Fly to Puerto Vallarta and get picked up, we are 65 miles north, a bit past Sayulita, at Platanitos, in an area of stunning beauty, away from the masses of tourists, high prices, traffic and vendors, set in wondrous ocean landscape, with the Sierra Madre Mountains behind us, an eco preserve estuary brimming with fish, turtles, and exotic birds.
Villa Estrella is an open type, architect designed palapa designed for you and nature to commune in wondrous style and luxury, live the soft warm ocean breezes, blue ocean is everywhere, three bedrooms, three baths.

The villa is furnished and decorated with comfort, imagination, warmth and style. Bring your ipod and let your musical dreams soar on our space filling stereo.
Rosa the queen of your kitchen will take care of you; feed you, clean for you. Ismael your host will attend to all your needs for adventure, excursions or any other requirements you may have.
Our meal plan provides all the food snacks and drinks; your refrigerator is stocked just like at home. Rosa cooks up tasty home cooked fare, all you need do is sit down and enjoy. Come to be pampered, come to be spoiled, come to relax.
Come to see the whales, come to help release the baby sea turtles, come to surf, come to ride horses on the beach, come to hike in to the waterfall, come to fish, it’s all here.
Come for the real Mexico, no tourist traps here, see the simple villages, go to a fiesta in the town square, go to the village market, go to the rustic restaurants in Platanitos for mesquite grilled snapper, camarones al mojo de ajo, icy beer, barefoot in the sand. Watch the Mexican families and the children, it’s absolutely wonderful.
Visit the historical Spanish naval port of San Blas, see the old fort and cathedral, buy trinkets in the square. Go to the market. San Blas is the port from which the King of Spain launched all exploration of the Pacific Northwest, and resupplied all the missions of California.
Villa Estrella is one of 15 lovely villas on the peninsula known as Punta el Custodio, a beautiful village-like community with winding cobbled footpaths, vehicles are discouraged, gardens and jungles predominate, many houses almost invisible behind the masses of palms and flowers.
Excellent management ensures that the villa is perfectly maintained and that guests are treated with attention, respect and dignity. There is 24 hour support, gate access is controlled. Villa Estrella is in one of the safest regions of Mexico, theft and crime are unknown in this community, the local Mexicans are warm hearted, friendly, outgoing and charming.
Villa Estrella was lovingly designed, built and furnished by its Architect owners for eventual retirement. The villa is beautifully decorated in an intimate personal manner. The love for nature, and the way the villa brings nature inside is stunning.
Jackie purchased this villa in 2000
We love nature. We disdain mass tourism. We look for escape from commercialism. We seek individuality of experience. We have traveled the globe and have rarely encountered a more beautiful or unspoiled setting. Rare and hard to find seclusion combined with luxury, service, safety, community.
Incredible natural setting. Ocean on 3 sides, beautiful swimming pools. Your own full time maid who also cooks for you. A host manager to take care of all your needs. Whales in winter, turtles in summer.
As we approached the villa from the narrow rocky road, I have to admit we were a little leery. As the driver pulled through the gate, we saw the beautiful colors surrounded by lush greenery contrasting with the cobblestone pathways. It looked as if we had descended into paradise! As we entered the villa, little were we aware the beauty we would encounter from the flowers, blue sky and the blue water of the pool! It was just gorgeous everywhere we turned! Finally, to top things off, a scrumptious dinner awaited us. We will definitely be returning.
After a record cold February in Toronto we decided to recharge our batteries basking in the warm sun at Villa Estrella. This was our 2nd visit to this beautiful and very peaceful retreat in Nayarit.
Walking along the pristine beach, boogie boarding, swimming in the pool or just relaxing with a good book and a margarita, are just a few of the wonderful activities we treasured. Falling asleep to the sound of the wind and the ocean nurtured the best sleep I can remember in years. The whales frolicking in the ocean on our last evening was the icing on the cake; an amazing vacation!
The food was great and plentiful.
Looking forward to our next visit!
Once again the most amazing trip ever! Just north of Sayulita is the hidden gem that is Villa Estrella. It is located within a remote community of lush gardens and beautifully appointed seaside villas. Villa Estrella feels like your own luxurious home, appointed with rich, authentic furnishings. Rosa is an amazing cook and caretaker. She prepares gourmet meals using fresh local produce. Most days were spent sunbathing and swimming at the large pool with incredible vista views. In the evenings, we would sip drinks in our own personal heated infinity pool. Our adventures included whale watching, visiting the turtle and crocodile sanctuaries, visiting a beach side restaurant for oven roasted pizzas, and surfing the waves on the private beach. This is the best value for money for people wanting a relaxing holiday away from the crowds of big resorts who want to see and experience the real beauty of mexico.
This was my first time staying at Villa Estrella and I sure hope it is not my last. Even though we came at the end of raining season there was still ample sunshine and some amazing thunderstorms in the evening. The Villa itself is breathtaking from the very first moment you walk in the door, you are immediately blown away by the view of the ocean from your open air living room with a huge vaulted ceiling. The location, in the small gated resort community of villas, is perfectly situated directly beside the communal pool if you are looking to do laps. However, the villa also has it's own infinity pool attached to the villa perfect for keeping cool and staring out into the ocean for hours on end. If that wasn't enough the Villa came with the most amazing Mexican ladies who were there daily cooking us amazing meals and keeping everything in order. Rosa and Rakell were so sweet I just wish I could have them everyday. The meals were absolutely delicious. Everyone there including the property manager Ismael were so helpful. I would highly recommend if you get the chance to stay here. I hope to again in the very near future.
We stayed at Villa Estrella from Feb 14-24, 2014. This villa is gorgeous and very comfortable. There was a review about the beds being hard but we loved the beds, they're like a memory foam mattress. The best part of this vacation was having Rosa and Raquel come in every day and cooking us breakfast, lunch and supper. They also clean bathrooms, make beds and did our laundry everyday, total luxury!! We rented a car and drove from Puerto Vallarta and we were really glad we did this. The directions Ulrich gave us were perfect and we had no problem getting there, it took us 2 hours. We liked being able to go on little day trips, we went to San Blas (45 min away), Sayulita (1hr 15min away), Zucualpan (15 min away), Las Varas (25 min away). There is no town close by that you can walk to if you needed to get to an ATM or if you wanted to do some shopping, so a car was great. We went boogie boarding everyday (boogie boards are provided) and crossed over the the beach a couple of times while there. You can only get across to the beach at certain times of the day because of the tides running in and out of the estuary. When you can get across you have to walk through the water which is at the deepest up to your waist with big waves coming in.
We loved the infinity pool, we never even used the community pool. Just sitting in the pool and looking out to the ocean watching whales jump, pelicans flying over and fish jumping was our favourite activity.
The no-see-ums were a big problem for us, they come out in the morning and at dusk. We wore our insect repellent but we all got bit badly. We heard from a few people that a good defence against this is to get a B-12 shot about 2 wks before your holiday, which we would for sure do next time.
We took our teenage daughter with us and she found she was bored with no internet or TV to watch in the evenings. I would take a computer (there is no television) and movies and a friend for her next time!!
This place is great for a quiet, relaxing holiday.
We have been here multiple times and is one of our favorite vacations. The villa is beautiful, the food is amazing, the beaches are prestine. I could go on and on. I highly recommend this rental to everyone!
