This property is very tranquil and quiet. The neighborhood is super safe--crime is almost non-existent. Mill Valley has two Whole Foods markets, a Friday Farmer's Market, and organic sections in the historical market and in Safeway.
We can arrange for talented healers to come to you for healing massage, gentle Rolfing, warm bamboo massage, acupuncture and more. Your hosts are licensed psychotherapists who practice Low Energy Neurofeedback. It's like a brain reboot: an EEG reads your brain waves and echoes them back through the same three sensor wires to the head, triggering a neural house-cleaning. Regrets, worries and repeating survival thoughts vanish. The resulting clarity is like the spacious mind meditators experience on retreat. Headaches, ADHD, migraines, anxiety, depression and arguing are all improved strongly. This is the future of medicine, available to the lucky few now. Couples drop their arguments, business people drop their speech nervousness, athletes drop into 'the zone'. Everyone is at their best. These services are available at a small extra charge.
As a licensed psychotherapist, I like meeting interesting people. I have studied at Yale and Pacifica Graduate Institute, started businesses, directed a choir and orchestra, and run Echo Rock Neurotherapy Clinic for 25 years. My wife and I use Low Energy Neurofeedback and meditation techniques to make people efficient and happy and to alleviate problems of anxiety, ADHD, phobias, headaches, PTSD, etc. I also bicycle, garden, and write about our work. I often dance on Sundays at the Open Floor. I serve as a practice guide for Spirit Rock Meditation Center in nearby Woodacre, CA.
Grant Rudolph purchased this bungalow in 1996
Connections. The property is well-designed with pricey amenities, yet the wealth of connections to local interesting people and places is priceless. You are not on your own.
Location. 'The flat's' near downtown Mill Valley is the best place to be in the Bay Area. The weather is perfect, sunny but not too hot because of the nearby ocean. You're on the edge of open space forest, and the air is cleaner than anywhere nearby. The city commute is easy, and dozens of activities are conveniently nearby. Best of all, Mill Valley is filled with creative people who pause at the coffee shops to talk.
Service. Where else are you offered the services of a chef, a masseuse, an organic gardener, a bike or personal fitness coach, and a neurotherapist? Access to Low Energy Neurofeedback (LENS) may be the best thing that has happened to you in decades, especially if you have ever hit your head or been in a fender-bender.
The apartment is a great location for everything in Mill Valley. There is a bike port that housed my bike that I brought but they have to mountain bikes for use as well. ITHe apartment is part of their home but has it's own entrance and yard and a silencer between their part and the apartment and I never heard anything from their part of the house. The apartment is small but very well done and had everything I needed. The bed was really comfortable. Victoria invited me to join her biking group and that was such an act of kindness and changed my entire trip. I was there for a month and looking to make friends and she paved the way for me. One night there was supposed to be a big storm and she wrote me with asking how they could help me be prepared. Grant ended up taking me all the way to the bus on my last day which was so sweet of him. I really can't say enough about their hospitality and yet I never really saw them so I felt like I was really in my own private home. There is a garden in the apartment area and I had fresh Kale and tomatoes. The washer and driver was in the garage which was really so convenient to the apartment. They worked so fast I couldn't believe it. I really had a great month. I walked to town everyday which is the beauty of the location. You can't go wrong with this property.
A superb stay in a beautifully designed and furnished home within walking distance of
downtown and bus stops. Perfect in every way!!
We loved this wonderful retreat - where zen meets modern. It was so close to all the things we wanted to do in the area and some excellent shopping and restaurants nearby. Thank you, Grant, for a wonderful experience!!
We rented this apartment for a full month and it was a great location to to call home base. So much to do in Mill Valley and surrounding area as far as hiking, biking, camping - you name it Marin County has it. The location of the apartment was very convenient for walking to any part of town to enjoy dinner and pick up groceries etc. Lots of parks nearby to walk the dog and enjoy the outdoors.
It was perfectly located away from the city but close enough to make it a sightseeing day trip and close to the Red Woods park. I would rent it again. The house is located in a nice neighborhood and ir was clean.
This exceptionally decorated 2 BR apartment in Mill Valley is a part of a bigger house, but has its own entrance, patio and little garden. It is located close to the Town Square, where are multiple restaurants, but on a tranquil street. If you are curious how it feels to be a resident of this exceptional community, you would certainly enjoy your stay. Especially that the owners take interest in who you are and are more than willing to advise about the best activity for you. On the other hand there is as much privacy as you desire. I found the bed very comfortable and the kitchen practical, modern, well equipped to do your own cooking. I enjoyed the tomatoes from the garden! The location is very practical for many nature walks in the area, also has an easy access to Hi 101, Larkspur Ferry to SF and Hi 1 for the Pacific Ocean views. Overall I know the area very well, stayed in many hotels in Marin County, but felt this was more enjoyable and would like to return.
It's less than a ten minute walk to restaurants, 142 Throckmorton Theater, the Mill Valley Film Festival, and the trail head up Mount Tamalpais. You've probably seen these spectacular mountain views of San Francisco, the ocean, and open hills on car commercials. Tennessee Beach and nature preserve is 5 miles. Or venture to the Marin Headlands, the Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Beach, Muir Woods redwoods and beyond to the wine country and hot air balloon rides. Hop in the car and you can be at Muir Beach or Muir Woods in just 15 minutes. Continue on and in another 15 minutes you will be at beautiful Stinson Beach or head up to the top of Mount Tamalpais. Or if biking is your thing, hop on our bikes to the coffee shops or for world-class riding on Tour of California roads. Mt Tam is the birthplace of mountain biking and still provides amazing views of the city, forest, and ocean. The Green Gulch Zen Center is just a 10 minute drive away offering visitors a peaceful retreat as well as an amazing organic garden tour. Drop in for lunch or volunteer to work in the garden on Tuesdays.
Experience all the Bay area has to offer in one location! Secluded, cozy Mill Valley is just 10 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco where you can ride the cable cars, visit Ghirardelli Square, art museums, the SF Zoo, the Ferry Building shops, and the 'crookedest street in the world.'
The 2 bedroom retreat has a flagstone patio with an over-sized stainless grill. You can dine outside under the grape arbor, orpick fruit off the orange, lemon and apple trees. Sit in the large organic vegetable garden and breathe the oxygenated air of the greenhouse. Or walk to fantastic restaurants. Mill Valley is often voted one of 'the best small towns in America' recently #4 in the Smithsonian Magazine ratings. Locals sometimes say 'all new ideas and trends start in Mill Valley.
