needed. the boys appreciated the books, board games and the TV!

The trip to the underground town and Amiens was interesting (had lunch in the university canteen, very reasonable). The boys would go back just for Aqualud at Le Touquet, the indoor water park.

Charming house in Peaceful area

The house and grounds were lovely and peaceful and looked exactly as described and seen in photos. There was plenty of space outside for our children to play in and as it was secure and well away from the road was also very safe. The property is in a lovely quiet and rural setting but is within easy reach of many fabulous beaches and towns and there is so much lovely scenery nearby - a week was just not enough time to fit everything in that we wanted to do! We would recommend this place and would definitely go back again.

Owner's Response: A week's never enough - that's why so many people come back time and again to this area.

The rear of La Maison Verte backs on to the garden of La Maison Jaune but has no windows overlooking that house. Similarly, La Maison Verte is not overlooked at all. Both houses are detached and have separate entrances from the road, their own gardens and parking areas so enjoy complete privacy, but can one can be accessed from the other easily through a gate if a larger party wants to rent both houses. Both houses have their own access to the 5 acre field.
