With breathtaking mountain views from sunrise to sunset, this chalet style cabin is minutes from downtown Murphy, yet feels a world away. This easily accessible 3 bedroom, 3 bath chalet offers a pool table, gas fireplace and all the amenities of home. Whether you are looking to unwind, while having your favorite beverage on the deck enjoying the views and surrounding wildlife or enjoying one of the many activities within the area, this cabin is ideally situated. There are an abundance of activities from whitewater rafting on the Nantahala or Ocoee River, home of the 1996 Summer Olympic whitewater competition, to nearby waterfalls, boat rentals, fishing, tubing, gem mining, horseback riding, and zip lining just to mention a few. This chalet is just 15 minutes from John C. Campbell Folk School which offers year-round classes in old world arts and an opportunity to meet renowned artists in the craft community. Also, within a short distance away you can visit Brasstown Bald with an elevation of 4,784 feet above sea level. This observation deck offers a breathtaking view of the mountains’ scenic vistas, which sweep a four state area. In addition, you can always try antiquing or shop to your heart’s content in any of our local shops and Farmer’s Market.
Once you have worked up an appetite you can choose to create something in our fully equipped kitchen or outside grill. Or just kick back and relax while you let the many nearby restaurants do the cooking for you.
We have been vacationing in the Murphy and surrounding areas for years and fell in love with the views from this home.
Very clean, very comfortable and spacious, great location and wonderful views from both decks. Would highly recommend.
Nothing about this chalet was disappointing. It was clean and comfortable; private but not remote; and the wonderful view can be enjoyed from inside the cabin as well as from the deck. The downstairs was perfect for my teenage son - bedroom & bath off a gameroom with a pool table, tv, and its own deck. Skyview is the place to relax, have fun, and share a vacation with family. We also had a great meal at ShoeBooties Cafe in Murphy.
A beautiful home which was in a secluded location but close enough to activities we wanted to do. Tbe owners stocked everything well. The only thing I didn't like was not having a TV in the main living area. We had to go to the basement area where the game room was ti watch television...also we spent several days there with heavy rain which made the steps very slick causing my son to experience a fall. Need something added to the steps.Otherwise a great vacation home.
This was our first visit to Murphy, NC. While we are more familiar with the TN area of Ocoee, this too is a great location for a relaxing vacation. We arrived at dark, but cabin was easy to find. The ride up the mountain was no problem with the directions the owner provided. It is literally only about a mile off of the main Hwy 64 near everything that you need (Walmart, Lowe's, gas, fast food, full service restaurants), yet you feel miles away in quietness - secluded by trees with only the sounds of nature. After a wonderful night's rest in the very comfortable king sized bed, we opened our eyes the next morning to such a beautiful mountain scene right from the loft, looking through the floor-to-ceiling "Skyview" windows from the bed. This majestic view can be enjoyed from loft bedroom, living room, dining area, and of course, the open patio/porch. It was the highlight of our trip as we enjoyed the scenery and morning breeze from the rocking chairs, or sitting at the dining table near the gas fireplace. While this vacation was mainly to rest and relax, there are also many things that we enjoy doing nearby in TN: whitewater rafting on the Ocoee river, canopy zip lines at Raft One outfitters, Hiking to waterfalls on Chilhowee mountain and enjoying the scenic overlook towards lake Ocoee where I proposed to my wife 23 years ago!
The cabin itself was very clean, updated, and decorated to give you a very "at home" feeling. My wife has a lot of allergy problems and she said this rental was one of the cleanest that she has ever stayed in by her strict standards and therefore, had zero problems with her allergies. The pictures of the cabin are accurate, however, the camera cannot possibly capture the beautiful view of the mountains as it really is. As good as the photos are, that view must be experienced in person. We also enjoyed the kind and hospitable "small town" feeling of Murphy during our town excursions. The people seemed so genuine even in the fast food drive-throughs! The "Chophouse" and "Doyle's" restaurants offer great outdoor seating to enjoy the seasonal fall air.
We want to say a big "Thank You!" to the Milian's for sharing your mountain home with us this past week. It was exactly what we needed!
The cabin exceeded our expectations as soon as we arrived. The views from the living room, upstairs loft, and deck are superb. Definitely a cabin for those that want unobstructed views of the scenery and do not want to be next to another cabin directly. There is not wifi at the cabin, as indicated by another review, but we did not have a problem with cell service. Having the satellite TV service made watching the weekend football games a breeze. Overall this is a great retreat if you want simple and elegant and do not mind disconnecting a little from your hectic life back home.
My family loved the cabin and the surroundings woods area. We live in South Florida and mountains are hard to come by, the views are amazing!!!!!
We went on Ocoee (Cascade Outdoors) white water rafting (ask for Caleb, he will give you a ride on the river to remember), drove two hours to Rock City and Ruby Falls, Smokey Mountain Railroad train and horse back riding.
The cabin was a great location to all of our excursions, grocery stores and fast food areas.
All the amenities of away from home in the cabin, the kitchen is stock with all utensils, housewares to cook and cleaning supplies to do touch ups. The beds are very very comfortable.
Thank you for letting us use your cabin for our family vacation. My family will talk about this trip for a very long time.
