Tucked away in a quiet little village but perfect for visiting the major, Tuscan sites. The villa is a little, semi-detached cottage with everything you could wish for provided. We loved to sit on the patio having breakfast or lunch whilst gazing across to Siena in the distance. The shared pool is a very short walk away as are the 4 (yes 4) restaurants to be found in the local village. Our mainstay was the local Trattoria in the Villa di Sotto who serve excellent steaks and have a great wine selection. They also manage the handover of the Villa and were charming and friendly hosts. You should also visit the Osteria and the Michelin starred Bottega del 30 at least once. Siena, Arrezo, Florence, Lake Trasimeno..the list goes on and are all within an easy drive. The supermarket in the local town has all you will need for your stay. Would I recommend it? Definitely yes.
ideal location near a picture-perfect little village frozen in Medieval time. Had a great stay here and I enthusiastically recommend this villa if you seek privacy and value peace and quiet —with stunning long views all the way to Siena. The home is well-situated in a gorgeous part of Chianti, and is also very well-equipped compared to other rentals we have stayed in.
(The freshly-pressed Italian linens made our stay feel like a first-class hotel!).
Cute, well-appointed farmhouse-cottage exceeded expectations for my husband Bill and I. Gorgeous setting and super-convenient to restaurants. This was a highlight of our early Spring in Chianti. The cottage is comfortable and private, situated smack in an olive grove! Easily accommodates four, two couples or a family with two children, one double bed and one bedroom with two single beds. The two houses can be opened to each other for larger groups, or kept private as we did for just the two of us. We did not notice any other folks during our stay but it would have been fine because each house is autonomous with plenty of privacy. Comfortable mattresses and pressed linens were appreciated following a long journey from NY.
The adjacent pool was not yet open for the season but it sure will be a welcome component for the coming hot Tuscan summer. Panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards , long morning walks through quiet lanes and vineyards in the olive grove... We loved taking walks in the vineyards with only the birds for company.
Villa A Sesta is a picturesque village which had four great restaurants - we never had to get in the car, --but we did, because the region is packed with places to see and experience again and again. Very near also to Montalcino and Montepulciano, two of our favorite towns, and of course were right next door to gorgeous Siena for easy day-tripping.
We wish we could have stayed longer and will come back again.
