I work in the healthcare profession for over 27 years. I fell in love with Kauai in 2005. Slowly I have been trying to create a life in Kauai, by having a small slice of paradise gives me great excuses to visit more often and take time out of my busy life. This property is very new to being privately managed. I just remodeled the entire unit. so everything is new and fresh.

The healing power of this location is beyond words. As the waves crash against the shore, the smell of the rich oxygen in the air, surrounding by the lush live of vegetation and entertained by natures amazing wonders of turtles, whales and migrating birds. It really is magical
The intimate setting, nestled on the eastern seaside coast, slightly elevated above the sand giving you Big ocean views, great sound of the surf to create a perfect lullaby for a restful night sleep. Kapaa sands is a very small comples of 24 units. With approximately 16 units on the direct ocean.
From the very first seconds we felt in love with Mary's place, it was for sure what was described and even better, the view is out of this world, we never thought it was going to be that beautiful, imaging having the ocean right next to you when you sleep... very very very special. We cooked almost every day since it has a complete kitchen, anything you need for cooking or baking is here. There was snorkeling gear, binoculars, music, cable TV, the bed (wow fantastic and very comfortable). The location of the place is perfect because it has a mini-private beach and it is nearby many places for groceries shopping and souvenirs. A couple of friends that stayed at the Marriot Hotel told us, after visiting us for a day, that next time they will definitely choose this place for their stay. And the place was very clean and organized perfectly. Regarding Mary, she responds very quickly to any phone calls, and she addresses any questions or concerns in the same call, so that was very assuring for us which made us feel we are in good hands and under a very serious person in charge. Thanks Mary, it was an honor to spend those 8 days at your place, and we will come back again, and again, and again. Loved it! 5+ stars!

Nothing but good news here--my partner and I have exprienced lots of accommodations in our 17 years of travel together---this place was A+ for what matters to us. Clean, completely furnished, wonderful view, fairly priced for a wonderful oceanside setting. Walking distance to shops and restaurants ( not our biggest need but certainly handy). Snorkeling literally right outside the front door. Handy drive to more restaurants and the hiking and beaches of the island. Well equipped kitchen and bathroom--just simply --nice. The second floor was great--kids now and then down below were not a problem for us. The owners could make it easier to find by referencing that there is a sign:"Kapa'a Sands" at the entrance to our parking lot. Without question we would return to this condo.
We loved this place. My wife and I spent eleven fabulous days on our honeymoon. The location is great, easy jog to the north or south coasts. The view from the deck is probably on a postcard somewhere. We could view the sunrise from the bed. The place is very tastefully decorated and updated. There were beach chairs, snorkel gear and a boogie board for our use. It is walking distance to some good restaurants - the Huki Lau Lanai is a great restaurant and the Trees lounge is a great place to see some local musicians, just down the street in the Coconut Grove. There is also a farmers market there on Tuesdays and Fridays. Shop at the Food King not Safeway, much cheaper. We went to Costco on our way in and picked up some steak and lobster but the Food King has everything and much more convenient.
Don't hesitate to book this place if you want a quiet, relaxing stay!
Unforgettable journey on Kaua'i! Five wonderful days in Kapa'a! This sea front condo is tastefully decorated, very clean and well equipped. Located in a peaceful area, it is surrounded by lush vegetation and next to a nice little beach. Even the waves are singing lullabies at night! Kapa'a will seduce you! This small town offers everything you need from groceries (Superstore), restaurants, pharmacies to gift shops. Its location facilitates day trips/activities from Po'ipu to the north shore beaches of Kaua'i. There is so much to do in the area, we strongly recommend a minimum stay of 5 days.
We loved this apartment. Although small, it was perfect for the two of us. We loved the lanai and more than once opted to bring "take out" so to be able to sit and eat outside, listening to the surf. There is an unobstructed view of the ocean.
The apartment was clean (although the small throw rug was pretty worn and probably should be replaced).
We would absolutely return here if we were to stay at Kapaa again.
Loved the unit. Mary was great with communication. This unit is on the second floor of a 4 unit building. Balcony looks right outside like the picture. The sand is amazing, its not sand, it is small pebbles that is amazing and great! There is a lagoon type thing on the beach if its not high tide that is utilized. There is a tree swing as well. Very private area. Unit has everything you see.
No A/C , just a fan and windows to use. So may get stuffy if you are a a/c person. Parking is right in front and private so very easy. There is a pool area with a grill if needed. The unit comes stocked with everything you need. The shower is standup shower and bathroom is small. Works great, but if you are obese or large person, the bathroom area/shower may not be a good fit.
There is a hose to spray down your self before you get to your unit. Loved it! Unit has supplies for snorkeling as well.
Right down the street from some shops and stores. Try out the bakery shop for sure down the street. The korean BBQ place was good too. Clean unit overall. Kept in good condition. Wifi works as well. Would love to stay here again but probably. I love to sleep in cold temp but with windows open and the sound of the ocean, it was great still. Very private secluded complex.
My husband and I were so thrilled when we walked in the door of this condo. Everything was so inviting and CLEAN. The light blue and white beach decor made us feel at home; yet we were in paradise. It is obvious that Mary cares very much for her condo and we were sure to respect her wishes (pull back white comforter) and did our best to leave the place in better condition than when we arrived (hard to do here!).
I very much recommend this place to any couple looking for a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay while in Kauai. Customary to many who reside on the island- there is no air conditioning. There is a ceiling fan and full sliding door that allows a cool breeze all night. The ocean is VERY close and can get a bit loud so we also recommend ear plugs for the early morning if you are sensitive to waking early. That said, we recommend rising with the sun to watch and listen to the beautiful sunrise that greets you each day :)
East Coast of Kauai, centrally located to access both the south and north shores. Near the mouth of the Wailua River, easy access to Kayaking, hiking, snorkeling and paddle boarding. This is the begining of the beautiful bike path that snugs the coast line for miles.
