Quality individually built villa in quiet location, POOL WITH CHILD SAFETY FENCE, excellent access in this area of outstanding natural beauty. Handy to either Alicante or Valencia airports and the beaches of Calpe, Moraira, Javea and Denia. Local activities include walking, cycling, horse riding and golf or simply chill out by the pool, which is private being surrounded by an olive grove and the villa. A few minutes walk is the village centre of Benigembla with shops, cafe's and restaurant, the other side of the village is a semi Olympic sized new swimming pool, tennis courts and recreational area. A variety of good restaurants offer a three course menu from 8 euros. The Jalon valley is famous for its fine wines and stunning mountain scenery, you will travel through orange, olive and almond groves on the way to this villa, simply heaven. This villa is very unusual in that all its accommodation is on the ground floor, and therefore suitable for families and less able people.

A landscape of ancient olive and almond groves mixed with vineyards and handcrafted terraces. The Valley Les Murtes or the myrtles, is named after the ceremonial plant that grows here abundantly. Together with local fragrant pines, the morning air has a special freshness. Benigembla sits in a quiet picturesque spot between Murla and Parcent, further down the valley, the town of Jalon presides over an agricultural heritage that dates back to Moorish Spain. The blue glazed terracotta dome of the church sits high above the square, visible for miles around. The peace of the mountains is regal, but not far away is the temptation of the Costa Blanca coast.

Walking: During the cooler months we are able to walk direct from the villa in some of the best walking country around and we are still finding different walks after 4 years. Best months to walk Oct - May. This area is popular with the Costa Blanca Mountain Walkers (cbmwalkers.org)

Cycling: Professional teams train in this area and frequently pass the house as well as the local club riders mostly out on weekends and holidays. Mountain biking for all abilities again from the villa.

Fiesta: Each village enjoys it’s own Fiesta and as there are many villages there is always the opportunity to enjoy and participate in this Spanish institution. Benigembla has it’s Fiesta starting around Aug 10th each year.

Villa Casa Dolphin.

Just returned from a two week break at the Casa Dolphin, weather in March was excellent sunny warm days, cool evenings, excellent location for activities such as walking and cycling in the Jalon Valley. We did quite a lot of cycling around the area, Bernia, Col de Rates, Castell de Castells, Val de Ebo, ( the caves here are worth a visit) Guadalest and Xabia. This way we could see a lot more of the real Spain away from the tourist traps. Joined up with the Costa Blanca walkers and enjoyed two moderate walks, with good friendly company, at the end of the walk we either had lunch or stopped for drinks. A car is essential to view the sites further afield such as Calpe, Denia, Moraira, and Valencia is well worth visiting.
Restaurants are plentiful 2 in Benigembla, walking distance, and in all the nearby villages, but if eating in is your thing you’ll find everything you need in the well equipped kitchen, with local a supermarket ,MasYMas, at Jalon which has every thing you could need. The rooms where spotless and the property well maintained, outside pool for cooling of on those hot afternoons.

Recommended for: Active/Outdoor People, Romantic Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers

This Villa is perfect in a lovely part of the country which ticks all the boxes for our holiday, so much so this year will be our third stay. As a family with 3 young kids the Villa itself has everything you could need including kids TV! The pool is brilliant and very safe which inturn allows my wife and me to relax even more around the BBQ area or by the pool.
The location of the Villa is within easy access of two airports and this part of the country is beautiful, friendly and very relaxing away from the normal hustle and bustle of our generally hectic lifestyle.
We would highly recommend this Villa to anyone.

Peace and tranquility

My wife, two kids and I spent a couple of weeks here in October '08.
The villa is pleasant and has all that one requires for a great holiday.

The surrounding area has to be seen to appreciate its beauty; the photos don’t do it justice, whilst very rural it’s a 20 min drive roads to a variety of towns which straggle the coastal motorway. We particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet that the villa and village had to offer and would consider it attractive to both families and couples wanting to chill out. The villa is also well situated for rock climbing and we spent many hours on the fantastic and quiet cliffs lining the Jalon valley.

There are good walking opportunities from the villa, access is easy and the accommodation all on one level.

Cycling

I have stayed at this villa on three occasions in December and March when the weather was like a British June. I did not have a car but toured the area extensively on a bicycle, the roads are quiet the drivers careful and the scenery fantastic, stopped at many bars and restaurants the food and wine was excellent, most Spanish people seem to speak English, I recommend the Bar Casa pinet in Tarbena for food, I also stayed in Tarbena for one night at the small hotel so that I could sample the food and wine in local tapas bars, there are walking clubs that meet in the village of Benigembla for walks in the mountains, when I was not cycling or walking I relapsed around the pool with a glass of wine and a book, very enjoyable. I found the owners of the villa very helpful.

Lots of fun

The villa is beautiful. theres a lemon tree in the garden, gecko's are everywhere but you cant catch them! the pool is nessesity and luxury. Inside is always nice and cool. The valley its in is gorgeous. British TV so you dont have to miss eastenders. You will though. It was clean and tidy, beds are comfy, fully furnished kitchen lots of space inside. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived.So thank you.

The village has a resturant and a bar an they are both cheap and really friendly and about a 5 minute walk from the villa. We were given tee shirts by the bar el gat! The bar el gat is run by an english couple and has really cheap and really good tapas. The nearest super market is about 15 mins away so you have to drive but the roads are quiet.

Within an hours drive there are theme parks and Water parks! you must go to a water park!! theres a market in Jalon on saterday thats about 15 mins from the villa and is a must see! Theres also a taxi driver in Jalon. I left his card on the notice board. i only found him on the last day so i havent used it yet but there is no public transport so he would come in very handy for eating out and drinking. 25 minutes to the beach.

We will back next year if we can!!

We were axctually there last june but I only remembered to review after looking through holiday snaps. so sorry we didnt review sooner!!
Owner's Response: Thanks for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed your holiday, there is now a small supermarket in the next village, 5 mins by car. Jalon has a good sized one which is 10 mins away. On Tue, Thurs and Sat market stalls are set up in the village selling fresh fruit and veg.
