Very quiet apartments nearby the beach and the old port of Honfleur

'La Maison d’Armateur' is an atypical 19th Century house in the heart of medieval Honfleur. It surprises by its style and originality.

The house and its apartments are not only in the town centre but also near to the beach and within walking distance of Honfleur’s attractions – the Garden of Personalities, swimming pool, tennis club, the Satie and Boudin Museums and the Old Port with its art galleries, restaurants, cafés and pubs.

The apartments have a classical style with era woodwork and have good views over the sea on one side and Honfleur’s narrow cobbled streets on the other.

The private parking adjacent to the house is exclusively reserved for the 4 apartments’ tenants.

The bedlinen is included in the price.

Restaurants: We recommend our favorite restaurants: 'Le Petit Mareyeur' rue Haute 5 minutes away from the apartment, 'Le Bréard' rue du Puits, 'Entre Terre et Mer' rue Haute, a wine bar with very good rustic-style dishes consisting of garnished slices of bread, ' Bacaretto', rue de La Chaussée.

Hiking: There are a lot of hiking paths in Honfleur and its surroundings. You will find survey maps available at the apartment of the Clos Massillon.

Museum: The apartment is located 2 minutes away from the Satie Museum. Many museums are waiting for your visit in Honfleur.

A very comfortable apartment for 4 people,the 'clos massillon' apartment is 5 minutes by foot from the restaurants, shops and from the old port. this large apartment (80 m2) is in an elegant old house from the XIX th century with a safe parking. There 's a lightly dining room with an open kitchen very well furnished;A big living room with two large sofa,sattelite tv, dvd player.2 bedrooms (the first one has a double bed, the second one has 2 simple beds).One of the sofa in the living room is as well a confortable double bed for 2 other people.A bathroom with a bathtub ans a separate toilet.the apartment is 5 minutes by foot from the very nice public garden the public swimming-pool and the public tennis club;this is a quiet apartment,such a nice place to discover honfleur and the coast.if you are 6 people, no extra cost. This apartment is located in Honfleur, 5 minutes away from the old harbour, 'le Vieux Bassin', from the shops, restaurants and art galleries. Honfleur is a fishing port. A large and great market is held every Saturday morning and an organic market every Wednesday morning at Saint Catherine’s Square, 5 minutes away from the apartment. There are plenty of narrow streets, churches, and districts for wandering around. Honfleur enjoys beautiful colours and a permanent tranquility. 'The first time you come to Honfleur by accident, but you will come back again and again without being tired of it.' (This is what a Belgian guest said on September 2005 while he was staying at the Clos Berthot apartment). Deauville and Trouville are located 12 km away, Etretat 40 km. Rouen 60 km, Le Havre 25 km and Caen is 60 km away. The D Day landing beaches are only 75 minutes from Honfleur.

Golf: A golf course, at Saint Gatien, is only 15 minutes away from the apartment.

Stayed at the Clos Massilon for a week during half term with my wife and 2 children (4 and 6 months). The apartment was lovely - the main rooms are full of charm and very well equipped. The weather was cold while we were there but the apartment was lovely and warm. The bedrooms and bathroom are not as nicely decorated as the main rooms but still perfectly fine.
Best of all however is the location which is absolutely fantastic - a five minute walk to the heart of Honfleur is so convenient.
I'd thank the previous reviewer for the advice re pillow cases - the pillows are square so if you are coming from the UK bring pillows.
The only other advice I would offer is not to bring a large car. The secure parking is very tight and a smaller car would have been much easier!

Beautifully decorated in that 'shabby chic' French style, with lots of individual touches. Very light and airy, and spacious. Brilliant location, and safe parking, which is important in Honfleur as parking is a bit of a challenge. Just a few minutes walk to the bars and restaurants in the harbour. The owner, Eddy is charming and very helpful. If you're travelling from the UK, and taking your own linens, remember that French pillows are square! I'd recommend taking your own pillows as only 1 per person is provided. This apartment is on the 1st floor with stairs so not good if you can't manage stairs.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Excellent property, very French and with a great deal of charm. Very spacious and well equipped. A shared washing machine/ tumble dryer some where in the house would be very useful for longer stays.Good safe parking and in a fantastic location within walking distance of many amenities including bars, restaurants,art galleries pretty shops cobbled streets and ,quayside local swimming pooland beautiful public gardens with tennis,mini golf and petanque.Within easy driving distance of other resorts and towns eg Deauville/Trouville Caen, Liseux etc and many golf courses and other attractions. Would definitley recommend property to friend but would also like to keep it a secret because it is such a gem and the owner gave such excellent service.
