We are located in a perfect spot for people who want to experience different things in Kona. You can drive straight up the mountain into the Kona coffee belt, straight down the mountain to the beach and snorkeling. Drive North into Kona town or South into Keauhou. Five to ten minute drives will get you to all these places. Two national parks within a 30 minute drive, and the resorts are about 40 minutes away if you are interested in upscale experiences.
We very much appreciate EVERYTHING...the excellent accommodations, the excellent breakfast, the excellent location and the excellent hospitality. Too bad it was only for two nights.
Excellent play to stay. Great ocean view from the lanai and a private room. Hosts provided wonderful tips for restaurants and activities as well as snorkel gear for us to use. Delicious breakfast every morning. We really enjoyed our stay!!
We so enjoyed our stay -- a central location, welcoming and extremely helpful hosts, and a wonderfully relaxing setting!
This suite is situated in nice and safe neighborhood, but far from the beach and the town center. You cannot walk. The house is very nice, spacious and spotless.IThe bathroom very comfortable.I recommend it for the short stay, because you have not the possibilities of washing or drying the clothes as well as cooking or heating the meal(no microwave or toaster). There is BBQ next to the pool ,we did not use it.
But then...maybe it is like that in all B and B????We do not have any experience as we had always rented houses and condominiums.
The breakfast served by charming owners are the piece of art...delicious and beautiful, served in on nice lanai. The pool is nice and clean, but in January the water is a little cold.
On the lanai there is not a lot of privacy, you can hear every word of the conversation and TV from the next door owners.
We liked a lot Isabel and Jim.They were very kind and helpful. They got us very nice service, informations about place to visit, got us the beach chairs and had interesting conversation.
Thank you very much.

Picturesque sunsets over the pool are just the beginning for this marvelous getaway in Kona. Isabelle and Jim are gracious hosts, who provide good ideas about things to do and even provide snorkeling gear. The breakfasts are superb with fresh squeezed juices, fruits, fresh baked breads, yogurt and egg casseroles. The living space is a private wing of their house with spacious bedroom and huge bathroom with jacuzzi and tiled shower. We couldn't have had nicer accomodations.
I booked this B&B via VRBO after searching through many properties, and I am so happy I booked this one! At that time, all the reviews were fantastic, and for a good reason. Here is why we loved staying there for 11 days, and why I think everyone else does/will as well:
-Isabel and Jim are the nicest people you will ever meet, and they go above and beyond to ensure you have a comfortable and pleasant stay
-the suite is exactly as described (spacious, clean, lanai with ocean view where you will enjoy breakfast every morning, etc.)
-healthy, hearty fresh breakfast is served to you every morning; Isabel refers to it as a light breakfast, but we rarely needed lunch as we typically ate our next meal at dinner time (example of some of the breakfasts: fresh Hawaiian fruits, breads, yogurt and granola, baked dishes, etc. - all homemade)
-in-room coffee and teas, and a fridge to keep your other beverages cold
-very large bathroom with double sinks, shower, jetted tub, and lots of room to unpack/store toiletries
-large bedroom with island decor, extremely comfortable King bed, and a dresser and armoire so you can unpack clothes
-additional living space outside of bedroom to lounge and read books (tv in the bedroom)
-both Jim and Isabel are very knowledgeable about big island activities and services and are more than happy to share info and even print maps (eg. want to know where the best snorkelling is or where to get laundry done, simply ask)
-house is centrally located and getting "back home" every day is very easy
-large swimming pool to cool off in
-bbq and accessories for cooking your own dinner outdoors available for your use
In addition, they offered/provided beach towels, a cooler, beach umbrella, lawn chairs, and snorkelling gear, which was invaluable for all the day hiking trips and beach visits. Additional items Isabel has placed in the bathroom for use by guests clearly shows how caring she is to guests needs while away from home.
We loved staying here so much, that we hope to stay again when we return to the big island one day. It was the best! Thank you Jim and Isabel - we look forward to seeing you again soon. All the best, R&M.
Cannot overstate how much we enjoyed staying with Isabel and Jim. Their beautiful home sits on a hill with a gorgeous view of pacific sunsets. The master suite and bath were perfect. We looked forward to sunsets on the lanai, and the full breakfast each morning (included fresh fruit, juice, Kona coffee, and delicious homemade dishes). Also appreciated their helpful suggestions on things to see and do, loaning us snorkel equipment, and making us feel right at home. Short drive to downtown Kona, but just far enough for peace and quiet. Also very close to beaches, bays for snorkeling, coffee plantations, and places to eat.
