I first visited Orcas Island as a 10 year old child staying at a summer camp. My wonderful memories brought my husband and me to the island again when our children were toddlers. We had such a delightful time that we looked for property to buy for ourselves. In 1969, because of its seclusion and view, we bought a lot at Raccoon Point. Our Lindal Cedar Home was built on it in 1972. Only 2 or 3 families came out to Raccoon Point for many years. We had a completely private beach, watched the whales, otters, seals, eagles, deer, enjoyed Mt Baker in the rising and setting sun, saw the ships passing in the distance and the kayakers and fishermen fishing from their boats. The beach is still private with only a few dinghies and kayaks pulled up on shore. Low tide uncovers starfish, sea anemones, barnacles, crabs, and other tide pool life. Driftwood abounds while the beach is forever being changed by the tides. The peacefulness, the views, the beach are the same way today as 40 years ago.
Once you arrive at the Cedar House, you may take off your wrist watch, then forget about time and not put your watch back on until it is time to catch the ferry to the mainland.
Our location is special in that is end of the road private but only five miles from the main hub of activity of Orcas Island - Eastsound. The house is accessed the last 2.5 miles on a dirt/gravel road affording a sense of adventure.

|Within seven days of making a reservation, a complete Rental Application is required along with a check for one half the rent total and $200 refundable security deposit. Sales tax is 10.1%. You will receive a confirmation in writing. Your balance is due two weeks prior to arrival.|
|Notes||If you'd like to do your own cleaning and laundry of the rental prior to departure, there are no additional housekeeping fees. $125 to clean, $50 for laundry plus tax additional.|
