Donna & Greg LaLiberte
We have resided in Boulder since 1989, Greg originally from Minnesota and Donna from Maryland. We met here in Boulder while doing a meditation retreat and have enjoyed raising our daughter at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Greg is a musician (Brazilian, Jazz, Classical) and Donna is a painter (former dancer), and both enjoy gardening. We live next door to Asio which we purchased after having been the property managers for the former owner for the last seven years. With the mountains, rivers, canyons, the university, the thriving music and arts scene, and sports to participate in around every corner, Boulder provides everything we look for in life.
We each moved to Boulder because of Naropa University but for separate reasons. After living in various parts of town in rentals, we purchased the house next door to Asio in 2001 because of its location, the history of a close-knit neighborhood community, and the great potential for living well in town. When Asio came up for sale, we jumped at the chance to save the house from the wrecking ball (developers wanting to come in and build a large, modern house on the property). We spent the spring and summer lovingly and carefully renovating Asio inside and out, trying to strike a balance between preserving and enhancing historic qualities, honoring features from a former artist/carpenter/owner, and including necessary modern conveniences. We think you'll agree we found a good balance.
Bungalow Asio is situated perfectly in Boulder, a short walk to shops, restaurants, and cafes, a quick run to open space trails, three blocks from public transportation, and a fifteen minute walk to the Pearl Street Mall and downtown. Asio is surrounded by an adobe wall and privacy fencing, its property filled with mature trees, flagstone paths and patios, garden areas, three outdoor seating/eating areas, and a bike shed protecting a variety of bikes for your use. The kitchen makes any chef happy, the antique spiral staircase to the TV/getaway loft charms all ages, the gas fireplace warms up the coldest winter evenings, the swamp cooler (like an A/C) cools the hottest summer days, and the amazing quiet the house provides calms all souls.
