About Kelly and Steve Barone
Steve and Kelly enjoy the Adirondack Mountains and Lakes - and Kelly was born and raised only one hour away from Old Forge! As former educators and business owners, this vacation home is also special to our kids and grandkids as we gather together in this beautiful part of the world.
Kelly and Steve Barone purchased this house in 2002
Why Kelly and Steve Barone chose Old Forge
We chose this home after spending many years renting in the Adirondack Mountains. We love being tucked into a little cove next to the lighthouse, so we can watch the boats go by - but they don't come close to the house. Once we bought the home, we slowly upgraded the rooms to make it fit our own tastes. The kitchen is state of the art -- one of the nicest in the on the lake. The 1/2 mile long and winding road from Rt 28 to camp engulfs you in quiet, green and peaceful serenity - the perfect mood for a vacation.
What makes this house unique
The breakfast room was originally a porch. Now it serves as a dinning area and we kept the glass partition between the eating area and living room to keep the view open and yet as a bit of a separation so games and cards can be played at the table and movies or reading can continue in the living room. The HD flat screen TV, high end stereo and whole house WiFi allow you to just as connected to the world as you want to be -- or not. Steve (after his sunrise kayaking habit) and Kelly will often be seen having morning coffee on the dock while the ducks assemble for their morning feeding - Kelly is a pushover.
